  1. It was the best update/video in the kickstarter by far, especially the information we got for the combat mechanics. It's also nice seeing more gameplay too. The visuals are already gorgeous and that soundtrack is just OP!
  2. It's true that NMS had an huge negative impact on the DU Kickstarter, but i also see a lot of people backing away from it because of the subscription model and the EVE-like combat style. I'm ok with it and understand why they need to follow that path. It's the trade-off to enable the single shard universe to work at first place but that scares a lot of people away unfortunately!
  3. They said the life time sub will be exclusive to kickstarter only! I think this was answered in one of the AMA events.
  4. This is what happens when Devs try to be transparent and truthful to the current state of their pre-alpha demo..lol. I mean, they always said the demo was still very limited compared to what they want to do. No idea why some people think it's already possible to build huge cities or ships by hundreds of players at the same time when NQ do not even have the servers to begin with (why wasting money on that at this stage?). You will have to wait for the alpha to see that type of stuff.

  7. @MrFaul Don't get me wrong because i still think DACs are far from being overpowered items that gives huge ammounts of unfair advantages to certain players. No, my point is that athough it has limited use in giving advantages (basically it improves your in-game credit to get stuff faster from the markets), it's still a P2W mechanic. I just think it's wrong saying it's not P2W because the whole point of it is using real money to get in-game privileges (and i'm not talking about just skins for your weapons), otherwise no one would bother to buy it. The devs explanation as to why they implemented said system is solid, logical and i'm totally ok with it. But no matter how little the advantage is, it's still a P2W mechanic in my view.
  8. Then, what's the point in buying DACs at first place? Only an idiot would spend 18€ in a DAC to not profit in-game from it..
  9. I probably understood wrong but isn't that what the options C or B offer? If the DAC is used to pay the subscription it's unlootable but as soon as the player turns it into a physical item to trade for something else, enemies could steal it. Being it in DAC format or just material bough from the market is ultimately the same thing in the situation i described! Someone correct me if i'm wrong pls...
  10. No, it's just that looting a super item that allows you to play the game for free is very exciting...lol. One of the best things in a MMO for me. Plus, it would reduce a little the P2W aspect of the game since there would be a risk for those players that want advantages in it by using real money.
  11. Don't forget your account might be banned if you take the risk in buying illegal stuff. There is a risk in both ways, however one is a permanent situation that will completelly ruin your game..lol. Plus, i was under the impression people were suggesting something similar to what this guy said (option B or C): By far, it looks the best option available right now!
  12. I have no problem at all. Just stating my view on the subject! if you think DACs give no extra advantage in the game then why would people spend real money on it at first place? This was true way before we got the announcement DACs could not be stolen. It's a P2W mechanic no matter what delusions you might have, otherwise no one would bother to spend extra 18€ (almost 2 months worth of a sub) in the game for one single DAC that gives you no privileges. Everyone assumes only the ones with less time to play would buy them, but like in any other game, that is not true so there is no symbiotic/balanced system to begin with since some players would have way to much advantage in obtaining resources (both time and money). Plus, people babbling about how cool pirating DACs is and how stupid people are, would probably be the first ones getting robbed by them...lol. Ego levels are over 9000 and the game do not even started yet However, i do agree DACs should be allowed to be stolen, at least if it had similar terms to what yamamushi proposed. Looting special/rare/worth items always gives that nice special feeling in a MMO. Just my 2cents!

It doesn't matter if it takes time to produce the ships because it will be the same for the ones not spending real money in the game, but those will have to farm the materials all over again and that takes time too. The wealthy DAC organizations will always be faster in acquiring resources. Let's also not forget that a lot of people with tons of free time will also spend real money just to be the first ones in getting stuff and creating powerfull organizations to dominate the game. That is the advantage aspect of having DACs. Sure, if no one or just a few buys DACs with in-game money that would not be such a game changer but i think it's safe to assume there will be high demand for it and therefore giving advantage to the p2w players. But like i mentioned before, this is something impossible to change since illegal gold sellers always find a way to disrupt this type of games and by using the DAC system, at least we know the money will be put in good use by the devs. I'm ok with that... it's the lesser of the two evils!

The problem is that the ones who pay real money will replace their lost fleet/defenses/forts/whatever in a matter of seconds by using the blueprints and buying the materials directly from the market (well not in seconds, just the ammount of time necessary to pick up and transport the goods from the market to the target destination). However, the less wealthy ones will have to farm first and that will take forever if the destroyed constructs are big and expensive. It can be a game changer if a specific organization has rich members in the real world and the other doesn't and they are at war. But yeah, like mentioned before, illegal gold sellers would still be present and the problem would still be there even without the DACs. At least this way NQ can use the legal money to improve the game.

  16. Not really. My credit card is Maestro (not Mastercard) and i can use it on paypal. However, since it's not a Mastercard, kickstarter do not accept it! It's a shame because i really wanted to support the game. There are probably a lot of people in the same situation. But yeah, like the other user said, kickstarter is out of NQ's hands on the way it accepts funds in.
  17. Yep, i have the same problem. Too bad Kickstarter is so limited in that aspect. Not only they don't have paypal but also the type of credit card they accept is way too restricted. Unfortunately i'm not able to help because of that. Anyway, best of luck to your Kickstarter campaign. I will follow this game up close since it has tremendous potential to become something big and unique!
