    DU OST COVER

Hello! I wanted to contribute to the community of this game in a way that wasn't only for one faction. So, I decided to cover one of Dual Universe's themes! May I proudly present to you: "Particle Horizon" à la Westworld: https://soundcloud.com/user-311181165/duel-universe NOTE: For some reason, the drums sound really watery. I'm sorry, I don't know why this has happened, but I have a feeling that it happened when I uploaded it to soundcloud.
  4. Hi Everyone, I'm wondering if there is anyone here who might want to collaborate on some fan music for Dual Universe. Nothing official, clearly, but just something fanmade that people can listen to while they're playing (or waiting for the game). I'm thinking of synth heavy music like the soundtrack for Jodorowsky's Dune: However I'm certainly not tied to that genre. Eve Online has had hundreds (or thousands) of fan made songs, and I've seen collections of fan made music distributed for people to listen to while they play: https://soundcloud.com/groups/eve-online (a small list of such music). As for software and instruments, I have the following: Ableton Suite 9 Serum Native Instruments Komplete 7 (been too lazy to upgrade) Moog Minitaur Korg Minilogue (I'm in love with this synth) Sylenth1 Guitars (Acoustic and Electric) etc. (I have tons of plugins and other instruments, I just rarely ever use them so I can't remember them off the top of my head) So, might anyone be down to collaborate on some fanmade music?
  5. Hi all, I have no clue if it is possible already but how about customization music for bases and ships, something like links or music would be a nice feature to add to a building or ship to give it more character or function. I can also imagine the added value for any peacekeeping org to have a sirene or something on their crafts or some music in trade offices. Good or bad idea? Greetz aaron

    In Game Music

Wouldn't it be great to have in game music in the game? Picture this: you're flying peacefully in space, and a lovely soundtrack comes on to increase the feeling of serenity. Also, imagine that you are being attacked. Wouldn't it be awesome to have some action music in the background? Thus doesn't have to be implemented in the game by default, but at least make it possible for people to code in the option of playing soundtracks in their suit or spaceship. -Rhino

    Music creator

Do you want to show your musical skills? Do you want a unique music for a ship, station or an entire faction? It is possible to do it without MP3 (that uses a lot of memory) by using midi creator (music studio). You can trade music and use it in various projects. The process of creation on picture (stolen from the trash game apb reloaded)
  8. Has anyone heard the OST previews on soundcloud? They are fantastic! I'm a bit of an audiophile. Music can make or break a game for me. It can make even the best moments in games even better. I don't have a favorite yet, seeing as I'm currently listening to it, but I will post as soon as I find one! Link to their soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/dualuniverse What is everyone's favorite track?
  9. General topic - what are people listening to as they think/live/breathe/plan/imagine/write DU?
  10. The soundtrack can be found here for those interested: https://soundcloud.com/dualuniverse My favorite is definitely Productivism. But I am wondering what the permissions are regarding the soundtrack from Dual Universe. Can I upload these tracks to youtube on my own channel? Are these tracks permitted to be used in other videos?
  11. Without gameplay mechanics a pub or a bar is pretty pointless in a video game. Star Wars Galaxies used buffs from music, dance, or any other entertainment to solve this. Because this the bars were crowded. They were good places to take a breather. I hope this system will make its way to DU.
  12. Per a request, I am moving this idea over to the "Idea Box", which makes a great deal of sense and probably why I didn't think of it! I believe it would be an excellent idea to have a prop, or a setting, for someone that "owns" an area to be able to connect to an outside URL for music streams. It could also work for video, but in a voxel world I am thinking that would create a lagfest, but I do not know for certain. An audio or video stream is going to be limited by the streams quality--64 kbps or 128 kbps--anyway, but I have not worked with the video side very much. What this would allow is for Clubs, Bars, Cantinas, Dives, Social Areas, to pipe in whatever music they wish. For those who know DJs with their own streams--those DJs can have live shows during the week. It also opens up things like theme parties, and the like. For those unfamiliar with the possibilities, you can go to www.radiofreegaia.com. That is a radio station for people in The Secret World with multiple DJs and themes. The only thing TSW doesn't have is the in game ability since there is no "building" there and only common areas--so the streams are accessed outside the game itself. It is just not the same experience as "in game" music. There is nothing quite like walking into a place in a virtual world and having it have its own flavor of sound. Music is a common denominator for many and can be a focal point for many people's interaction in a game.
