  1. What is this devblog? Is the goal to destroy what little hype is left on the game? :(

Can you talk about the work you are doing for energy and balancing PvP?

    Where did the asteroid arrive?

Just letting the community know how you plan to put this in place in the next few months will have a lot more impact than how the jetpack works: /

Say what now? That just doesn’t make sense.

I sub for lots of things that don’t have PvP in it: Evernote, MS Office, Adobe CC, GitHub.

And I intend to have 3 accounts in this game if the prices don’t rise.

You then go on to contradict yourself by saying builders would build in the PvP zone, anyway.

Even if builders don't build in the PvP zone and only in the safe zone, adding PvP will be a great thing.

To believe that the PvP community wants 100% PvP everywhere and prevent you from building / playing is wrong.

To begin with, we are not asking for much.

Just a small isolated planet open in PvP, with T4 / T5 ores.
A fairly simplistic balancing : container linked deactivated, AGG deactivated, planet with 20 G of gravity and this will limit the harvest of the ore.

This will not impact PvE players in any way. And will let PvP players finally have a little fun.

Unless it is you who absolutely want to forbid me to play and have fun on this game?

  3. I spoke with a little streamer again tonight who plays with a group of a few people.
At the beginning so motivated that they wanted to do everything by themselves, the projects progressed then the weariness of their group as planned.
Now that they have made their main base, their piece of industry, a few ships and their showroom. What's left for them to do?

Nothing the turn of the game was over for. They are leaving now ... DU is still losing players who have been hyped.

If you are not a LUA or voxel artist, boredom happens very quickly ...

We need that promised PvP, let us have a little fun. Give us areas to attack and defend with huge amounts of resources and we're doing massive things/impresive in this game.

PvP won't prevent huge city creation just for the LULZ or to show off its power / abundance of resources ...

The one and only have keep the player these are interplayer events which keep motivated the last meager troops remaining in the game.

It is starting to become urgent to act.
More control of players, end of markets managed by bots and PvP everywhere outside Madis / thades / alioth area.
Only a few months to act before losing the most loyal ones (the new ones only stay 2 or 3 weeks ...)

  4. Why not take the problem backwards, NQ does not take action because it does not seem necessary to them.

Let's all bring an L core ship that we will leave parked as close to the market as possible. (an M core for the less wealthy among us).

    This should make things happen.

Personally I only use one market and it is not very crowded (and I don't have any lag / crash concerns).
But if this gets in my way, I will also come and park the most big ships in my possession so that everyone can enjoy them.

It looks like NQ is rushing a new patch and with them starting to release devblogs here's my prediction:

0.24 will release either 25 February or 4 March with:

    • Mission system
    • New textures/assets
    • More graphic improvements
    • Org Wallets

    And maybe

    • Asteroid mining
    • Mining units
    • further character customization

so boring if NQ doesn't do anything for PvP yet ...

  6. This lack of PvP is starting to have very negative effects on the game's population.
We are only a small group whose hearts remain motivated and present in the game but on the other hand, it is impossible to retain new players and our allied gunners for our battleships ... The hemorrhage in each other's ranks really begins to make feel.
In some groups, there is talk of a loss of 80 to 85% of active members.

More than ever, we need this kind of balance proposed by the author and especially a reason to fight.

The game hasn't had any real gameplay additions since the mid-alpha phase.

    BAHAHAHA!!!!!

Yooooooo, I only lurk around the forums and reddit now every once in a while to laugh at the 5 or so people remaining that fight each other trying to make the game their own personal playground but this is the most absurd future plan I have seen since 0.23.

That is the next best thing just short of a wipe they can do before their heads disconnect from their necks because it would be too far gone up their bums. The game is slowly running out of life support for their remaining players but that would surely flip the switch off just the same as a wipe. Anyone supporting that would be a paid actor.

DU just keeps on giving even after you cancel your sub, the forums and reddit are free baby!

NQ has suspended these kinds of changes until they have a new play option.
When there will be asteroids in PvP zone, tiles with deeper mineral exploitation bonuses and in greater quantity. Maybe we will have the right to real mining factories.

But only time will tell if NQ manages to add enough content to their game.

So how to sell something that does not fit in a inventory?

