It's the internet. It's going to happen.

And once NQ launch their crowd funding campaign, it'll get even worse. It is what it is.

No reason to get angry over it, not like their comments mean anything. Either the game will be, or not. The final product will be whatever NQ wants to do with it. Neither me, you, or anyone else really has any say over that. So just ignore the naysayers.

If anyone needs me for their group, I'll just be leaning on a tree waiting for someone to say, "Hey You! Get over here with us!"
I don't really know what I'll do without one. I always need a group cause to work for.

    Thanks for the thought.

And since we're all members of what I like to call Alpha Team A, we'd do best at forming groups early on. If any of go pirate, it'd that much safer for us, since we'd typically travel in convoys consisting of several ships.

i wouldn't make it that limited, after all the most important factor for speed is the design, if u build a medium class ship with 80% of its volume being the ftl engine then u can expect it to have a greater jumpradius than a large ship with a lot less (relatively) space allocated to it.
As for everything else the important factor is the mass of the ship/object vs. the poweroutput of the engine.

So if u want to create a short range ftl and mound a seat + a gun to it, then so be it. Have fun with your small ftl-able vessel.

That matter also reminds me on a certain race in the sci fi novel "Perry Rhodan" if anyone should know it. They had extreme short range ftl/teleport engines which only teleported the ship ahead for a few cm or m, but in such short intervalls, that the effective speed is way faster than the speed of light (which is a nice way to avoid that speedlimit without ignoring physics)

The first thing we will do....is survive the Arkship landing and plan our vicious assault on the new World! *evil grin*

It could work. But I'd love a colored nanformer beam way more. Actually has a gameplay effect, and people are like WOAH he's an alpha tester.

But I'm greedy and I think we need both. Because all the alpha testers are gonna be heads of corporations, we aren't going to be building our bases. We got people to do that for us.

TLDR; I would prefer a coloured nano-former beam and Alpha Team Outfit.

you could list the alpha testers on some kind of pioneers statue somewhere in the starting zone.

well... if I may, once again bring up SWG as I have and probably will continue to do so.

You pushed alt or whatever key you designated to switch between the reticule and the cursor which didn't seem clumsy or out of place at all. Hopefully the community and the team can find the right balance by working together.

    No worry Silvligh.
Misinterpretation happens, and it's not a big deal here

Well... my thoughts can't be seen as an objective point of view as I'm a member of the team.
The only thing I could say is: if I'm part of this adventure, it's pretty much because I have felt many similar things you have described (not just you but other members too) on the forum since its opening. The Dev Team have made some impressive progress in the last months, and it sometimes hard to resist sharing some news the community, even when it's clearly "not yet ready for communication"

And what do you mean about me being too formal ? It seemed to me I was already way less formal than many CMs on big IPs
Is this because I always end my replies by "Best Regards" ?

Not entirely sure how I came across DU, but I did, and at first I thought it was just like any other space MMO, something like SWTOR or maybe Elite Dangerous. I was like meh and moved on. Later on it popped up in my search suggestions and I gave it another look, read through the devblogs, looked through the graphics and concept art, and I was like, this is something different. Checked out the forums, met quite a few interesting personalities/fanatics, joined the forums myself, and so here I am now happily part of the Dual family

Cheers to NQ and the DU community

the beginning was the same like yours, i googled space MMO and found a compilation which included this one. then i checked this website out and found it to be appealing due to the fact that it has a voxel based build engine and beautiful graphics both at once. then i read they aim for maximum player freedom, and i thought this must be the game i waited for. then i read it will be oculus compatible and that sealed the deal for me.

i am a former player of SoH so thats why i like the aspects of this game.
