  1. With all these changes leading to having to have every element exposed, why not do another pass on elements. They are ugly AF. That's why everyone covers them with voxal. So the art department must be complaining that no one is using their oversized terrible looking elements. So "let's force them to expose them so everyone is forced to look at my work and I can be validated"
  2. Not sure why we are even talking about the build mode grid. It has always been an issue, anyone who has ever built a ship knows what a pain this is. Just DU it and get to something important. While you're at it can I get some of my screen back from my hand and the popcorn FX obstructing my view in build mode. Just as much of an issue. The only question everyone wants answered is if the wipe is coming. But I'm pretty sure you don't want to announce because you are scared we all will piss off. Then who will test your game for you.
  3. We already have people making spreadsheets and max efficiency charts to smash after a wipe, just in case. We can make the org even better and more streamline. Just the people resource we have makes us ahead of any new player and most orgs that would ever come into game. Even day one. An wipe isn't going to solve a thing except putting a big speed bump in the road and pissing people off in the process. unless more interesting and investing gameplay loops are introduced or flushed out. (Looking at you salvage wrecks) Also can you explain to me how a wipe will make everyone on a level playing field. I can play 60 hours a week, I read every forum post, discord chat and website concerned with DU. I watch every video and chat with every DU player I can to learn everything I can to better myself. The gap will always exist for those that don't (not my problem) I help everyone I can in game. I give away quanta and spend countless hours helping people learn to voxal and teaching them how game mechanics work. Which is more valuable than any new player experience imo. These issues that you would like to wipe away because people exploited are really annoying yes but it's all self inflicted. Not to mention you have the logs and could discipline those people at will and you haven't. You have a test server and those items never got fully tested because the PTS. The window was always so small and it's a pain to get people to test when on the PTS you have to jump through a bunch of hoops to even begin to test. Should just have all the SP and the PTS markets should have everything for 1 quanta. Maybe ingame incentives to get people to log into the PTS?
  4. For me it really comes down to if this is only a test server to be wiped on release, why have the PTS? Should just give us all the stuff on the live server and actually test the hell out of it and make the game better. But it wasn't framed that way. We were sold persistence and the ability to build a world. If I knew that all the work I've done under that premise would be deleted, do you really think I would have paid a sub? No, I would have played a game that valued the cash and time spent helping the Devs with bug reporting and testing out this buggy mess.
  5. Having PAID for my sub since the start of Beta under the impression that there wasn't going to be a wipe, based on what you told us. I want my skill points and my BPs. I paid for that stuff.
  6. This. It would also be nice for those of us that build a lot of stuff to get the advanced corp construct skill add 5 to 10% on top of that for those of us that would train it, even if it took a long time.
  7. I actually have been upgrading to rares on everything and dropping the engine count. But I don't haul megas anymore so there's no real reason to build the tower of power anymore.
  8. Game development by sledge hammer. Interesting choice for further revenue prospects.
  9. What's extremely valuable to you? The values from what I've seen are minimal, since they were spawned before the new engines, the total value of one of those ships is what, 10 to 20 mil quanta. That's a joke to anyone who actively plays the game. drop in the bucket really. I may be different because I have an income that doesn't rely on your vision of what actual gameplay is. If I did I'd be poor and would have quit long ago. From what I've seen no one even gives a crap about those wrecks anymore. I'm the only person mentioning it. It's not even for me, it's for the newer players and anyone else that doesn't have a real reason to play the game. It's about installing reasonable gameplay loops that achieve player retention with mechanics already in game. Something extremely lacking as of late. If I wasted my time and went out looking for one of those wrecks, the time invested would in no way be reasonable or acceptable for anyone that could make millions of quanta by surface harvesting in the same time and be in a better place by ignoring them entirely. Ala poor implementation.
  10. Especially when the devs have the ability now. I watched them use it.
  11. energy, yes if done right. Survival, no way. I already have to cook, eat and crap in real life. Not wasting my time doing the same in a damn game.
  12. No. There are already too many survival games out there. I don't see a benefit of making more players quit either. I honestly play this because it isn't rust or any of that mess where I have to worry about food and water. There are plenty of those games out there. We don't need DU to become like all the other stuff out there just to follow a fad.
