  1. Currently there is a way to exploit a NQ louse end and control both piloting and 1 combat seat. But it involves allot of lua, lowers game performance and is very likely to be "fixed"
  2. Maybe they could transform current betta subscription time into release subscription time at a discount. Like 2 months now = 3 months after release.
  3. There are 2 models of doing this. The 1st is with stable product with API calls and documentation. The 2nd is with a pure code dump and a message saying "this is what we have" I dont think DU's tech is ready for the 1st. And licensing does not fit the 2nd. But in general, thank you for your insights and your hope. PS: Good luck keeping this thread up...
  4. You evil mind, hahaha. Nice one. This game should change its name to. Exploit Universe. "A game where your ability to find exploit will give you an advantage"
  5. This is a simple solution for a complicated problem. If we do it your way we are nailing the coffin. There are several consequences of a wipe right now: 1. Current player base will feel betrayed on the promise made of "no more wipes" and will see their efforts, their vacation days taken just to play this, wiped. This will make sure most of the current players will never come back. 2. Everyone will see soft beta launch as a way to force subscription money in. And will assume it was a lie from the start. Adding "layers" to the list of NQ adjectives. 3. Without a decent plan on how ingame economy can work in harmony(and we dont have one) we will probably see something similar happen after the wipe. Not fixing the problem and giving strength to the idea that NQ cant fix this. This does not mean i dont agree with a wipe. But not now, and not frequent. What i think NQ should do is to admit that beta release was not ready for "soft release" and announce a single wipe at 1.0 release. If we are properly informed that current player progress will not matter after game release, current "injustices" will not have any significance. It all becomes part of "beta testing". After this announcement. NQ will be free to give or take any advantage to any player without social consequences. If they wana give a guns to every player to do proper pvp test, they can. If they want to reset some org's wallet, they can. No wipe is needed, only one before release l.
  6. Sure calling a moderate youtuber an "idiot" without offering a single line justifying why, is what we need to pay atention to. Saying that he is "gone" and that we can see him in Starbase is also something we should pay atention too. He is steaming so hard is difficult to understand any constructive idea he has. And its not up to us to filter it. There are far better ppl here to read. I dont agree with blazemonger in many topics. But he tries hard to skip the BS and steaming and offer solutions.
  7. Nice to see most of you agreeing on what I have been saying for a while. Lets see if this new managment will have some professionals or if we get more of the same with some kind of JC 2.0
  8. From a technical point of view, every game should have a wipe at release date. But NQ decided to cash in beta subscriptions with the promise and threat that the game clock had already started and ppl not in would be left behind....
  9. You ok? That youtuber does not say things are bad or good. Just says the situation is unknown. How is that despicable?
  10. Either you understand game development and programing in general far better then me or its the opposite. To me, games can change the engine. Or, they can learn from other's code how to create aditional layers of logic on top of the engine they have.
  11. I dont agree. There are allot of things working perfectly. Some we can see, others we cannot. The game deals with recursive referencials very well. ( a player can be moving on a construct moving inside another construct...) Lua part works well. The entire interconnection between lua and piloting has value. Server side to client data transfer works well. I dont think the game failed because of bugs. Other games with more bugs are being successful. The game is simply not fun to play. And it was made that way tnx to management decisions. As an example. Empyrion could use the client tech. They discart all the MMO part of it and also the dynamic voxels and use the client side of DU to render and calculate physics. That way players would be able to walk on moving ships. Even if the tech is unusable, it still has value for other companies to learn how it was done.
  12. The chances our founder and alpha packs being worth something are looking grim. But the technology will be sold and reused. Maybe we will have a great game after all. But from another company.
  13. Depends on how bad the situation is. If the shareholders come together and change the CEO then yes. A press report would/should be out. If the CEO was replaced by order of a judge in the sequence of a nasty lawsuit. Then any communication is a liability that can have a legal consequence.
  14. Well @Daphne Jones this news are to important for your issues with blaze to matter. You asked for a source, i gave it to you. About the news. I hope its true. The current situation is unsustainable. The technology has great value. If this company succeeds under new management or if it sells the tech ot is batter than this limbo state.
