  1. I dont 'missunderstand' your 'type' of players, i have played solo survival games loads, this is just not one of them and trying to explain to the OP why it is not the best option in DU, IMHO. I can currently make pretty much EVERYTHING in the game on our space station but I dont choose to because it is just not worth it, my time is worth more than that. I am not saying it is 'not doable' just that it is slow and leaves you totally isolated for the civilisation you are supposed to be helping to build.
  2. Dont be too sure about that, I have actually accidentally picked up ships at market where I had just landed and managed to slip under their wings, this 100% could be an issue.
  3. I presume you havent levelled up your core limit, that would be the simple solution.
  4. Please DO NOT listen to this, this is basically tieing you to the slowest form of progression possible, because of fear of something that is months away and we dont actually know how it will be implemented, moons are HORRIFIC for ore, with the lowest levels per tile anywhere in the game. Oh and join a good org, one that gives you a bit of freedom but also some security
  5. To the OP - interested by your decision 'not to buy anything' seems a bit odd, also something that seem to be shared with a lot of people struggling to make progress, this is a civilisation building game, where players should focus on providing specific products and services, which make an income and allow to then buy further products and services off other players. It is NOT a solo survival game and anyone who plays it as such will be massively hampering their progression. Just to warn you. For this to work you will also need a territory claim as you cannot place a core on Alioth unless you have claimed the territory first. Good news is they are not expensive any more. 100% you should move off sanctuary moon and onto Alioth, Sanc moon is a safe place / starter planet designed for people to have somewhere to store there stuff and create without fear of future destruction, IT IS NOT supposed to be the place you live out your extistence. You are 100% certain? Even though the game developers and pretty much ALL the experienced player base think otherwise, that is ballsy? Sanc moon resources are a tiny fraction of those within the game, new players need to get of sanc moon asap to play the game properly. I dropped my tile on Sanc moon, it was the first thing I did at head start, not been back to it since. Same with most experienced players.
  6. Or perhaps you should both wait and see, from the livestream the other day JC REITERATED that pvp will favour the defenders and that it will be difficult to attack planet territories, he also made it clear that there will be a LOT of bonuses for owning a lot of tiles in the same location, suggesting that interior tiles of a large claimed areas would even be totally immune from attack unless exterior tiles are defeated first, showing AGAIN that they are looking for planetary pvp to be more than just bullshit offline raiding that you see in 'survival game', much more considered. Pretty clear to me that they want to give us all the tools we need to defend ourselves, or at least those of us who are working together to build civilisation. All those solos, running off to hide in the hills to be 'self sufficient' yeah they are pretty screwed lol.
  7. This IS NOT a survival game, can you find anything anywhere which presents this as a 'survival' game. It is a civilisation building game, which is completely different. Players that play it like a survival game WILL struggle, those that buy into the concept of civilisation shouldnt have an issue.
  8. Shit no, really!?!?! Where can I retract my previous statement....... lol KOS list, do you have backup then?
  9. Yeah I am interested to find out what 'baffling' game gamplay decisions have been made, tend to find statements like this are actually talking about decisions someone either doesnt understand or doesnt agree with from a personal point of view.
  10. Is that a bit like laughing at a joke you dont understand, just to fit in? I dont expect some players to believe it or understand it, but there are enough players out there with the willingness and resources to make new user experiences by the time the ore runs out (which will be a LONG time). You need to understand there are members of the community with the skills to acquire huge quantities of resources (hundreds of millions already), much of which will go into community focused projects, some of these have already started. That is no problem, some of us will make the game, some will just play it.
  11. New players at that stage will be greeted with a wealth of opportunities from the civilisation that we have built, if they choose to ignore it and go try and hermit, that is up to them.
  12. 270,000 tiles on Alioth alone (a rough estimate less than 5% of them gone), + surface ore, + other planets, + market bots (+others sources in the future). Are you basing this on anything more than a suspicion? Any actually statistical evidence it will run out, or are you just sticking your finger in the air? If it is the later, I will move along, there is nothing to see here. Oh and your ore on sanctuary moon - it is a crutch.....
