Scanning at this stage of the game, most players will have container augmentation talents at 5, and have had plenty of time to accumulate scanners and cores, so players can now easily scan with multiple cores and scanners. I'm using 7 small cores and 21 scanners, to scan a super-flower at once. Actually, by the time I have started scanners on the 7th core, the scanners on the 1st are ready to be read. So I can keep busy while 15 minute counters go to zero, but so is the server.

What if there were a new element for scanning which could scan the whole super-flower at once, with just one element? I could scan in a radius, with a max range dictated by talents, returning results for all tiles within its range. Obviously, the longer the range, the longer for scan results to return. It should be possible for a player with the current scanners - or a smaller radius setting - to ninja someone using the system I'm proposing here. So there is a risk using a larger diameter scanning area. You wouldn't get any results until you finished the scan. The scan time versus diameter could be adjusted to give results in about the same amount of time players can achieve now with multiple cores and scanners.

Would that not mean the people would just grab the resource forever quicker?  At least there is a time factor now?

Missions dont give enough reward for cost currently.  Ammo/Fuel/Voxels the cost outweighs the time/effort to do the action.  You can do afk hauling missions which has little risk for greater reward.  Plus Safezone hauling missions as well.  Radar is too small to promote PvP conflict thus PvE missions need adjustment for reward.

Bugs encountered.  Ported 10000's SU but  stuck and mission stuck.  Mission ended and ship and 2 out of 3 ported back.  1 stuck 1000's away lol

Mobs warp too you there for you cannot vent or active gameplay.  it is more standing still shooting mobs (escalating).  Using bigger voxels mean greater cost and deplatiing ammo.  Mobs need to move like ships, chances to vent to engage etc.

KT limit could it scale? 2KT is nothing.  Couldnt use some pretty ships in PvE and really wanted to test a flagship out even if it is for 9m reward for a bit of fun

    Thats it for now :)

NQ has plenty of money.  Because if they needed money they would have a cash shop selling skins, or selling dac. Heck they dont even allow you to buy additional time on Steam. Nore can you buy additional time on NQ's site to gift to your friend.  Only place you can buy additional time is a 3rd party that takes 10% commision.

I mean NQ would be pretty stupid if they needed money and had everything setup the way that they do.

Well they were going to sell DACS but now theres so much Quanta it would be silly.... (missions etc)

  4. Good for you :).  See one of the key issues is radars are 2SU range maybe if they fix radars someone may catch you?  Its far more risky currently to go asteroid mining than hauling missions (which make silly quanta).

I wonder who these pirates are...

Also it was not highly abused. This is a pure mental misconception.  If this was the case we would see allot more Ilmenite on the market then columbite an rhodonite and vanadiite.  All the numbers look to be about the same.  If this was the case we would see allot more Cobaltite and Cryolie then Gold and Kolbeckite on the market.  This is not the case the numbers are about the same.  Sure gold prices are a bit higher, but thats always been the case for gold.

And if the thought that calibrating like this was adding to much more into the game. When the new planets get added in All those calibration points are now gong to be put towards full flowers which will add in 10 times the amount that this "abused" mechanic added in. I mean unless NQ does something crazy like only adding 3 or 4 flowers to these new planets.

People need to stop worrying about what other people have, and worry about what they have.

Actually a number of people I do know have sold a lot of ore gained from calibrating high tier ore.   Ore is something people hold onto it isnt always a case of selling it at least onto markets that is.  Prices are rising more recently because the mining calibrations issue may have been resolved.  Of course calibrations apply to more alts needed to sustain.

Either way it was overused and abused IMO.  I know of a number of people with a lot of T5's T4s (not in my org) who firmly used it.  I did wonder why they dont armour their ships etc but they holding back until CCS/Voxels are worth it again

Billions from selling Titanium? since thats the only T5  that you can currently calibrate in game. And the only thing you can make with that is Mining units, Scrap, and honeycomb.  Now Cryolite and Cobaltite are the ony 2 T4's that you can calibrate with. Which you would need to calibrate 3,000,000l of the stuff to get billions.

I have no doubt that the friends you know have billions of quanta. But I doubt they made those billions by single calibration tiles. Did they make a profit from being able to do so? yes. But they would have made more with those calibrations if they had a proper flower setup.

The only people this change helps is people who where early and got proper tiles setup in the first place. But it hurts so many more people who formed there entire game play from calibration hexes.

