I would consider spending more time ingame if I could offer jobs to have ressources / items delivered to a place of my choice.
Having to taxi to the markets and back is not what I want as a playstyle.
Is there any schedule regarding the ingame mission system?

Ok,
so after checking out the PTS today for the very first time I'd like to share my impressions - more info to come in the https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/forum/50-public-test-server-feedback/
- it's fun to play around without restrictions money or item wise
- this today was my very first time to go to space with a bought ship - doesn't sound too awesome, you say - I says given my limited time played including an org that was ok-ish for me
- I wish the PTS was available more often. I do not like the implementation of the schematics in it's current form at all, so not having that restriction moneywise is a nice, good old feeling for an industrialist

Hi,
I am not sure about the forum rules here - do they allow such a comparision?
What is the uniqueness of DU compared to said other games?
I do find the community in DU very good compared to some other games. However lacking any real game time experience with Starbase, Avorion, Space Engineers I am not the one to compare or judge.
-
this is what I was interested in when I first heard of DU:
-
General notice:
on the good side I want this to work fine in the end.
When I started in DU there were so many positive ideas and experiences.
- the community I got in touch with being the most positive part
- the overall good working scope for a fresh beta version coming out of alpha - so many things were already included and have mostly been intuitive for me to use
- the promise of a sandbox - voxels, Lua, machines - NQ is giving the players the tools, then it`s up to the community
- custom built Space elevators !
- single shard universe / the technical background & system to avoid performance issues that are actually - at least for me - currently happening -> fail in that regard at the moment
For me the most important thing to keep in mind is:
This is a multiplayer game at heart.
Solo player will not have that much fun, imho.

Hello @Dhara
that's the same for me.
After a leave I am trying to get back into the game.
The largest change in mindset for me being that DU is featured as a multiplayer game.
I could understand that in this respect the single player experience is lacking.
It was fun to be able to do industry in a reasonable fashion as a solo player before introduction of schematics.
Even the price reduction was for me not the real deal - schematics are staying, whatever the price might be for them.

top notch, this is what I was looking for:

Thanks for letting us know. The team is looking into this, but if anyone else wants to add any scenarios they've noticed this, please do.
@NQ-Naerais:
there you go, it happened yesterday:

Hello @Yamamoto and @blazemonger,
cheers for your fast reply and suggestions.
I have checked the video link.
I have attached my settings after the thread change.
Shadows had already been set to "low".
PC system spec

GTX 1070 8 GByte VRAM @4K always at 100% maxed out (tried Full HD as well) > edit: 4K averages at 24 fps (nothing around my avatar but a few constructs)
- latest NVIDIA GPU drivers
- fps counter via NVIDIA overlay
- 1TByte NVME SSD
- 32 MBit wired internet connection
- 48 GByte RAM
I am thinking of tweaking the V-Sync option as well.
What is most annoying besides the lag are the pop-in's:
- Traveling from place A (own tile, 1 construct, 2 ships) to B (district) > about 1 Minute at least before all items are completely visible. The internet connection is at 100% utilization.
- Traveling from place B back to A, distance about 30 KM > pop-in takes ages again. No caching?
RAM usage increases above 24 GBytes.

Hello,
after a couple of months of absence I have logged into the latest beta:
is the performance really this bad, lets say around Alioth / the Districts?
Where does the underlying technology kick in to prevent exactly this - single shard und ramping up the server power, etc?
-
This is going to be a collection industry supporting tools as I am searching around; ideally there is a tool available which automatically tells all the necessary assembling items etc. for a given product to be created
- no saving yet etc. but looks like a good idea; some kind of quality of life included
- this one is all manual
https://github.com/yamamushi/dumap
- any idea how this works?
- Crafting calculator, and other items

Hello,
thank you for your work.
I am starting myself to get back into industry (the schematics made me turn away initially).
I am doing some searching about existing solutions. As you mentioned Hyperion, dual.sh I was looking into

any idea how this works?
Crafting calculator, and other items

Hello Context,
yes, the human interaction is the point here.
I was fascinated when I saw some DIY Space Elevators, hence my interest in some more machinery trickery.
Is not supposed to have user's suggestions entered?

Danke für die Info.
Ja, als Idee zum Selberbasteln klingt das verlockend. Andere Weltraumspiele haben Rest Stops von Haus aus als Spielelement.
Selbst darf man keinen Neuerervorschlag einreichen?
-
Hi,
kann man das Nachtanken und Reparieren automatisieren?
Und dann gleich den Credit Betrag abbuchen lassen?
-
Is it possible to player-build a Rest Stop / Machine for automatic ship refuel and repair?
Like a landing pad with an automatic credit deduction?
-
Hi,
I am not sure if this is the proper sub-forum for this:
What is the point of having "Schematics" versus "Recipies"?
Will there be any more such "fun-breaking" changes in the future?
I am really not happy about the need having to baby-sit the factory and wasting reallife time for something like this.

Hi,
I have read of transparent screen units - are they available?
I am thinking of something like ads / billboards of the sci-fi classics / games of your choice.
-
Thank you,
I will give it a try.
Another question came up:
Is there a limit to the amount of 1 avatars active / deployed cores?
-
Hi,
I am driving:- Ryzen 5 3600 - standard clock
- 48 GByte RAM
- Nvidia GTX 1070 8 GByte RAM - 4K resolution
- 1 TByte SSD M.2
- Win 10 64 Bit
What I found so far:1. The overall performance in 4K is laggy (I know, the GPU is at 100 %).
How can this be tweaked given the few options in DU?
2. The initial loading time is several minutes.
Is this limited due to my low internet speed? Connection is less than 50 MBit/s.Or is my SSD too slow? It shows a read speed of about 120 MByte/s during loading.
3. RAM usage
The highest I got yesterday was 36 GByte usage alone for DU. Is this normal? I was flying around into an area with a lot of buildings.4. How is the local cache being used? Once I saw a usage of 48 GBytes. After the last patch it was below 5 GBytes.
Cheers
Game's to fill the void inside us between tests and until release!

Hello,
a large shout out and thank you to @PurplePanda for taking the time of compiling the list.
Asked in a friendly way:
What is the advantage / usp of DU given this plethora of alternatives?
For me DU was:
