  1. After thinking about this for a week and looking into things, I have a much better answer for you @CT3PO0, however, it still probably won't be what you want to hear. Yes, you will be able to play the game on Mac computers, under very specific circumstances. You will need a Mac with Thunderbolt 3, and an external GPU (most likely) https://developer.apple.com/development-kit/external-graphics/ With that, any sufficiently powerful Mac (not leaking system requirements) would be able to dual boot into Windows and run the game. It's not a perfect solution, but it will work.
  2. Let's discuss this on discord, that way we can have a more fluid discussion than back and forth here Someone make one for the wiki and shoot me an invite and I'll happily join
  3. For those that weren't aware of the debate going on in the wiki thread within the General Topics subforum, Novaquark has indicated that they would like the Official Wiki to only contain official content. This raised issues with people who wanted to place locations/organizations/alliances/histories/etc on the wiki. Well rather than bicker endlessly about it, I've created a wiki that I hope will satisfy the desires of the community in a way that doesn't intrude on the official one. The Dual Universe Community Wiki can be found @ http://dualuniverse.wiki/index.php/Main_Page It is brand new, and as such is going to take a while before it starts to look like a well curated and maintained wiki, however for the time being people are welcome to register an account (you need an account to edit, I did that to try and keep out some spam) and edit as they see fit. Things like a logo, table of contents, templates, etc. need to be added in order to make it fully feature-complete. Anyone is welcome to add any Dual Universe-related content as they see fit, just be aware that it may be moved around as things are organized going forward. If you're going to be doing heavy modifications to the wiki, please reach out so that we can discuss the best way to organize things going forward (and so it might save you some time and make things easier overall). If you encounter any errors while using it, let me know on discord and I'll try and tackle them as soon as possible.
  4. For those that want a community wiki with a place to record history, locations, organizations, whatever.... I've just created this wiki: http://dualuniverse.wiki/index.php/Main_Page If anyone wants to help set it up let me know, otherwise you just need to create an account to have permission to edit it. It still needs a better logo and tons of pages need to be created, otherwise it should be functional and usable at this point. If you don't want to use it that's fine, just please don't go out of your way to berate me for doing this for free.
  5. They are terms used synonymously right now. When people talk about the "wiki" they are referring to gamepedia (the official wiki).
  6. What is the point of contacting Gamepedia about this? It's not their game. The only voice that should matter in this is Novaquarks. That would be like asking Discord employees about the layout of any given Discord server.
  7. This is exactly why I'm against any player content on the wiki as ATMLVE laid out. Not just for organizations but also for cities/stations/whatever, because the impact will be the same regardless.
  8. Artificially siloing everyone into the wiki isn't the way to approach the problem. Creating new tools and sites that are better formatted for that purpose is. How is anyone going to navigate the wiki when there are 5000 "major" cities spread over the game? Keep the wiki for official content, there will be enough expansions and patches in the years to come to continue to give room for people to update it as necessary. It doesn't need player content to inflate it. The second that player content shows up on the official wiki, it inherently becomes endorsed by NovaQuark and that is a slippery slope that we will never recover from. I'm with @ATMLVE on this, keep the official wiki for official content.
  9. 100% agreed. No player-created content should be in the official wiki whatsoever (following the guidelines you laid out).
  10. Having player organizations on the gamepedia wiki is a pretty terrible idea. The Gamepedia wiki should be for official information about the game and official lore, not every little tiny thing someone feels like putting on it. What's to stop people from putting every tiny construct them design on the wiki too, who's to say that a ship should or shouldn't be on the wiki in that case if we're going down the path of "well important player-created content should be there"? Who's to say when a city is big enough or important enough to warrant being put on the official wiki? Who's to say when a player is important enough to have their own wiki page? Where does it stop? The disservice to the community is trying to shove every minute player created detail into the wiki just because we can. Having a giant list of every organization there isn't useful to players, and it only serves to pull people away from the community page. It's going to turn into spam that nobody wants to curate or maintain. If you feel like every organization needs to be recorded somewhere, create a new site and start recording the history of the game that way. There are a handful of organizations out there that are already attempting to do this, are they doing a "disservice to the community" by wanting to make things their own way instead of trying to amalgamate everything into the gamepedia wiki? That argument could very well just be used to dissuade literally anyone from ever attempting to make an informative website around Dual Universe, "because it's on the gamepedia wiki" It's a disservice to the community to assume that every tiny detail about the game needs to be documented in one place when there are arguably much better ways of storing and organizing some information that won't lock people into the awful navigation that gamepedia limits users to. Keep the Gamepedia wiki for content that Novaquark creates. Simple.
  11. And people said I was wasting my time when I suggested making another wiki for this kind of stuff ... Anyways, if you decide to actually go through with making another one, I've got http://dualuniverse.wiki and am willing to host one.
  12. Not illegal, just against the TOS. Selling accounts/pledges is kind of a gray area too, frowned upon heavily but they're not going out of their way to stop it. The main thing we've heard is that they don't want people giving away alpha access, as they want that reserved for the core supporters. Though I think they would readily admit it would be unfeasible to enforce that completely. Selling items for real money in the game will also probably be prohibited, but enforcing that is going to end up being a never-ending game of cat and mouse. Now in terms of selling DAC's for real money in an authorized way, I hope they open up an affiliate program similar to CCP's affiliate program. So that sites can resell them with permission.
  13. Why don't we just use GMT as the universal time like they do on the ISS? http://www.astronautabby.com/the-international-space-station-time/
  14. Welcome to the forums! I've gotta ask, how did you find out about Dual Universe? Also, here's an obligatory invitation to the community discord
  15. I can only begin to imagine the conversation with my wife that I'm ready to have kids because I want to join this org in Dual Universe. She already puts up with 90% of everything I do in my free time revolving around DU, I don't know if she'd be able to handle the reason for us starting a family being DU I hope she doesn't read this.
  16. Can you make this with green/black gradients? Pretty please!!
  17. I'd like to be able to select and copy a section of a piece that I've carved out to save for later use, I guess what you would refer to as a "brush". I'd like to be able to design something, and then "paste" it later in a different material, and to store lots of detailed voxels in a personal list so that I don't necessarily have to make tiny details over and over again for everything I make.
  18. On Kickstarter it says, "Estimated Delivery Dec 2018" for all packs.
  19. I don't want them to censor things away just because of NSFW words and phrases. If people don't want them, they won't buy them and they'll fail on the market. Least of all, if we don't like something we can easily go in and change things around. If I'm in my own ship and nobody is ever going to be in the cockpit but me, why should it matter to anyone else what my display says on it?
  20. There are currently no guarantees on Pistons/Rotors/etc. They've said they want to look into it, perhaps allowing moving pieces to be scriptable (gears/rotors/pistons/etc), but there's no guarantee it will make it by release.
