  1. If you do the sensible thing and do one (long) half first and then copy paste, then your ship will be symmetrical anyway. Just move the core if the mild asymmetry is driving you crazy (making sure the arrow remains top and pointing forward).
  2. Those who want civilisation to start from bloody, chaotic beginnings into something random and those who want a fully fledged and safe civilisation to drop into -skipping all the actual civilisation building. It's not a"murder hobo vs carebear" fight either. Some, maybe most, on the PVP side want pvp to be and extension of politics so that it's not just dry talking. Even pirates like me would rather pvp was the result of carelessness or insufficient planning on the part of one of the combatants. I'm even one of those rare pirates happy to see his partner in "surprise trading" survive if they are sensible during the encounter. Not all pve/not interested in combat themselves people clutch their pearls at the thought of PVP, seeing it as a future projection of power or consequence of bad planning (ie, no radar). The squeaky wheels gets the grease, though. I'm also ok with safe zones* btw, though I think it makes more narrative sense for it to be just one planet and one moon. This should encourage cooperation between manufacturers and people happy to be pewpewers in order for higher tier materials to make it back to the safe zone. Anyway, thought it worth saying before the endless circular conversations begin. *someone in page 2 won't have read the OP and will accuse me of wanting to seal club, guaranteed.

  5. Rather than banning and exploiting by the Hand of God I'd rather we just tell people the simple way around boxing which is called 'fetch'. Or contraction, if you can walk out of the box.
  6. Pressing w twice means you sprint so you'll get there in (talent dependent) minutes running and also, the market at 6 is still there, it's 2kms away.
  7. This would be great if civilisation was already here, but it isn't. As I said above, a proper civilisation builder NEEDS a period of lawlessness to spur on the building of a secure civilisation. This isn't an argument between fans of pve vs pvp, it's between those who want to start civilisation from scratch organically and see what it looks like and those who want to go straight to a premade civilisation created by the devs. One of those two groups has misunderstood what NQ intended for the game.
  8. I think this is meant to be the 'difficult early period' in DU civilisation building. The periods/eons of Dual Universe will look something like this, or at least NQ should expect this. Eon 1: Wild West. No law anywhere, micropolities with no real power, no one is safe anywhere. Claims are staked. Eon 2: The law comes to Dodge City. Small polities. Small pockets of planets or space become policed, often by "poachers turned gamekeepers'. Still lawless outside 'Dodge' but punitive raids may occur. Eon 3: Tortuga. Medium sized and large polities. Most places are lawful now, with only notable badlands where no one can hold for long or disputed lands where law is 'flexible'. Eon 4: Space Sweden. Huge Polities. Law strong everywhere. Criminal gangs are small and live in the walls or on the constant move, to avoid constant surveillance and pursuit. At this stage the game needs to open up new territories to reset part of space to Eon 1/2. .... Once you see this you can understand that criminality and violence is meant to be the driver towards making an organic creation of a lawful state. You will eventually be safe everywhere. This makes the artificial positioning of the game straight into Eon 2 or Eon 3 with over large safe zones a thin gruel. It will also artificialise corp warfare into "we violently disagree, lets settle this 2500 su away" because fake safe zones also means fake danger zones. For a lot of us, Eon 1 or 2 is what excites us. I can understand other people preferring Eons 3 or 4, but please dont ask NQ to takes us there too quickly.
  9. Had this since yesterday. Another thing they broke is that you have to insta sell items at the market from each individual containers when it used to let you insta sell the total. Tedious.

  11. No, not literally. I want violence because I came in for the politics and intra Corp and interpersonal violence is part of a living civilisation. I'm happy with safety zones but they should be one olavet and one moon.
  12. I've got a brilliant idea... Put the info in TWO places! One immediate, one not. Even use that stone age technology of cut and paste. (This is based on a funny hotel encounter I had. I took the dog out for a before bedtime walk and came back to find the front door locked. After banging for a while, the owner eventually heard me and let me in. I suggested a bell. He said there was a bell on the side door, but that was for deliveries/disabled people. I just looked at him and said "Perhaps.... two doorbells?" Anyway, It was a terrible hotel.)
  13. The settlements probably need to be bigger, connected and with some distance between "popular buildings".
  14. I can only suggest you have a "plan b" game in the chamber (and maybe a plan c, because two games updating is not unheard of) for when you can't get on. Mine are baldurs gate 3 and Mount and blade.
  15. 99% of games have info on forums. It's just off putting for new players to have to do something particular. Every hurdle prevents engagement.

  20. Not necessarily. There's still mass, "quality", appearance, rarity and price, etc.
  21. Caverns tend to have smoother slopes. Ore nodes tend to be ful of little "cuboid' straight sides, assuming no player smoothing.
  22. "Going to the farthest point from civilisation" may have occured to more than one great mind.
