  1. what if one of the secrets was that half of the game would start in a mirrored galaxy, not to be connected until the day a star gate was built to connect them, and then 1 day one of the brave explorers discovers the other colony .. and then all that which would in turn follow from it ....
  2. I think NQ have said that you would need permissions to be able to edit within a controlled territory and they plan to make TCU's hard to make. Will be interesting to see though I'm sure they have thought it out they seem to have a good idea of the problems in many other games they are trying to avoid
  3. Regarding control and domination by mega organizations, we know this is a problem in EvE but this should be less extreme in Dual Universe, due to the structure of the game. What exacerbate this kind of situation is the existence of "bottlenecks": secure areas (Npc space stations in EvE) has a unique exit point, easy to camp. It's also fairly easy to secure/control a solar system by guarding the entry/exit points under the form of stargates. In Dual Universe you won't have this kind of situation: maintaining a blocus will be way harder than in any other game of the genre if the safe zones won't have just on entry/exit point, but you can leave the 20km diameter half sphere from any side. how about digging a tunnel to exit from underground, anywhere on a half-sphere of 20km radius? That is a surface of 2500 km2 (1000 miles2). Same apply for controlling solar systems or just planets: as attacks could come from anywhere, even huge organizations will try to fortify the most interesting places than dispatching their forces to get the monopole. Unlike in EvE Online, securing a whole solar system will require far more players than in EvE Online. We may be wrong, but we highly doubt that even an organization containing thousands of players could control more a very tiny part of the galaxy, due to the reasons explained above. From NQ
  4. the mechanic is that the planets are near life sized ... even with 1000 players all mining it 27/4 since game launch .. it would take years to extract the minerals from 1 planet ... not to mention your in a proceduraly generated universe that is almost infinite .. they want to encourage us to explore and this is one of the ways they are doing it. 2) No, natural resources won't regenerate over time, to incitate players to explore other planets, but the planets are meant to be huge and will be designed so it could take decades for hundreds of thousand people to mine a single planet to a core. There will be rare ore deposits, but essential basic ores will be available in very large quantities. fom NQ

I think many orgz are putting their hopes for the games into their current structures, Myself included, and as time goes on I am sure they will be refined and made more relevant to the mechanics that are confirmed. Also I think many Orgz are thinking long term as well, which is good to see. It certainly will be fun to see how everything changes in the next couple of years while we wait, and who the major influencing powers at that point may be! Good luck to you TU!
  7. I think beam weapons look cool as well, seeing as they are going for a lock and fire and not a FPS, It may be possible to have them who knows.
  8. Think they plan for their to be a way to stop you mining right though to the core, they haven't really said much on it yet though so I don't think anyone really knows
  9. Yes the game is not going to be FPS but more a lock and fire based on skills and such to calculate damage, hit chance and so on ...

The new single shard server technology works better when players are in closer proximity to each other ( updates information faster) The Devs while promoting freedom, do want player to try and be together to make worlds thrive and want bigger and more complex things to need many players working together as it would be in real life. I think this is one of the core reason they will be starting us together in one safe zone.

I think they plan to do this with job boards in communities, You can check out the job boards for any bounties and take them up And in turns of shops and other services, Their won't really be a limit on it other than your creativity and how you make it work, As well as how popular it is with the community I guess

  13. I think it needs to be very well thought out .. Remember that the Devs stated a while back how hard they want it to be to even make a TU! to spend all that time to get 1 and use it and then have an org just sit and wait and rip it from you in 5 mins is going to be heart braking </3 I think once a TU is placed it should at least have 7 days before it can be attacked to give players a chance. I know that PvP and turf wars are going to be something epic and that we all want but lets not have it get to out of hand. Just my thoughts anyway ...

  15. Yes the I.B.O plans to remain neutral through any war times, and would take every measure to ensure that all assets are safe. As of course a Bank is a very appealing target, The I.B.O plans to keep it's main operations well within the safe zones to protect assets and anything else deemed of value. We have taken many steps towards ensuring any activity outside the safe zones is as safe as can be deemed reasonably possible, and that all who use the banking services are protected as much as we can deem reasonably possible. the bank has only the agenda of its founding principles and to uphold them we must ensure that neutrality is maintained.
  16. More info about Dual Universe monetization model! Hi guys! Already 135,354€ and 27% covered! This is amazing! We can’t thank you enough guys, thank you for your support! So, this is the first update, and we wanted to bring some light on one important point. There has been a lot of discussion recently about the monetization of Dual Universe, and the question of the subscription model. Let us clarify here what we have in mind, so that you can see all the options we will offer: Free to Try “trial” access: there will be a free to try access to Dual Universe, with limitations on things like how much skill, money and/or space you can access to. The details of the limitations are not yet defined precisely, but it will be made such that you can enjoy the game and have a taste of its large scale potential. Pay to Play “premium” access at a price at launch that we will keep in the range of comparable products on the market (typically around $10-$13/month or 10€-13€/month depending on the country), decreasing when bought in large bundles: this is the full scale game, with no limitation. DAC access: Dual Access Coupons are items that you can buy on the in-game markets with the in-game money you make while playing, and that you can turn into one month of Premium play time. You can also buy a DAC from Novaquark to sell it on the in-game market in exchange of in-game currency. DACs will have a price of $18/€18 at official release (for reference, items similar to DACs used in other MMORPGs are priced around $20/€20). Alpha/Beta access: no subscription involved. As you can notice, the real money price of a DAC will be higher than the normal price of one month of subscription, which may have caused confusion as some people, quite understandingly, assumed that the monthly premium sub would cost as much as a DAC. This is not the case. We hope this helps clarify our future business model.   19. I am sure in more than 1 interview the Devs have stated that they are very much against players making money off of their game. But in the end it is too early to say anything on this I guess

  24. A very nice idea, specializing into a security force instead of trying to go all out for 1 big package may prove to be rewarding in the end, I am sure many larger organizations may find your services useful as they expand and become short staffed as it where! Good luck
