  1. i can see an alpha maybe by the end of the year, but i dont expect early access or anything till well into 2018 by the earliest. but im patient.,,,,kind of lol just gives me more time to get through school and learn coding past basic html web stuff(that i havent used in err 8 years)
  2. welcome! i think alot of us are here because of E3.
  3. im actually with masteredred and the DUA, but you should check out Cinderfall Syndicate not actually a group more of a collective of groups. definitely feel they will have what you want if you want to merc yourself out to different groups or be a police force
  4. I would like the devs to do what they plan to do and have like large scale ingame votes for different types of updates such as this. that way when the game is live and there are millions of players they can all have a voice instead of just us relative few. but it has to be an overwhelming majority i feel like voting for an update. like 80% of the playing populace. and if its something like this have a way to turn off the feature but not gain some fringe benefits from it. kind of like how some games have a hardcore/ironman mode but can be switched to normal but cant be switched back. So if an update like where we need to eat occurs it affects all but each individual can choose to turn it off but wont be able to turn it back on.
  5. welcome to the cult sounds like you will find a nice home here sooner or later. we have similar interests for the game only im more chaotic neutral. so i plan to be a privateer/merc
  6. slightly unrealistic. slightly confused lol. I can see what gallo saying being a thing. but I don't know how that would work either. if the nano bot arm thing is also ived into our arm it can deliver nutrients. I think? idk I didn't take anatomy lol
  7. I think we have to consider two things when comparing NMS and DU. NMS was already into the beta period when they showed at e3, and it has the backing of Sony. DU is an indy studio with no backing by a major production company, and they threw their vid together for e3. Both are similar in that they want no load screens but NMS is ment to play as a single player game where DU is the exact opposite.
  8. well...I mean technically humans can already do this. not in such an easy way. but humans are capable of using iv's and directly introducing food into the intestines through a tube in the side lol edit: changed stomach to intestine. remembered this happens when the stomach is removed
  9. i didnt pay it much mind mainly cause its pre alpha and was a thrown together vid for e3. more than likely they are working in a fairly small space just working out general bugs before moving on to the stress tests for a bigger area.
  10. now i have thoughts of kevin costnor and waterworld....thanks lol i would like to see some diffrent kind of worlds than just primarily terra. even a world more like earth would be cool. id like to explore the deep seas in a sub or a ship that can do water
  11. doctor who had space whales. so dont steal dr whos ideas
  12. I think this is why the devs choice p2p. its an unfortinate side effect of it that it excludes younger players. but i believe that if we are able to gift game time tokens then it will atleast solve some of this
  13. I personally wouldn't care for a mechanism that allows for capture of players. I see that putting people off. it be fine if it was pvpers capturing pvpers. but non combat personal will just quit after awhile. why play a game if you get on and cant do anything. How ever I do believe that when you die in DU you lose more than your ship. you lose different things in your pack cause as the devblog says. though you now occupy a body from a very similar parallel universe its not exactly the same so in one you picked up a shiny rock and in the other you didn't (atleast that's the example I think of)
  14. my assumption is if you are not someone who is going to go mine or trade then you need to be apart of an organization that will provide you with a ship or the material to build a ship. and I would HOPE that these organizations would be less likely to keep handing out materials or ships if the pvp is just randomly attacking and dying and not aiding the organization
  15. there hasn't been any real talk about the combat of the game yet other than you can build weapons and that the game will first be from a fps point of view with maybe over the shoulder 3rd person support added if it fits.
  16. Welcome. and yeah im trash at building stuff normally, short attention span and all. but the beauty of this game is you don't have to create anything. you can aid others in creating. or shooting or what ever!! but welcome none the less lol
  17. the best solution I can think is that normally you have to manually aim unless you can write a script that acts like tab targeting for turrets.
  18. its not just activision though anymore. ubi does it too lol. I hate yearly entries. side question was activision always the parent company? anyways we digress I can find these answers myself later lol.
  19. Back during my hayday of Runescape the monthly was 5. most subs were under 10 till WoW came about with its 15 dollars. Runescape had a few hundred servers as well. the reason the price went up was that jagex the company that ran runescape started hiring more people to run customer support, develop new quests and other types of content as well as upgrading the graphics a few times. Runescape prides it self in the ability to release new content on a very regular basis and the price now is still around 10. granted some of their needs for cash is supplemented with a cosmetic cash store and adds on the main page and f2p game window. For a game that is primarily only giving us a fictional universe with no content except what we as the players create. I read somewhere on the main site that NQ is a game studio with only 26 people who sole focus is this game. when this game goes live they will need to hire more people to assist with customer service and server maintenance. edit: yeah blizzard is money hungry, that's pretty obvious with its now yearly expacs ontop of its 15 month sub. I mean each expac is the same cost of a new AAA game
  20. becomes less about skill and more about who has bigger guns. which tilts the scales of pvp in favor of the larger factions. making harder on smaller factions and pirate groups
  21. when it comes to gaming iv always like mouse and keyboard set up. one of the main reasons I actually like pc gaming over console (other than pc community is just so much better). but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible for them to have multiple map options. be cool to see if you could set it up that when you enter a cockpit that it auto switches to a joystick setup
  22. I would like to see them follow eso kinda. alpha is clearly a closed alpha id like to see a closed beta first then an early access open beta. then 1 to 2 years of sub then maybe transition into a cosmetic shop if applicable with an optional paid membership that comes with benefits over the free version. or follow a Runescape model where there is a clear line between free and members. as a free player maybe not have access to use of hyper drives and warp gates so they are locked into the starting system. im for the sub model but just giving some other ideas based on my experiences
  23. welcome! always good to welcome a new member to the cult.... I mean forums