You would have to ask the ATV, but it was planned in this 0.23 initially. Feature postponed pending more gameplay on this before its return. But the mining nerf will come.

Mining is probably next : )

    "Not everyone supposed to mine".

The current shit storm postponed this deadline, but in future NQ wants us to no longer be able to bind to a container on a dynamic core.

  10. It is true that apart from the demand for implementation of PvP objectives, fixing bugs / exploits is a priority.

    Quote :

Overlapping Engines with Other Elements (Obfuscation): A fix will be deployed to prevent this from happening. No action will be taken unless further abuse occurs. [Permit]

Can we have a confirmation of the implementation of this fix?

  11. Excellent news. We have been waiting for this for a long time.

However, a few points remain to be clarified.

I could make a long list of exploits that our small group of players have already imagined / planned to take advantage of your new mechanics.

To know how far these workarounds can go, there is a big question that needs to be answered clearly :

    - When a group of players disconnects from one of their ships (the pilot and other people on board).
What will happen if a person unrelated to them arrives at the scene for several minutes (hours or days)?
Will the ship regain speed when we are within construction range?
Or will it stay completely still because we are strangers to the crew that flew it when it stopped?

This is really a very important question, once we get an answer we could send you a good (non-exhaustive) list of the possible workarounds we see for either method.

  12. I'm really happy to discover this thread with a new recruit at NQ to take note of our various feedback.

Before answering the main question of this topic. I also think it's vital that NQ play their game with the players. Some kind of event where the devs would fight against the players for example would be beneficial for the dev team and also to keep the game alive.

To come back to the subject, I do not intend to stop playing and stop support the game. On the other hand, even if I spoke about this game to my friends, I did not actively solicit them to bring them in (despite I still have free beta keys!).

Why didn't I bring all my friends over ?

The one and only reason is the lack of PvP.
Okay, the current balancing isn't the friendliest and most seller, but a bad meta isn't a reason for not having PvP.

It’s very comfortable to have safe zones in the game. We’re not questioning that choice.
But why the hell are we not allowed to be just one area with resources of exclusive interest to PvP ?

My friends aren't creative, they won't come to the game to build buildings, or build ships, or do LUA.
On the other hand if they come, they will mine, will manufacture factories and the elements and all that is necessary for the practice of the PvP.

You don't offer ANYTHING for this kind of player. Once in the game what are they going to do other than get bored?

Even the exploration is pointless, all the planets are bland and without difficulties or peculiarities. The scientific reality of the known universe is beyond even the imagination that NQ has shown to date !

NQ give us a planet without the 2.5 SU safe zone and jamed radar, with resources exclusive to it. And you will see or you would have seen a whole bunch of happy players on the game. Big pitched battles, blockades, logistics, mercenarism, piracy… Here is all that could have done the daily life of a large number player in the game. Here's what NQ has miss through since the September launch.

Of course this is the reason why my friends are not in the game.

But this is also the case for players with whom we have been able to play, who have discovered the game and withdrawn out of boredom.

    The game need PvP

  13. The difference with military ships (I think we can compare DU ships with the navy) is that DU is a game. In real life a naval ship at a good quarter of its tonnage / volume use to its crew (sanitary, food, water, dormitory, refectory ...).
We find ourselves very far from : "just efficiency and effectiveness".

So effectively if DU does not add any other parameter , we will only need an engine and a gun...

The fact of needing more volume for a ship will indirectly make it possible to make things more vary than a shoe box without necessarily losing fighting capacities.

I look forward to seeing what will be implemented to force us to "fill" our ships.

  14. Hello,

I think we will certainly have this kind of celestial object for future updates (but in the natural state).

Passing in the first place by the implantation of supermassive planets.

Otherwise for all your points it's definitely a no. it does not make any sense whether for the gameplay or the physical model that NQ has to develop on its game.

  15. I had not thought of the cities of space. But yes, a 24/7 defense system is mandatory. (after yes, we will not be able to go further on the subject compared to the techno already on the game: NDA).

So, if we rely on JC's statements on the "" Ask Me Anything "" (source shown above): it's possible that it's not available, but only after the game's release ...

As mentioned elsewhere, the issue of system drift with fully automated military spacecraft taking part in combat will arise.
