I'd like to create an artificial asteroid, but i cant seem to place materials in space. All i get is "invalid construct" when i try.

Am i doing it wrong or is there a workaround that does not involve me building a 250km long artificial mountain from the planet and up? ?

You need already existing terrain as a nucleation point to use your terrain tools on. Currently creating artificial asteroids is not possible and is unlikely to change soon. Finding an already existing asteroid and shaping it up how you like it is your best bet, but those currently only exist around Thades. Space asteroids coming in a future patch near you! (Hopefully sooner than later)

well, there would be the extremely inefficient way of stacking earth up from the ground, dunno if there is a heigth limit tho.

+100m from initial NQ decided height is max limit for planetary voxels.

Without a way to detect terrain (as you can detect constructs with radars) I'd say that's a feature we are not going to see, one could easily create a barrier of thousands of little rocks and lockout an entire planet.

An entire planet?....O_O

We perhaps have different definitions of the word “easily”