  15. If the pirates encounter a ship in the pvp zone and the owner is 100% responsible for it being there. Then it's with in the rules. If the pirates find the ship outside the pvp zone. Then its against the rules.
  16. But still increases the gap between a lone player and a big org.... But those "god like tychoons" the OP complained about are not run by a single player... It takes a lot of players to max efficiency in all steps and to manage all the logistics involved. Your solution does not solve OP's problem... It intensifies it.
  17. The Parenting topic was created as an unnecessary explanation of a rule that long existed. There was a rule, long before beta started, saying that because the game did not offer mechanisms for players to defend themselves from other players abuses in the PVP free zone, all actions against another player or its constructs in the PVP free zone were considered against the rules and bannable. Based on this, NQ should have started to distribute bans when the parenting issue started. Instead, they went with a "warning" and created that topic. Now, ppl are asking for another topic to explain something really simple to understand. "Any action against another player or its constructs in a PVP-free zone is against the rules".
  18. Your question is only necessary if you want to be in the limit of the rules. For most of us its simple: If you are being "hostile" to a player on a pvp-free zone, you are breaking the rules. Trasporting any player or construct without that player/owner permission, is being hostile. If you have a issue with some ship on your plot, you can parent it and move it outside of the plot. That is OK. But moving it to a PVP zone is 100% hostile. Also, its not easy to make a comprehensive set of rules specifying all cases..... Laws say "killing is a crime" but according to your request, they should say "killing with a knife, on a swimming pool is a crime". It is fairly simple to understand what is a bug and a exploit. In doubt, dont use it....
  19. The game and the technology, yes. The management nope.
  20. Lol thats the exact type of thinking that lead us to this place... How about we stop for a second before typing simple solutions for complicated problems and think how we would implement them and how that implementation would kill the game even faster for lone players? If any limit is set to a single player, a group of players will overcome the limit and have another huge advantage over those single players. So you are suggesting a intensification of the problem, not the fix....
  21. 1 - Markets have to have a virtual garage. A big square on the floor where ships land on that will automatically despawn the ship after a few seconds. With a terminal to spawn those again on the square. Any ship parked inside of the market hex but outside of the square(s) will be "moved" into the virtual garage after 2 hours of idle, but with a quanta ticket for bad parking. Make this mechanism availabe to players with some expensive element that can be placed on a base. 2 - Ships that are not in Virtual garage and inside any safezone (being pvp free territory or a protected hex in a pvp zone) have to pay a tax to the owner of the hex. That tax is related to the ship voxel and element quantity. That should happen even if the hex is unclaimed or of the ship is in space. When the quanta runs out, the ship gets in abandoned state. With this 2 mechanics, ppl could despawn their constructs from the game on long AFK or park them in their hex for free. And they would be penalized for not doing so.
  22. Look. The game is in a bad state. And will. Probably never become good. But you are talking like you were deceived. Are you for real? How about you start acting like a grown-up and take some responsibility for your actions? There have been many, many, treads in this forum and videos on YouTube explaining in detail all the things you are complaining about. You could have informed yourself. How the hell did you not knew you were signing up for BETA? Also, you are not buying a car... Its 20 dollars... There are ppl here that signed up with 400 dollars, before alpha. I payed 120€. Me and those guys invested in this when NDA was in place. We have could have a reason to feel deceived. You are just overreacting to the frustration of a bad decision you made wrong because you failed to get informed....
  23. That is not true... A good amount of critical mechanics and decisions failed. Making the game fail. But some things were made great. For a voxel dynamic game, colision is working (unlike empyrion). I love how sound changes when we enter a construct, even being dynamically constructed. I love to walk around my ship and look at the window, while orbiting at low altitude or leaving a planet. Almost feels like i can grab the atmosphere. I like the scanner mechanism to find ore. With the lines and with the distance. Looks quite good and works well. I like engineering report on constructs. I like the lua scripting and the screens with html. Do those pearls make the game viable. Nope. But it is unfair to say that everything failed.
  24. One thing i dont see Empyrion do is allowing players to walk on constructs during flight. Or being MMO. But yea it does a lot of things better like game balance.
  25. Im quite sure you were there back in 2016 making a post similar to this one on NMS forums.
