I'll say it again....THIS GAME NEEDS PvE...DESPERATELY! PvP has failed. Now it's a resource gathering/building game. PvE is badly needed!
 

1) Immediately suspend all schematic purchases. Make the price for all of the schematics $0 and refund all schematic purchases. Set a vendor at each planets most popular market that will have all schematics and allow each person to grab as many as they want for 30 days. After 30 days schematics sales can resume on the market at much lower prices. Any schematics claimed by a person since .23 will have no resale value.

2) Send an e-mail out to every DU customer for the last year and inform them of such changes.

3) Completely revamp the entire new player experience. Include in this new experience more and better rewards for doing the tutorials, classic quest givers that show people how to mine underground and upgrade their speeder. Rewards can be anything from cosmetic skins for their territory claims or speeder, tool, extra quanta, ores, containers and industrial machines. Get this done in time for the holiday shopping season, ie the second week of November. 

4) Send an e-mail to every DU customer for the last year notifying them of such changes.

5) go on an advertising blitz to sell games for the holidays. Include in this blitz new promo videos that are REALISTIC AND ACTUAL GAMEPLAY, not some fanciful stuff that is no where near completion.

6) Re-monetize your game for the holiday season. Sell the game for $9.99 U.S. with a one month subscription included. Add more options, especially a monthly option to subscription plans. Add various subscription plans that include bonuses such as ships, skins, quanta and pets for extra money tied to the game in the form of longer subscriptions or a higher base price. open a cash shop that is STRICKLY PAY FOR FUN. In this shop can be pets, skins, quanta and various other items.

7) Provided all goes well and subscribers and game sales increase a fair amount provide a roadmap for 2022 that schedules major updates every three months which shall include the many things that the player base has been asking for.

This list is not at all comprehensive. I keep hearing how this game has so much potential, but potential isn't the only thing that a game needs to survive and thrive, and one of those things is listening to and acting on what the people playing the game want and need.

Excellent game, and EVERY DU Dev should be playing it. 

They trashed any actual gameplay loops to give a reach around to the end game content and PVP orgs instead of addressing the core of the game like higher tier ore regeneration and the new player experience. Who cares about brutes bashing their faces against each other  when market tools are trash you cant create missions as an org. No way to insure a package other than collateral making people pay 300mil for a 100k profit. This game is a joke when it comes to prioritizing the order of importance. Why is there no deep surface mining experience, caves generate below -6000m why cant we explore those and get resources.  NQ needs to stop listening to the PVP orgs and make the game FUN.

The roadmap is achievable because its practically empty. This was honestly more disappointing than not releasing a roadmap. At least then we would hope for more girthy teasers.

no no no....that's ACTUAL game development....they are gonna leave it up to the players remember? 

For me the big positive is that the roadmap as it is now presented is much more achievable for NQ and inline with their progress so far. It feels like that, with JC out of the way, they are coming around to not overpromising all the fancy things but committing to what they can achieve. And that is certainly good.
 
On the other hand, asteroids without AvA/AvC mechanics really do not make much sense. Once you get a character on the asteroid you are entirely safe, you dig a hole, drop a core and a container and start mining. your container is safe from harm until the area is clear  to be collected. Potentially, this could be interesting for missions though, you mine out the asteroid, then leave a hauler mission for someone to bring it home and the collateral covers any risk..

From what was "promised" in December by JC most is now not even mentioned. There is no word on:
Energy and power management Player Markets Vertex Editor AvA / AvC / CvA Pets Assembly facilities / Mass construction Territory Warfare Second Solar System Stargates  
 
So indeed, there is good and not so great.. And a fair indication that "release" is at least two years away

As mentioned in the forum rules (III. Prohibited actions, 13th point):

As the whole idea of this topic is to make the discussion political, it will be now locked.
You're free to comment on liking (or not) some parts of the current gameplay, and it can be beneficial to improve the system, but don't start to bring politics into it, or make some assumptions about a potential political agenda behind it. There is none. The game offers possibilities, maybe not all those each player would like to see, but in the long run, the goal is (and has always been) to aim  to give players as many possibilities as possible. If it will become more limited than expected, it will be essentially due to time, balance or technical constraints, nothing more.

There are (as far as I know) no politicians in this thread - but there are a number of attempts to redefine well understood terms into those typically used by politicians. I frankly blame the ignorance and outright stupidity of the listeners that this stuff is even viable.

The capitalist in me thinks this thread should stay up, because i like where it's going, and it benefits me.

Exactly. Being born and raised in one of the more socialistic countries in Europe with a higher Per capita income then most. Some of the stuff that happens in for example US, to us seems bat shit crazy and Orwellian. Or to put it frankly, their notion of freedom seem to be skin-deep compared to the legal rights and protections we take for granted here.
 
And as joaocordeiro also pointed out, there is no such thing as pure socialism or capitalism. Only varying degrees of both, with some countries showing signs of unhealthy large percentage in one direction or the other. But data shows that countries with strong economics and a functional public health care system tend to lean towards the socialist side.

Living in the US I can tell you the level of ignorance on social systems is quite impressive. The very fact that Bernie Sanders gets away with calling himself a Socialist is in itself proof that there is widespread ignorance on what Socialism is. The fact that you equate Communism with Socialism is more along the same line.
 
As the original post stated a location in Canada I (maybe mistakenly) assumed the poster was Canadian and maybe better educated on these things as Canadian politics are not just center right, right and extremely right which is the case in the US at present. In terms of overall political standings the Democrats for the most part barely register as a centrist party in most of what they do - center right if I am kind.
 
The US has many good things about it but still has a huge McCarthy chip on its shoulder when it comes to anything that would be considered even centrist anywhere else - still looking for commies under the bed. Still we are now talking about things like a livable wage instead of everything being business centric so maybe there is some hope on the horizon with respect to some sanity and moderation.
