ATLANT got a reaction from AlexRingess in Rotors, pistons and similar movable elements to create unique buildings
The space engineers have bugs with this elements. This happened because Keen Software House made it much later release. I just want to game developers have made it as early as possible to avoid such problems. I hope that i will be able to build USCSS Prometheus with rotary engines and hangar lift

Rotors, pistons and similar movable elements to create unique buildings. These elements can be controlled by the control unit like in the scrap mechanic and maybe with simple scripts. It is most important thing to build ships and stations

ATLANT reacted to CaptainPep in Building Atlantis
Would it be possible to build the city-ship Atlantis from Stargate atlantis? The thing would require a sufficiently powerful engine and a powerful force field which I am not sure are possible. Any ideas?

ATLANT got a reaction from gyurka66 in Music creator
Do you want to show your musical skills? Do you want a unique music for a ship, station or an entire faction? It is possible to do it without MP3 (that uses a lot of memory) by using midi creator (music studio). You can trade music and use it in various projects. The process of creation on picture (stolen from the trash game apb reloaded)

ATLANT got a reaction from Kuritho in Graffiti and sprays
Yes, you can create your own spray. You can sell it or buy. A method for creating sprays shown in the picture (stolen from the game apb reloaded)

ATLANT reacted to Lethys in Dev Stream on Twitch
I tthink they should and will just focus on alpha for now to get all basic mechanics in there - which is the best they could possibly do. They have a monthly devdiary with video to keep us informed.
I can see such a thing happening later down the road once closed beta is done in 2017 and one or more devs have time to do more of the social stuff.

ATLANT got a reaction from gyurka66 in Tactical mode
Devs talked about some pets, it's some kind of drones, right? Why not to made defence or mining drones and control them? And remember, its only idea in Idea Box forum, even when it is not possible

ATLANT got a reaction from yamamushi in Cloaking device
Cloaking device. Energy consumption increases exponentially. Unable to fire and make hyperspace travel in stealth mode

ATLANT reacted to ATMLVE in Cloaking device
The developers have indeed said they want stealth mode! Not easy to find the source though.

Stealth would definitely be an awesome addition, adding a whole new way to play the game, and also possibly make logging out safer. Also, it would be good for solo players who would like to hide their stuff. Of course there would be negative effects to using it; most likely you would be revealed upon using anything that consumes more than a little bit of energy.

ATLANT reacted to nietoperek in Graphical programming - easier scripting for newbies?
Hi,
I know that DU is not planned to be easy, and scripting will be irremovable part of game mechanic. It is something cool... but write hundreds lines of code can be bothersome task for non-programmer players; beside this, scripting is quite boring in form (you know - lines and lines of numbers and letters, nothing fancy).
So. Maybe we can made scripting mini-game itself and give it some interesting graphical interface, easier to understand by "normals"? Of course "text hard mode" will be always available as second option and even "graphical programming" can have less options than text one, like "beginner" and "veteran" versions
I not talk about simplification of programming language itself, but more about some kind of GUI/IDE for that - with auto-complete and - most important - easy graphical interface like "blocks" of code for building apps. I know at last two projects, which use this kind of editors ; LEGO Mindstorm and Scratch. Here are pictures of programs build in them:
[sCRATCH]
[LEGO]
EDT: Here is wiki about this style of programming. And you can even use some like this for LUA, too!
In my opinion it will decrease "starting cost" for lot of people, and it can be even inspiration for someone for start learn "true" programming
Toughs?

ATLANT reacted to Begogian in Programmable unit AI for drones and
Couldn't this possibly take some of the fun and game element out of the game? It will definitely be a day when someone writes a script to auto-mine but eventually you would just be removing the person from the game. It's an idea to think about but when you can just sit back and mine multiple planets at once or run an entire fleet on your own, it will be taking the fun and social aspect out of the game. Imagine 1 guy/girl scripts a whole army, there wouldn't be a need for organizations because a single player could do everything a normal organization of 50+ people could do.
