If the Devs want people to have some kind of say or even want to know what people think in regards to improving the game then when the community site is released they should have a section for suggestions for improving the game. based on support of different threads and the possibility of an indivual idea being able to be implemented then the devs can go ahead and implement into the game. or have a large scale vote through the game for players to vote on it.

Price model, SAY NO TO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION!

what iv noticed with a lot of f2p games with convience stores or "pay to win" model of business is that people have zero issue throwing literal 1000s at a game just to stroke their ego for a few months. but cant pay for a game which at most would cost you over the period of every 4 months the same as a brand new AAA title. my question is which is more preferable in these scenario: pay 60 dollars then spend 100s of dollars on cosmetic items or pay 15 a month and have unlimited access to all cosmetics. -

you find me the game that went from f2p to p2p then. I was saying that iv never seen it. Unless you consider Runescape such a game. but runescape is a breed all its own that had a free version and a paid members version edit: on second read this may come off as me being a dick but I assure you It wasn't my intent lol -
Price model, SAY NO TO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION!
The_War_Doctor replied to Reverant_Spark's topic in Idea Box
you can go from initial purchase with a monthly sub p2p model to a b2p with a cash shop or a p2p to a f2p but you can never go from f2p or b2p to p2p unless you just like not having a game anymore. people who don't mind paying a sub or who are like me and actually prefer it as it shows that the game is actually cared for by the dev team wont bitch to much if it goes f2p. but no one who is playing a f2p game and the game switches to p2p is going to pay to keep playing. -
im going to look to another game that is similar in size but that's it, and that's NMS. at first hello games wasn't going to have npc's but as they got closer and closer to the release they decided that they wanted npc's. so they might not want npc's now but probably after the alpha they will be in a better spot to decide if NPC"s are needed in the game

What are skills? and how do they work?
The_War_Doctor replied to Aurenian's topic in The Gameplay Mechanics Assembly
im hoping the address it more in a dev blog as we get closer to the alpha -
i feel like it will still be able to be gotten through steam. there are mmo's that are on steam that you can get outside of steam like final fantasy
-
lol as long as they dont break stuff as often as amazon ill be happy with this. but i agree.
-
more than likely the markets will be play run kiosks but the player may not actually be at the kiosk. though i have played games before the invention of a central trade house or auction house where players had to physically advertise there wears over chat and get people to buy from them or to sell something to them

What are skills? and how do they work?
The_War_Doctor replied to Aurenian's topic in The Gameplay Mechanics Assembly
i highly doubt NQ will limit us by having a fixed skill point limit. more than likely each research will take time and maybe the more you have the more time it takes or more physical research being done to get a new skill or whatever. -
Small fish in a big pond
The_War_Doctor replied to Revoke's topic in The Gameplay Mechanics Assembly
i would think being a small group is very do-able. especially as we know there is going to be multiple non pvp areas. its also possible to form alliances with bigger groups or collectives of groups for mutual defense -
only npc's I believe are the ai's players make with lua script
-
i never thought about this....as I tend to play my own music while playing mmo's unless im in a teamspeak channel.
-
soon as I get my new pc what ill be playing is that and other voxel games lol

What are skills? and how do they work?
The_War_Doctor replied to Aurenian's topic in The Gameplay Mechanics Assembly
im assuming as we get closer to the alpha there will be a devblog talking about how the skills will work. or atleast I hope -
in one of the threads.......don't even bother looking for it cause I don't even know which one anymore. NQ said that one of the funding goals would be access to the alpha test of the game.

What are skills? and how do they work?
The_War_Doctor replied to Aurenian's topic in The Gameplay Mechanics Assembly
I know its semi discussed in one of the devblogs, but for the life of me I cant remember which one anyways, from what I remember is you have to access a terminal to train in a skill. while im assuming one could research all skills that would take an excessively long time and not be efficient. I envision a kind of mix of research that is generally done in the sid meier games like civ and such and something that has been done in other rpg games(thinking final fantasy x and xii and skyrim). where you have a layout of skills and skill paths and you pick one to follow or multiple ones to follow. While I assume there isn't any real "classes" in this game there is probably umbrella skill classes that are more for building gathering or fighting. -
I know NQ is going to give us some basic blueprints when we start the game. its up to us the players to build on these basic blueprints and from our own imagination to build bigger/faster/better ships. one of the best aspects of this game is that if you aren't good at ship building you can get it from a friend or off the market. I for one will maybe build my own ship but it will take time for me to do it and ill be using blueprints I buy off the market till I finish. side note im not sure how the blueprints will work but I get the feeling that if you have the material then the game basicly builds it for you or tells you where to put what
