  1. You charge people and say there won’t be a wipe when entering release, yip, people will expect release features which just need a little fine tuning; not where we are at. Exploits which some orgs/players make mega coin, but isn’t rolled back; yep leaves a sour taste in the mouths of others, especially since they are all competing in the same world. Agree with somebody who said shut it down. It’s time to push its offical status back to Alpha. Stop charging people. Maybe reopen the kick starter for people who wish to be in while it’s in development stage. When they went open beta, they got a lot of players in a short time. It shows proof of concept it’s wanted, they just gotta make it right. Don’t completely destroy the brand name, retreat and rework.
  2. I enjoyed rock gathering. I just wish there was a way to make it more profitable for anybody apart from beginners. I was very disappointed when I got to the outer planets and found I couldn’t surface gather higher tier ores out there. Maybe I’ll be able to on asteroids.
  3. I’m not a PvPer, and if I was I do t think I would count a NPC as a real PvP option for combat. Missions, yes NPC would be great, another method to add quanta to the game. BUT... While I have no interest in the combat aspect in the slightest, as I really don’t like PvP (but have no issue with its existence and hope they make it great for those who want it), I’d probably get into combat if there was PvE.
  4. Just a player so no idea how/if they plan on improving them, but ideas I’d like to eventually see... 1. Have scrap, the higher level the faster your elements are automatically repaired 2. Have a menu for each element and be able to select at which level of remaining lives you want to repair vs replace 3. Have RDMS set so for example I can set a price for each honeycomb and each element used, and if they agree it repairs their ship and I get paid, so people can run repair shops.
  5. It’s going to be hard to convince people to dig on the PTS as grinding isn’t a fun part of the game. ...But since a lot of us spend a lot of time digging anyhow, if there was a way to measure how much we mined on the PTS and then shove the ore we mined onto our account on the regular server, maybe waiting for us in one of our market containers I’m sure you could get a lot more people making holes all over the PTS. Yes it would be abused. Because the location of a mega on the PTS is the same place as it is on the live server, so people would mine both. But I don’t see this as that much of a issue, because you already know people are going onto the PTS which they effectively have unlimited resources, buying huge amount of scanners, and doing bulk scanning and using that to find megas they then go and mine on the regular server already. All this would do would encourage them to dig a hole on the PTS as well.
  6. Currently (I believe) you can give somebody permission to pick up stuff from the market for you (May benorgs only, haven’t tested). The problem is this gives them the ability to pick up every thing you have in every market. plus there is no way to ensure they deliver. Missions I assume would have insurance for them not completing mission, bond, etc.
  7. This part I disagree with. PvP players want planet warefare, but how are they going to get this if there is no point in setting up a base in a non-safe area. Just fly in, mine and leave. on the other hand, if %10 of the ore on an occupied hex respawned every week during the one hour down time, now we have a real reason to fight over hex’s, that’s where the ore now is!
  8. Each TCU gives you one hex. You can purchase (or build) as many as you wish and deploy as many as you wish. only two restraints; 1. You can only have one on the Sanctuary Moon 2. Each one you deploy costs more to deploy than the previous one (for the same planet. The count is planet based, not player base).
  9. They repair Voxel damage from PvP combat. They also remove damaged elements and replace then with new ones from your stock. Problem is they destroy your damaged elements, and you can’t tell them not to remove them. So generally you repair all the elements, then you start the machine repairing the voxels on your ship, and come back in three hours. NB:. You need to take a snapshot of your ship in good condition, as the repair machine just repairs tomthat state.
  10. They would have to either dumb down the one click system, or give bonuses to the factory version. there are a lot of talents which help improve construct aspects when they are placed down by a skilled person. The latest patch also made it that somebody can now just apply their best talents to a construct with just a few clicks. for Industry which make ships to have an use, there would have to be something like those talents, but which are based on the grade of the industry I suppose. this would either have to replace the current talents, be a different avenue to these talents, it the person with the talent starts the machine, it add a new set of advantages which could be applied. still think it could work and be cool
  11. Ok, sorry, my last post was more of a quip that a useful contribution. The main problem with a lot a lot of your responses is pretty much summed by the first person who replied. NQ want user generated content, but haven’t given a lot of tools to create it. Sure there are a bunch of pre arranged PvP battles, but they are for no purpose other than to do PvP. There is no gain, both sides come out at a net loss. a lot of your ideas require NPC missions or NPC actors/encounters. This is something right back in the Kickstarter that NQ sold the game as not going to have. This may have hamstrung them in the future (now). Of note though, in the latest PR from NQ they mention decisions from the past and how they will go forward. So it is possible they are now considering changing some of their stated goals from the kickstart and refocusing the choices and elements of the kickstart they will keep. as for all the suggestions you posted, I’d love to go through and talk about many of them, either positively or negativity, but there are just to many in one post to make a readable thread. maybe post the suggestions one suggestion per post so they are easier to have an on going conversation about?
  12. So basically recreate Elite Dangerous?
  13. They will have to backwards on some of their promises to do that. We have been told if we unsub, we won’t lose anything, it will be waiting for us when we return. if they then go and decide to start charging rent on hex’s which you lose if you don’t pay, there will be a stink. personally I’m happy for there to be an activity or rent requirement on all non Sanctuary hex’s. If you have moved into the real world you should be ready for stuff like that. But it will be an issue for players who grabbed a great prime location hex, dropped there sub and decided they would revisit every six months until the game is what they consider playable/fun, if they return and find that there hex is gone due to not paying a rental fee which was added while they were gone. but yes something needs to be done to tidy hex’s and constructs of missing players. Or every six six months they could release a new solar system, and then there will be a sudden mass transit of ships and a new land grab as all the active players warp/slow boat/big gate(tm) to the new system start looking for good hex’s which still have ore, and are close to markets etc.
