  1. @Dorlas Yeah, we're pretty much on the same page of thought. @vertex Well it is in the idea section, because its an idea of having some sort of uniform and agreed naming standards. I feel your list are more "types" than classes of ships with purposes. While it does make sense, we're speaking of different context here. @Vellnn Very true, I feel that's how it'll go if no one is inclined to go by anyone's standards. There will be a sort of... dare I say... "natural selection"? lol
  2. I think there should be a thread in regards to what ship makers use as a standard for naming particular classes of their ships. (ie what should the smallest ship be labeled as? how large is that class? what about the next size up? etc) I for one like the naming from StarDrive as follows, for me its easily understandable and not overly complicated. Fighter, Corvette, Frigate, Cruiser, Capital/carrier, Titan What do you guys think? Keep it Non-NDA breaking
  3. Hey I can answer your question more directly now. Check out the recent dev diary My ship is no longer under NDA apparently! ... It's at 2:28-2:29 about, and it's on the left hand side of the screen. You'll also see my name. So if this is what you mean by forcefield , it should answer the question.
  4. Just so you know, anyone with current access will likely not answer this question here due to potential violation of the NDA. As such, I will direct you to watch the youtube released videos, especially the new tutorials they put up.
  5. "Don't distress, call wayward express" Have you lost your way? Perhaps you simply overshot your destination, perhaps you flipped your fighter, or perhaps you got caught in cross fire of some battle - no matter. Whatever you reasons, we'll get you where you have to go. Where do you fly? We fly everywhere permitted, all public stations and cities, or as close as permitted, for a fee. We cater to your needs, and attempt to give everyone a cheap and affordable method of space travel should you be unable to purchase/build a ship, or simply lack the desire. How do you handle politics and safety? Wayward Express is intended to be a fully neutral transportation business and will not get involved in any conflicts. Since WE fully intends to provide indiscriminate services to everyone regardless of their ideology or political affiliation, there is little incentive attack WE. We will very obviously benefit all those locations we travel to, with bringing tourists and their money to your locations, pay taxes to cities and stations, and indiscriminate employment and travel options. Its very easy to remove such boons and benefits if and where need be Are you hiring? Wayward Express offers employment to everyone seeking to make extra income, regardless of their ideology or political affiliation. It matters not what org you're apart of, so long as you intend to follow our policies and not endanger any of our travelers. What are your requirements? For travelers: Listen to all safety instructions. Pay your tickets prior to boarding. Find your seat, and do not disturb or otherwise interrupt the flight Do not attempt using our services as a way to ambush or attack travelers or other Noveans at destinations. (you will be blacklisted along with other possible consequences...) For pilots: Know your destinations and how to get there safely. Get there in a timely fashion, reporting any problems to your superiors. Do not make any changes to your flight plan mid-flight, unless you are in immediate danger, this can greatly inconvenience other travelers. Return your WE shuttle at the end of your shift. (stealing WE shuttles will result in blacklisting and other consequences) For Gatekeepers: Process payments and board travelers. Actively check blacklist. Report problems to superiors. Interesed in other services and employment opportunities? Other employment opportunities such as security, construction/maintenance of shuttles, etc will be provided by FEC, and IAI. Wayward Express is a joint venture by FEC, and IAI TO APPLY- Wayward Express
  6. Unless you're a masochist, I don't think that's a feature you want!
  7. Welcome kama! All founders are important. In my opinión at least ?
  8. FEC is growing and still recruiting those interested in exploration and development. Are you interested in pushing the limits? Smiles inbound
  9. *Peeks in thread* Ohhhh.... It all makes sense now
  10. Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as though they weren't. Not my intentions. I'm the small details kind of guy, and I'm usually surfing the site via my mobile, which forces me to the landing page when I first open the browser. And so, I noticed the count changing. Wondered what was up. I won't make anything more of it though.
  11. They are testing All Terrain Vehicles on the servers. If it goes well we'll be testing ships soon.
  12. Well the issue was that there was an increase and sudden decrease in the number of backers, during a period of time when the founder packs were closed (supposedly) . Yeah, from a company claiming transparency I think a general comment on what is going on isn't out of line or asking for personal information. One staff member could simply say there were two founders who were promised ability to receive access and no longer desired or qualified to access. They could even be more vague than that if they desired. Or it could have been a simple glitch. No comment at all regarding a change in founder count during a period it was closed is a bit weird. I should have taken screens but I didn't think anything of it until it decreased.
  13. Thought experiment: What if skills are done skyrim style?
  14. So... I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this but over the last couple of weeks (while the founder packs have been closed) the number of backers have shifted from 10,219 to 10,217 Has anything been announced regarding this? Are these credit payments that didn't go through, family accounts, change is participating staff?
  15. I'm not sure how I feel about this... I don't feel that I would mind ground mechs for surface combat, but gundam style and flying I feel would be completely out of place and there wouldn't be a "ship melee" combat.
  16. ATMLVE covered basically all that needed covering here. However, I do hope that the "we built it because we could" doesn't go too far, like second life nonsense that we could ruin immersion too much. I don't mind a good laugh, or a troll once in a while, etc but I hope it doesn't get out of hand. Like, I hope there aren't pink dildo ships, butt crack taverns, or flying scribbles... ?
  17. I was of the same mind, wondering how things went. But wasn't going to ask, as I didn't want to be "that guy". It's sounding good though! I can't wait for this weekend.
  18. *Activates quiet blend* But in all seriousness I'm glad I've worked in the Intel field, else I'd feel like I'm walking into a meta & espionage nightmare. I fully suspect that there will be a "great filter" for organisations because of this meta
  19. It was confirmed somewhere that the supporter packs would be available Q4 2017 (don't remember where and I'm not searching for it), so I'm assuming the fully alpha will be around that time or Q1 2018.
  20. I agree with this assessment. While we can have automated defenses, construct to construct (even if Anti Air), should require to be manned to keep with the intended balance. And strong community support to a degree should be pushed, we're rebuilding society, not isolated secret societies or everyone's personal cult. But strategy should play the most important role ultimately. If you know that you are going to be up against heavy AA, perhaps you should change how you approach the job. Go for a land assault, sabotage the AA, perhaps use EMP or electrical counter measures etc. Let's not dare dumb the game down because we see some obstacles.