  13. Are you sure it is that much, will need to pay attention next time, sure I was still only paying 120,000 and I have more than two tiles on Alioth. Would also suggest that there is a valid reason, far more likely to be something game related being put there.
  14. Not 100% sure of price increase but think I could have an area like that if I wanted..... just saying
  15. Normally I would agree but to be fair......
  16. There is no reason to be there though unless you want pvp, it isnt pvp because the only people that are getting caught are complete noobs, everyone else is avoiding it via the wide range of methods the devs have made available (or going to fight each other of course). Will say it again, you can get EVERY ore from the three planets within safe zone, you can get to EVERY other planets safe zone with a WARP DRIVE, there is zero reason to enter pvp space as the game stands. If you die to pvp at the moment it is 100% your fault, regardless of whether you died in one shot to a borg cube. The fact that the dev have made EVERYTHING in the game completely available whilst bypassing pvp should give everyone some peace of mind that they give a shit about civilisation. So lets let them get on with it.
  17. Cool that is great to know, actually gives you opinion more validity than mine in a lot of respects (I like as much pvp as possible, then avoid it lol). Also love the tone of the message, PvP is very much a placeholder at the moment but a core part of the game moving forward, any objective opinion from people interested in improving it is always appreciated. As long as the end result is risk vrs rewards with good opportunities for both defenders and attackers to be victorious then I am good. Please note that the majority of people pirates meet in pvp zones are NOT experienced players , they are noobs who do not know better. Experienced players wouldnt be in pvp zone without good reason, there is ZERO reason to go in there once you have a WD.
  18. See three other posts on topic for my opinions, think they are all on the first two pages, also just wondering have you actually experienced pvp, or just watched a video?
  19. I would suggest that the fact you are doing all this in a seamless universe which can potentially hold tens of thousands of people puts this game on a completely different level to SE or PE, not even sure how you can bring them into the conversation, not even slightly close in terms of server requirements. It has nothing to do with the 'voxels' and everything to do with the shard server tech. Also some of us who have been playing for three years would argue that optimisation is not, non exsistant, there have been massive strides made in that time and there will be more to come.
  20. Actually I think you will find that even those complaining HAVENT actually been shot at either, they are basing there drastic proposals on 'videos' lol
  21. They REALLY have communicated their vision of pvp, that it would be self governed with limited safe zones (sanctuary moon) that has been quite explicit. PvP being on the of the four pillars of the game, again they have been very explicit about that. That is it not currently ready and will not be the focus on development short term - yes they show that in the roadmap. They have also created a pvp space that is COMPLETELY avoidable, you can get everything and reach every planet WITHOUT ever having to risk pvp. All I see if people who havent understood that, now wanting it changed. We CAN speak for the devs, because the devs have actually communicated their vision of the game very well IMHO. It is just some people are choosing to completely ignore that in place of what THEY want the game to be.
  22. Pretty sure you just violated terms by posting this, not 100% sure but GG. Customer support is very stretched right now, as with any new games launch, of course this is not perfect but not sure public humiliation is the best response.
  23. Sorry, read this about 7 times and still made zero sense to me. Risking what? You dont need to risk anything at the moment, noone needs to spend a single second in pvp zone, no reason AT ALL. Unconsensual pvp in this game DOES NOT EXSIST at the moment, so the fact people are already complaining about it is bloody funny.
  24. So you didnt like a game, bought a game which is pretty much exactly similar and are now complaining that they are similar. Brilliant............... I would ask for your stuff, but not sure it is worth it.
  25. The key point here is that ANYONE getting killed by pvp has clearly no idea what they are doing, so they will be easy meat, WHY ARE THEY THERE? There is zero reason to venture into pvp area for anyone unless you know what you are doing. This actually not true, as far as I am aware whilst many of the main orgs see pvp as a key part of their org, it is only that, a part of it (from the leaders I know anyway). Most large orgs have publicly stated they are NOT interested in small scale pvp / raiding etc more the larger scale territory based warfare. Please do not act as if pvp is the KEY DRIVER for this game, it is about as far from the mark as those what to turn it into spaceville. It is one of many key elements, which needs to be balanced with the rest.