  13. With the camera stuff coming can we finally get our first person view fixed from the seat? I know I'm not the first to ask. It can't be that hard to fix either.
  14. Funny, because everything I've built is just fine with the collision stuff. That's not the part that chaps my backside. It's sloppy development that gets pushed into our lap. Why have a PTS if your not going to use it? Every PTS opening then is just pushed to the live server with no changes. Even after pages and pages of forum posts. They ask for input on changes then ignore the entire player base and push it anyway. Why even ask?
  15. Right after they said "we are going to communicate with the community more" They went silent for like 3 months lol. Then dropped a big turd in our cherrios with this obstruction crap. Like they didn't get the hint when everyone melted down with the demeter brake thing. Oh, the EVE memories where you explain to the devs how people really play the game. And they develop it in the exact opposite direction. Same people here, guess I can't be too surprised.
  16. Almost feels like I'm paying a sub to test a game, then be ignored by the devs. Just to have them revisit the issue and do what we said originally lol.
  17. In other words. We know our hit boxes suck and things can overlap. But get wrecked... not our fault. Sorry but it is your fault for doing crappy hit detection and creating this problem in the first place, then waiting well over a year to address it.
  18. The ships in the UEF store are all jacked up too. Even after they supposedly fixed them for V.2 Not that you should buy those. But it proves they weren't even prepared the collision system they implemented. With the foreknowledge of what they were doing to element collision. I mean really they can't even get their own stuff built right lol.
  19. Oh come on, we all love having to set a 4am alarm clock to fight 20 people for a few scraps of t4. That's emergent gameplay don't you know. Maybe they get a better server rate on the weekends.
  20. Exactly. Implement it into a new gameplay loop. scanners and haulers and the whole thing. This game is sorely in need of more interesting things to do. As of right now the way they put the existing wrecks into the game gives me little hope for the new space wrecks. I'm afraid that it will be more of the same. A good idea that wasn't taken advantage of and ultimately forgotten about when it turns out to be a waste of time. When the time could be spent retaining players with new and interesting content and making more profit. Also the comment about giving us the wrecks by letting us scan them doesn't make a lot of sense. My time spend building or buying a scanner and the time spent searching for it wouldn't be a gimme it would be gameplay.
  21. So there are ship wrecks under the ground. What your telling me is I'm gonna have to stumble upon them like Mr. Magoo because your render distance is so bad I would literally have to put on magnifying glasses and crawl across a planet on my belly to find one. The crap at my base barely renders in when I know where it is. So you would literally have to trip over one to find one. I play like 40 hours a week, have flown around every planet for countless hours and have never found one. So what does that say for your implementation. How does it benefit the game if no one can find them? It's been a damn year. There were only ever two pics posted of people actually finding them. Why put in a game mechanic that no one interacts with? Especially in a game where the players are screaming for more content. You already did the work. Just trying to get a mechanic implemented that actually is fun and not a waste of resources because you drop it and everyone just ignores it because you have to be "lucky" what a crock.
  22. If they are under the ground and there's no reason to dig underground any more wouldn't you say that's fairly poorly implemented then? Maybe throw us a bone and let the scanners pick them up. Salvaging could be a nice addition if it was flushed out and the wrecked ships weren't a finite resource. Maybe let newer players be able to salvage elements that they can't build or are expensive for them. Lots of options available with tools already in game. We're getting bored here.
  23. Space wrecks. You didn't even fully implement the salvage wrecks on the planets. Where did those go? Can wee get those to spawn more with this patch also? It's a whole gameplay loop you could be exploring that has been left to rot on the floor it would seem. Let me guess XS core wrecks only spawn in the safe zone. All others worth a damn spawn in the pvp zone right? all on a weekly thunderdome timer that excludes everyone that has a life and can't alarm clock them. Bet I'm getting warm.
  24. Yet sysadrift had a workaround in like a few hours. I'm sure you can do better.
  25. Yeah I have a ship with a pretty basic and clean aesthetic but it would seem a sloped angle is too much for the game now. Let alone a shape that has been smoothed. I love how in the Q&A they acted like it wasn't going to be a problem yet almost everything I'm working on is like 90% or higher. Guess we're going from lego to duplo because DU can't seem to keep enough players to rent a few more blades a month. Guess they will save a bunch of cash when they don't have to rent them anymore.
