Option 42..... call your corp mates to bust u out..... tis divergent game  play after all :)

You best believe that if someone tried to 'imprison' me I'm calling in every last reinforcement and favour to destroy every single one of them involved.

And if any of them survive then a hefty bounty will be placed on their heads.

    Diverge that!

  2. If some ones holding me prisoner for 1 day then that means I'm paying for something that I can't use, a full day of DU gameplay. That's just wrong in my eyes

If someone is misbehaving in a player built city then we don't need prison mechanics, they will be dealt with on the spot by either confrontation/resolution or death by the people involved or people running the city.

When it comes to subjects such as this we always seem to forget that DU is a game and not real life. We can't have every real life service in-game, it's just not possible.

  3. /suicide

Holding a player against their will could be a breach of the T&C/EULA of the game. Could be seen as trolling/bullying to some extent, which would require NQ to intervene.

I know I would be pissed if I only had a few hours a day to play and somebody decided to hold me prisoner as part of their 'role-playing'.

I would find it better to be able to determine, as a legate, which information of my organization is visible.

At the moment on the community portal all information regarding who is in what organisation is public. And the API would collect all public data.

In the future NQ might implement a feature to hide certain members in an organisation, or even hide a full organisation itself, from public view.

This API would possibly take things like that I to account, but for the time being it would collect all data.

  5. Multi different GPU support is possible with DX12, but it all depends if NQ want to add support.

Whoknows how much of a complex job it might be for a game such as DU to implement it, or if it's even 100% possible

Anyway, your best bet with the budget you've got is to look for a GTX 1060 6GB (or 1070 if you can stretch or want SLI in the future) they can be picked up for around £240, and spend the rest on another 8GB of RAM.

A GTX 1060 will be fine with your 600w PSU as well.

You can always look at the CPU and MoBo at a later date once you've saved up more :)

Edit: Also CUDA is an API used by programs (such as Blender) to enable it to use the GPUs power for other tasks, such as rendering

  6. I admit it does look better and there seems to be enough content for an Early Access game now. I might give it a look again in the next few patches, see how it progresses.

I've still lost confidence in them as a developer because of the lies, but this is starting to pull them up the scale slightly.

  7. From the latest Dev Diary we have been shown screen units, but we haven't been shown physical how big they are or of they are scaleable yet.

We should get somewhat of an answer about this when the alpha drops in a month or so. Hopefully NQ will be putting an idea forum in place too to help manage requests like this too :)

  8. Why list orgs when we have the community portal which is going to be integrated into the game anyway? I mean there are 1500+ orgs, who decides which orgs make it into the list?

As a compromise i'd say big cities, places of interest, and general nice places to visit should be added to a separate section of the wiki so you can distinguish between the 2 easily. Even if you put a little history into the page about which org built/run/found the area then that's fine, it all adds to the player experience. And, as others have said, new players can find these places easily.

Also this would need some form of rules set to be able to add it to the list, like it's needs to be of a minimum size or a minimum number of player visits a day, I don't know just examples :)

If not then the list could be endless and very daunting for anyone let alone new players.

Everybody has a Steam account, it's like the lowest bar you can set for being a PC Gamer
