  1. On my machine, NovaX base is just about visible 6km from Sanctuary MP3. That’s even after cleaning the cache. So even at 1500kph I get at least 10 seconds advanced visibility. it could be purposefully made out of small voxels to spawn in late and crash interlopers. Apparently someone placed a mesh of tiny voxels near MP6 for the express purpose of causing carnage. (Or so I heard).
  2. JC after half a blunt: “Hey let’s prioritize territory warfare before we have anything of any value to fight over.” devs after a silent pause: “erm... sure boss... right you are, then!”
  3. So by that we can say that there will be a short window before bigger orgs set up said industries on outer planets and trade once again stops. No? I also just disagree with your opening premise. how many ship builders does (did?) Infinity Corporation have building ships at any one time. How many does your org have? I’d wager off the top of my head Infinity does not have “no more people” building ships compared to your org.
  4. ↑ Proof that in this world, there is always a subset of people who remain largely unaffected by or even oblivious to seismic shifts in politics and the environment. This is why this thread is interesting to me, because it speaks of the “I” rather than starting off with the ephemeral “we” or even worse blanket statements like “TeH ComMunItY” when it’s often actually more of a personal anecdote. This game is clearly complex and spoke to a wide range of players. I really hope these changes don’t turn half of them off entirely. im still kinda hopeful, but am watching from the sidelines for the time being.
  5. I’m quite aware . Lol. Thanks. It was just the fact that this was not a very jokey thread at that point in time. ?
  6. You only have to look once more at the inert constructs to moving yellow player marker ratios at every market place platform to see that this game has hemorrhaged players at a terrifying rate. Remember these platforms were wiped once and reintroduced and again they are littered with ships that haven’t moved in months. thats not taking into consideration any ships that were auto compacted, either. I think a lot of players were “mis-sold” the beta, expecting, quite rightly, an actual beta when instead they have found a relabeled early alpha game and unsubbed.
  7. Toxicity levels are iron-man chest level high on here. Lol.
  8. Taking a break to play through cyberpunk 2077 which I’m loving, since it’s the first story driven, non sandbox AAA game I’ve ever played. Will likely be back in a couple of weeks to see how things are progressing. As of now, im just logging in for a minute a day to collect the 150k and keep my skills queued.
  9. When you reinstalled did you hunt through your computer and delete all the associated folders in local data and the cache etc. or did you just uninstall and reinstall?
  10. Did you read the quote I... err.. quoted...? I was just paraphrasing the chump who posted in front of me. He made an assumption using a blanket disparagement so I just replied using a blanket disparagement. Nothing to do with how I actually feel... Interesting that you mention “fighers” (sic)... a lot of quote-unquote “pvpers” enjoy it far more when the person they are “pvping” is unable to actually fight back rather than confronting another actual pvper who would present a real challenge. They are often challenged enough in real life to not need any more challenges in game hence the immense need to feel empowered and validated in a role playing scenario such as a 2D computer game. They feel the need to win at something, even if it’s not real. This is a forum about a single poorly executed and iffy game with some great ideas that keep us here, not something real-life-important like COVID or the US election one month Clingon debacle so no need to actually say what one actually feels. It’s just for lols entertainment? enjoy.
  11. You have 45 million? Wow! That’s pretty good for someone playing several months. I have about 5M banked. I was constantly spending it on the markets that people said weren’t working. weird that.
  12. Defensive talk if ever I've seen it. I was just reversing the rhetoric... I never said every PvPer was a dick waving pee pee fan, did I? Apparently you can't read a forum post without having some kind of mental blowout according to the way you write. Every poster against your viewpoint is probably a wanker to you, right?
  13. I have used the markets a good deal rather than saving up ℏ. A decent balance of making our own stuff and relying on the market. It has been a fun ride. Also, as for endgame, people haven't even seen anything like an endgame yet... Maybe in JCs mind, when the orgs have created an L ship that has got into space and can warp, that is endgame. But I see end game being when people have built (and fleshed out) massive space stations tens of kilometres long, gleaming towers that reach the stratosphere, pushed voxelmancy to within inches of its life and created entire operating systems using LUA or at least frameworks and ecosystems for building modular drop in applications. Sure progress has been fast but just look at how much effort people have put in.. Some have been mining for up to 15 hours a day to fund their (org's) dreams. Our own org members have already said at times this game has felt more like a second job. Nowhere near endgame.... If they wanted to make a cooperating civilisation, they could make the upcoming system jump technology super duper expensive and have it needed to be built part by part, blueprint by blueprint and assembled in open space away from all the planets... say something like assembling 12 warp beacons and placing them on XL space cores arranged in a ring... It would cost hundreds of billions of ℏ and NQ would create some community events to build and protect the nascent technology from raiders and pirates, etc. That would have brought the players together, much like the CGs (community goals) in ED regularly used to bring thousands of players to out of the way systems in the bubble and often on opposing teams. Once the ring was complete, the destination system would be accessible. They could have in-lore reasons as to the whys and hows of it.
