There's a lot of BOO in there, that's true. So what? We had the idea to do this for the community. We contacted NQ about it. We put long thoughts and effort in it.

As I and others of BOO don't have full mod rights on the DU discord, we can't properly run a mass test there - as we need to adapt to certain situations as we see fit.

This is a player organized mass test for DU to help the devs - there are no orgs in Alpha to me - nothing more. If you want to help DU, then feel free to organize a mass test yourself. Please contact NQ and BOO so we can figure out a timetable - we don't want such mass tests to happen at the same time.

I apologize. I didn't mean the comment as a negative against you or BOO. I don't suspect foul-play since you have taken the time to make sure that everything it done right and planned ahead of time. I was merely thinking that since we are already spending the time running organizations, there may be someone outside of all of that willing to oversee these tests. Other people and organizations would of course be able to help out to the extent that they are interested, but that way it would be completely independent. I had assumed that there were going to be mods or posts in game letting everyone know when mass testing was needed.

But regardless of what I said, this idea of having mass organizations during the alpha for testing or fun purposes has been mentioned and commented on before so don't think that you are alone in it's conception. Although you do seem to be the first that has actually began an effort to organize for it, please don't act like you are the only one who puts in forethought about the game, there are many dedicated people outside of BOO.

  2. I too would like to eventually see other outfits and modifications of those outfits, either through dying and/or mixing and matching. But I don't think that the idea fits as well into this world as it would into say the WoW universe. We are all going to be space explorers from the same mothership, so realistically the uniform variety would be minimum seeing as everyone is the same rank. But ignoring that fact, it would be nice to see a variety of climate based outfits for people in different biomes as well as some way that you could differentiate different organizations at a distance just by what they are wearing.

Don't make this a gender thing.

Men and women generally stand the same.

Especially in a world where everyone may be machine-raised/genetically-modified.

  3. I would think that you could get away with stationary rings without breaking immersion, but it would be nice if there could be orbiting moons. Although I suspect that you would run into the same issues of planets orbiting a star.

If you find the time, could you add this as a new paragraph to the wiki page on devblogs and devdiaries?

I tried, but whenever I submit my changes an error occurs. I tried both logged in and logging out but couldn't get it to work.

EDIT: Seems gamepedia doesn't allow normal users to add links.

  5. I was beginning to find it frustrating trying to hunt down little bits of information in videos in order to help people out so I thought that I would make a summary of the Dev Diaries.

  6. Okay, so for 1.1.4 I cut out all of the 2 member orgs in order to gain some performance. I know there are a lot of you that are no longer going to be on the map, but it was seriously laggy. Just go invite a friend or family member and you will be on the next map. (Please don't just make alts. It's not allowed and a great way to lose reputation or your org.)

It seems that all orgs with Ardour as legate have "mysteriously" vanished. Not gonna comment more on that, but here are the orgs I noticed missing: Unity League, Galactic Exchange, Coming soon, AEF Counter Intelligence Agency, The Bulwark Treaty.

Cartagena is still being a pain and tying a bunch of orgs down. (Organizations should be allowed to be free! This captivity is a crime! Join Soul Nebula to be free of Cartagena's bondage!)

Would be interested in seeing how the community is growing. If only @Anasasi would update his charts... (the updated community page probably messed up his gathering method though)

  7. Sounds like an interesting idea. Although I don't see a reason to post it four times in succession. :P

I was also pretty excited when I saw the amount of things that they were going to unlock in the LUA (although it may become more restricted later).

  8. If you are skeptical about some game-play aspect or the game in general, don't pay to play it during the alpha which is going to be probably bug riddled and, as clearly stated by JC, only a small part of total future game-play. Just wait till you can hear from people who are in the Alpha and Beta phases to tell you what the game is like and whether the game is going to succeed from their perspective, according to the progression of the game development that is yet to be seen in constant updated detail. Also I have to agree with @Lethys; just wait for full launch and play the free trial period. If you don't think you will play the game, then you have lost nothing.

  9. In my opinion, at least in Alpha the only reason to war will be to test any mechanics that are implemented. Since the servers are going to be worked on and reset, there is no long term gains by war and thus it will probably only be done for fun and to bug test. Once the full game is released the reasons will be the same as real life: struggles over valuable resources or land, trying to destroy the assets of an enemy, just plain power struggles for show or politics, and I guess for fun too.

Shockeray, I wasn't intending on advertising. Ther has been another org created just after mine trying to replicate TVR and I needed to clearly state my intentions.

Which org is this? I see silver2127 in:

The Eternal Republic (Legate) [is this the new org you are referring to?]

    The Eldritch Nation

Darius Sanguna Empire [former TVR I think]

    DUA - Diverse Unified Accord

    Terran Union

I mean, it would be awesome to use orbital mechanics for tactical purposes. Of course, that would make all the KSP players have an unfair advantage...

Unfair? I don't think that it would be unfair for people that know more to have an advantage. It just adds more depth to the game. Sure the rest of us have to work harder to catch up, but that just means there is more to do.
