Message 'CPU does not support AVX instruction set'

Today i buy the sponsor pack, but when i try to install the game, i got the message: "CPU does not support AVX instruction set. Application shut down".  I have a 6 month old i7 3 GHz Windows 10 PC, all other games are running fine.

System-Info shows me Intel64 Family 6 Model 26 Stepping 5 GenuineIntel 3068 MHz, i7 CPU, 4 Cores. Is it possible that AVX is disabled in the bios? What can i do?

Could you tell us what the precise CPU is?  Dual Universe requires AVX.

Maybe the motherboard and BIOS version would be useful as well... if it is a bios thing.  However, I’m pretty sure it simply means your CPU does not support AVX

That is one old CPU... sorry to say it buddy, but I don't think it supports AVX

Curious how you got a 6 month old PC with a 10 year old CPU?

I think the processor is to oldfashioned. It´s a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950  @ 3.07GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.1GHz. It´s fast enought with a good graphic card for most of the games, but - i don´t know it before - doesn´t support AVX command-set. unfortunately, it´s not possible to use the motherboard and processor socket for a newer processor. So what i know now, only way should be a new motherboard, processor, RAM and so on. Or may be cheaper, a new PC with processor which supports AVX. The Support of Novaquark wrote me also. May be there is another solution i don`t know yet.

While you may have bought it 6 months ago, it is 10 years old hardware.It will serious limit if not cripple performance of modern day GFX cards.

If it has a 10 year old CPU, it's likely to have an older GPU as well.

 

Besides, I think it could still power something like a 1050 TI or even a 1060 just fine.

True although running a PCIe 3.0 capable card on a system not supporting that is seriously limiting it's transferrate (by about 50%)

you would consider my CPU old, it is an i7 2700k Sandybridge 4 cores (8 Hyperthreads)  yet  this does have AVX

(ive OC;d it to 4.6Ghz)
