  1. The ACS Brew Pub Azura's Star Alpha Centauri Sigma (ACS) Picard's Pit Stop
  2. Ignore this, lack of wifi made it post after Nyzaltar
  3. To build myself a Star Forge?
  4. I don't mean to be that guy, but where did you get this figure from? Methinks the Arkship would be capable of holding many more people.
  5. Yup. It might not be a feature quite yet at release, but it is planned.
  6. Methinks they wouldn't be terribly difficult to find; just saturate an area with radio waves and wait till something big bounces back
  7. I was under the impression that the devs had intended for planets to orbit around their stars. If that's the case, then why shouldn't rogue planets be able to move freely?
  8. And thus, Wilks Checkov looted all the corpses on the ground and became 100,000 Credits richer
  9. Yes, and I'll be perfectly fine hiding behind cover until you've run out of ammo, and slicing you to bits Methinks adding a mildly in-depth melee combat system would be quite nice. Then I can be a sneaky bastard and assassinate people the old fashioned way
  10. Swords in a time of nukes? Why yes, I'd quite like to go around killing people with a virtually silent weapon, that requires no ammunition and can be concealed rather easily. As for lasers, no one knows how they'll work. The technology available when the game first launches would be about the same as it would be five-hundred years from now, seeing as that's when the arkship left Earth. As for your suggestions: Bio-weapons were mentioned in another thread, mostly pertaining to bio-bombs Surprisingly you're the first person who's mentioned pyrotechnics. I'd quite like a flamethrower. Viruses would be coupled with the hacking aspect. Driving herds of animals into cities sounds fun, though that makes me wonder if we should all set our turrets to shoot the wildlife too
  11. A teleporter system? Sounds a bit too OP to me. And automatic loading, while practical, also makes it kind of easy to tell who can win a battle; whoever has the most ammo. I was thinking more like you've got a box of 10,000 rounds for your gatling gun, and once that empties, you've gotta press a button to insert a new one, which takes time and thus makes you vulnerable to attack. It makes combat more dynamic
  12. Hashing out ship classes isn't really important right now as every faction will classify their ships differently than the next. What I call a Battleship, you might call something else. However, there will prolly be a certain class of ship that comes about that everyone will recognize: Captial Ships/Flagships I forsee many of the big corporations and nations that pop up in the game will have a Flagship that, while it might fit any other ship class, is set apart because it's their best ship. It's the ship you see on recruitment ads and such that say: "Join us, we're powerful! Just look at this ship we made, isn't it awesome?". Ships like these would probably be known throughout the universe, if not in specifications then at least in name. I remember someone wanting to make a ship called Mjolnir, that had a giant lightning cannon along it's spine. It really piqued my interest into ships of such a scale. Ships like this wouldn't have a class, simply a name. I'd like to hear about your ideas for future Flagships
  13. I don't think you should compare NMS to Dual. The two games are fundamentally different. NMS was meant to be based around exploring a massive universe at your own pace Dual is meant to be a place for people to come together and create great things, and to fly them and achieve great feats.
  14. https://soundcloud.com/ashton-etheredge/memories I made this, dunno what to put it up to though. Maybe drifting in space, or in orbit of a planet?
  15. Light weapons and pulse weapons are effectively the same thing. And nukes are a bit OP, but I'm not averse to the idea of blowing up your ship when you're surrounded by enemies.
  16. There's a 20km wide "No-kill" zone around the Arkship, so new players ought to be just fine until they leave it.
  17. Why shouldn't blueprints be a thing? It'd make the game more immersive, not to mention the fact that it opens an entirely new market for industrial corporations. A builder wants to sell his design to a corporation so that they might mass produce it, and he'll get 20% of the profit. I say, let him. Blueprints make it easier for builders to keep track of their constructs, and it can make them money. Welcome to the forums, btw.
  18. I'll prolly have ships similar to those in Pardus If you don't know what Pardus is, it's a free browser game in space, which is surprisingly similar to dual, in terms of emergent politics/economy. The graphics are a bit primitive but it's still a fun time-killer.
  19. Too busy? It's THEIR JOB to fix bugs in the game they've created. If they don't "have time" to do that, then they've failed as game developers