Not friends but people do like to show off.  Correct they have done so and even some prominent people have shown off how much of ores they have managed to grab via this bug/unintended issue.  Cobalite is certainly 1 used in Rare stuff so it is in high demand.  T5's not so much except fo hoarding or making honeycomb.   Of course someone had to make the quanta to pay them and done via missions.

This post is sofar from reality that i cannot even start to comment this, but apparently you dont know about the cast and time sinks that are also in place and that the now scrapped mechanism was the only thing still keeping industry viable.

Except it was highly abused.  I know of multiple people who have billions made from high tier ore farms that had 1/2 l of T4/5.  It was not intended gameplay and NQ had to do something to balance the economy before it was too late.

What if you made every tile in safe space except possibly Haven have a good supply of a single random T2 ore and maybe a trace amount of a single random supply of T3 ore. This would boost market sales, community cooperation and also even out the balance gap of players who were able to lock in on the few good tiles currently available without  adding more planets that would only further dilute the population. This will give every player including the very importation new people access to some advancement in manufacturing progression from T1 to T2 items while also encouraging  PVP action  for access to the more advance ore's.

Not too bad of an idea.  Even 70l an hour would be sufficent of T2 for one players needs and that way they can fly to space by making space fuel.

  9. Its a very good fix IMO.  Its insane someone sitting on Billions of Quanta all from Safezone mining on a calibration charge bug/issue.  Clearly NQ took feedback from beta and saw the economy numbers shoot up to a worrying/conserning level so early on that they had to fix it or make it a priority fix.

High tier ores were supposed to be risk/reward and now we can still grab them from asteroids.  Honestly did people think it is totally fine via gamey gameplay?

Hey NQ, I'm sure not everyone will agree with me but there is a fair amount of us that really want to love and believe in this game.

I am worried however, I like to think I'm one of your biggest supporters, and i am working hard to keep that positivity alive. I try to look to the positive every chance I get... and I try to give you guys the benefit of the doubt because I can't imagine the strain and difficulties you guys face.

Despite my dedication has been shaken a few times, I'm still here. I still am a supporter. Proudly.

However, I am asking/begging you to give the members of this community the voice they want to talk to NQ and know that they are heard. CCP did this with the interstellar Council.... give some of us the chance to be involved to represent the player base.. to give our teammates the answers they want and desire, to raise the concerns we have to you and know they are being addressed. It's one thing to say these things and occasionally get an answer or a side step, but we could do so much better. Admittedly without someone even acknowledging our posts in here we don't even know if you guys read them.

I want to believe in DU... but the relationship between NQ and the player base is becoming more like a tumultuous relationship between management and the employees. The player base isn't going to feel represented by a Shamsie.. or someone who is out of touch with most aspects of the game. I mean, when asked about issues regarding pvp a rep of NQ seemingly had no idea how pvp even occured. I don't mean that disrespectfully... but let us help! We want to... and if this game is going to succeed we can't be treated or be made to feel like employees who are gonna stick by the company. Which we are not.

    My solution.

Implement a 5 person council of sorts that meets occasionally. Has a direct line to NQ and you can ping your updates/changes off. Like for instance you guys are talking about tactical map... I'm concerned as far as what that could mean or be used for. It makes me concerned over a pvp disconnect here...

This council would be active members of the community or are apart of larger organizations and bring thier perceptions from those organizations to NQ. This may mean some more secret new directions being revealed but also could be a saving grace if the plan is absolutely terrible and not going to be well received. It may help to have insight from those of us who actually play. We want to help and support you.

I beg you to take this request seriously. We are still in your corner.

Its not a bad idea but I think they had this the ATV Server if I recall and stuff ended up just being leaked or used to their advantage.  You are correct that other MMO's do that it.  I wouldnt be surprised if some groups do talk to NQ but we dont just know it!

  11. I'm honestly a bit sad.  I REALLY am rooting for you here NQ but the presentation of this very important stream was dire.  This was an opportunity to show case 'and upcoming in DU' with showing glimmers of the new content by actually showing it in game on your test bed or through a video.  We need that WOW factor, we need that excitement.  Stream turned into looking at IC's starport and random talk.  Now if this stream was just a random one without tied to how important it was it would be fine.

Anyway good luck :) some of the new stuff looks interesting and quality of life changes. I guess I'm used to other MMO's too much and how they get people onboard.

I suspect that NQ is not greatly upset about players paying 50 subs to have enough alts to stack lucrative missions. That might even be key their business plan.

Perhaps but even in my org people can join one mission hauler and earn a lot of quanta.  Yep my toon will be out of action for a bit but still easy quanta overall for little risk.
