One problem with Tiered armor or equipment for that matter, is that it creates a need to have top tier or you will be instakilled or top tiered equipment is to expensive and creates a deadlock where people fear losing.
A Twerksample could be faction war far in eve where T2 and Faction frigates by far outclassed standard T1 frigate.

I my opinion building/designing should be complete free and with out restrictions. You should not have to fight your tools to make them work.
There should also be plenty of options like 3 axis mirroring and copy/paste/replace.

I will be expecting the stream of comments on how terrible and unfair this is by people who don't understand how the economy works.
i will bit, stop with your silly childish comments they only serve to subtract from the forum and bring all low.
Your post was good even if people agree or not, until the very end, then you had to foul it up.

oh perhaps someone has mentioned it but it worth saying again.
Collisions makes space fun because you have to think about your actions or die and not just ghost true each other or object.

Allahu Akbar....
This reminds me of an old FPS game where you could run around with a primed grenade, for some reason i got banned all the time

starmade is using a rail block and rail docker, this allow simple 1 to 1 docking and also carting objects or docked entities around

You can always focus some skill groups, but waiting for skill XYZ to complete is not smart.

they do lack references but totally dismissing the engine is flawed, perhaps in the future someone will make something awesome

I would not mind it If they did it because it's a nice geometrical figure, how ever if they do it because the support Nazism or something like it, ban them all for 1 month as a first offense

Once again DU Explorers is excluded from yet another chart
well you are exploring uncharted territory...

To much survival for my taste. actually i have never tried, stopped reading after i read food and oxygen required.
I prefere From the Depths because of awesome cannons (automated) and constructs you make or StarMade for space craft building full of automation and AI controled turrets (except they only have the A in AI)

Then, I went to kickstarter to get more information, but the trailer and the description reminded me Star Citizen. Moreover, I didn't get what could really make DU standing out from the crowd.
So, I didn't pledge this time.
I've only be convinced to pledge several weeks ago, when I learned more about the technical features of NQ exclusive One-shard technology.
Open World, Voxel, MMO pew pew in space where do i sign up again, i am sold.
On the other hand, I'm not sure that DevDiaries videos are good promotional videos, because they are too precise and technical. I mean, people interested in watching DevDiaries are probably already interested in the game, or just hesitating to pledge.
So, to my opinion, making 4mn length (or less) DevDiaries does not make sense, regarding the attention span.
To me, good promotional videos could have social or emotional content at the begining to catch and focus the viewers attention. Next, they could introduce general or thrilling information about the core topic.
They are devdiaries, and as such are meant to be technical. I think you are mistaking them with teasers and trailers like on this page http://www.dualthegame.com/medias

If you take out the ship's central computer, it can't do anything. It can't stabilise the reactor so that goes offline. You could have multiple ship cores so that you cant be focus fired down, but people need to know where the core is in order to focus fire (and they usually don't).
Multiple cores could be interesting, then it comes down to how we a able to move around and if we can see/target the cores when locking on.
If there is a for of tab targeting then might auto target cores, it often do is my experience.

In my eyes scaffolding add nothing to the process other then taking time and being in the way there will be plenty problem making ships ranging from basic sizing and alignment to problem setting up internal systems.