  14. That figures. Also: Yeah, that's going to work. To paraphrase: 10% will want to play the fully developed aspect of the game and the other 90% will be happy to mine the last few dregs of ore for hours to pay the cartel rates for stuff to build their ships with that will likely get perma destroyed by bugs/lag and have to be repurchased from scratch a couple of days later. What I sort of semi-predict (in other words, I just pulled it of my arse ? ) is big orgs will continue to be completely self contained civilizations just as they are right now, only put on hold for a week to a month while they gather funds from their richest members, load up their schematics and reconfigure their factories... Meanwhile a proportion of the soloists/small groups will become disenfranchised with the game and stop playing. New players may join and will be goaded into mining for the big orgs. As latecomers, they will likely never rise in the ranks of said org and a proportion of them likely become disenfranchised with the game and stop playing. Either that or they will be left swilling around the detritus of the long departed, swiss cheese planets and be fully reliant on the government scab handouts (100/150kh), likely become disenfranchised with the game and stop playing. Some people say I can get a bit too cynical at times.
  15. I have added every skill I intend to buy back to the queue at level 2 or 3 (2 clicks for 2 skills) which is better value. it will take about 5 days for those skills to process. A good amount of time for a break while the shit sinks to the bottom of the punch bowl and a breather to get started with Cyberpunk, which I’m enjoying immensely.
  16. Ah.. I see, by carebears you mean the people actually doing the hard work extracting the resources and building the civilization rather than the ones intent waving their micro penises around and pissing on everything? got it. ?
  17. True.. But optics are everything in today's twisted, shallow post-truth alternative-fact ME FIRST world.
  18. Not entirely true... Most people don't want to invest in something they perceive as dying.
  19. Interesting, I also originally added the T2+ But in my message, basically what you’re saying. But I edited it out as too arbitrary. If they wipe they’ll likely wipe it all rather than on a tier by tier basis. but doubt there will be a wipe again. If there is I’ll not be coming back. I only came back because JC said several times there wouldn’t be another wipe. unfortunatley for me, I can’t see any way that incoming players will be able to enjoy this game to its fullest in a world without resources held hostage by massive orgs built in cheats and exploits (redundant phrase actually, since cheats ARE exploits). but I probably just lack vision. There’s likely a solution to be had somewhere out there.
  20. I’m sure they won’t wipe. They said they wouldn’t. So I very much doubt they will. but just like they didn’t need to wipe industry to completely destroy it, they could easily do something equivalent. like when Elite had a hyperinflation bug and exploit fest and all the exploiters became billionaires, they just brought out a new currency for the new wave of content effectively rendering the initial currency obsolete and moot. UlclePubie as usual just condescendingly assumes that I think they will wipe and that I know how things Work (with a capital W, not a small w) so he clearly Means What He Says. As I said, I very much doubt there will be a wipe and I don’t want a wipe because I’ve put too much effort into this game. But I still believe it’s the only way to be fair to those who weren’t able to exploit the games earlier programming mistakes that were left to run for months despite placing tickets in. and then NQ say they will “punish” people who use the exploits. Only they didn’t. And then they go and ban a player for their own RDMS fuckup. I don’t want a wipe, and I know they won’t give billions of credits to those who didn’t exploit the system in compensation, or wipe, thus I very much doubt they will expand much beyond the few hundred players they still have left paying and playing daily. 200x$7 per month is about enough money for a part-time tea-lady.
  21. The only way forward is for a wipe... Talents should stay, since many are paying for them, but they now need to wipe everything else and the planets should be respawned with materials... If that is too much, then at least wipe all bank accounts, containers and all deployed elements. Warp beacons, TCUs and any elements such as warp drives, AGGs and territory scanners should also be cleared to level the playing field now that most of the exploits have been found and fixed (or at least mitigated)... Give every player 100k per day they've played the game in way of "compensation" to pay for a few schematics. If they want to be "generous" let orgs keep all their cores and voxel constructs, just strip out the elements...
  22. Much of this unpopularity comes from the fact that it tips the scale towards the orgs that got away Scott free with exploits and abuses like container linking, duping and other mechanics that weren’t intended. now the ores are gone, the mega corps have billions in the bank to buy their magic potions with and worst of all: all the money they pay for those potions disappears into the bot-riddled aether. not a single ℏ goes goes back into the economy to drive or support the suppliers of those schematics (who would have researched them and sold them) as it should in “real life.” again. It’s not the system they’ve introduced per se.. It’s the system that has suddenly put a speed limit on a race where all the big players had already got themselves ten laps ahead by riding a bicycle while the referees looked the other way. allowing big orgs to keep all the warp drives and all the AGGs and even the warp beacons that they have made is just poor adjudication. I will admit I was wrong...seriously: there is just so much disparity in this game now that for the first time since the almost maliciously misnamed “beta” started, only a wipe can fix the it Devore this new system sets those disparities up as unassailable barriers to new entrants.
  23. There you go. You finally get the point. See. That wasn’t so hard now was it, even for someone with your... intellect.