  14. Na, not digital mining. Most of the lag at market place is caused as there are so many constructs which need to be pushed down the pipe to you then rendered as you approach. the scrip errors are because some of the constructs are being noisy and recording all the people that go by them. But databanks are reasonably limited. And a busy market will quickly fill there size limit and a suspect the errors and them trying to go over that limit.
  15. Punishment is kind of a bad word/idea. my preference is any construct left for over an hour (it’s a market place, one hour is more than enough to purchase/sell) gets transported (free) to the north (or south) pole. they don’t lose ownership, they don’t lose their ship, even provide a free Sanctuary type shuttle to the pole where ships are parked. Fox’s the problem. There for more than an hour, it’s moved. You don’t lose ship, but it only blocks up the valuable area for an hour max.
  16. Two things... 1. Beta (some would say alpha, either way not release) 2. You probably haven’t lost your ship. And if it is only a 600k ship it won’t cost much to fix with scrap. Find it’s locati N in your constructs under map, go to it, make some scrap patch it up and ready to fly again.
  17. The game does. Have issues for the casual player. There is no P2W so if you want to PvP for example you gotta do a lot of mi I g (which you probably do t want to do) first. Once you get into PvP then there isn’t really money in it, so you have to do something like mini g again to make money to continue your PvP. its the same with building and industry as well. If they are your interest, great; but to expand in them you need a lot of money, therefore mining. there needs to be ways to make money in the field you like without being a huge more. ED for example, if I like mining I can start with a real small ship and increase its size and ability over time. If I like PvP I can start out hu ting in the tiny starter ship and make money that way to get better ships. If I like trading I can zip around in my sidewinder doing little trades, until I can afford a hauler, then bigger and bigger. DU it’s must mining, and a large reason is the aim of completely player driven. @NQ are going to have to do some serious thinking on how to make game loops for different play styles which aren’t just mining no matter what your interest.
  18. I believe they were gonna ng to make industry which would take a blue print and components and push out final product. guess the problem is why would youmdo this when you can just take blue print, product and do it yourself at the press of a button currently.
  19. It will be very hard for new players if no wipe, but that will always be an issue for players joining an established game. the main problem I see is miles and miles of prime hex’s are claimed by people who are no longer in the game and are completely undeveloped, and never will be. if they don’t wipe they will at have to co e up for some solution for dead hex’s, dead constructs, etc from players who have long since left. Especially if this is supposed to be a long term MMO. no add g a new planet every time it gets fall isn’t a solution
  20. I would love it if I could find a refiner and a smelter guy who would do it for a reasonable price. did I mention 640 day que of talents. I could cut that back seriously and focus on my stuff if I had a refiner or a smelter who could supply. it would be great. but the problem is every extra person adds an extra cut, could I still be competing? also the game doesn’t have automatic deliveries, and never will. So I’d have to go to the market just as much unless I find a guy who delivers. imhad high hopes for missions that I could put in orders for stuff like purée delivered to me.
  21. Destroying one player types fun to fix a different one isn’t the solution. Plus the people who are that invested into time playing the game are probably going to have alts etc so will be able to still run their big factories. in the market the small specialists has an advantage over the huge specialist anyhow, as the huge one needs to buy huge amounts of ore each game session, so is unable to take advantage of the cheap smaller listings in the market compared to the smaller guy who since he requires a lot less can pick up some of the small deals. Im not huge, you know work and other RL stuff limit game time, but I make a lot of honeycomb and therefore go through a lot of ore. Because of this when shopping I have to go to a market which has a big amount available, rather than pick up some of the smaller deals often listed at a better price. therefore somebody smaller than me making the same product who is specialised in that product can produce cheaper than me
  22. Be cooler if there was no limit, just diminishing returns, but then again if you plot that, there is still a realistic end point. Oh and catalysis when you get more out than you put in is just broken lol
  23. Hahaha, my Talent que for industry is over 600 days long! If you run a mega factory which can make everything efficiently either you have a hell of a lot of alts training in parallel, or you’ve got a lot of people you’ve convinced tomstart certain machines for you, which then takes a lot of co-ordination to keep going and increasing.
  24. I think the game will struggle on for a while. Not sure if it will survive. i think the best thing they could do at this stage would be hire somebody who talks to the developers daily, and is allowed to and does talk to the community about what is happening. Weekly updates on what is happening in the background, even if it is working on something we won’t see for ages. This is a beta not a release game. Tell us what they want to test, what is being developed. Treat it as a beta not as a released game. more quanta for game loops which aren’t mining. They are developing new new stuff for planets etc. It’s a beta, add a new planet every now and then to test it, tell us this planet is very test, and will disappear in two weeks so there new stuff gets a better test rather than by the Li tied numbers who use the PTS. refresh the PTS weekly so people can use it to theory craft and try things out. lots of things they could do to increase its odds of survival, but I personally believe the biggest they could do is get a few staff so they have 24/7/365 staff who can chat on discord about what is happening, help with issues, and make us believe they are actually still doing stuff.
