  1. Also to remember that when we sell ore we also pay taxes at markets. So taxes when mining taxes when selling.

    - taxes when placing TU

    - weekly territory taxes

    - taxes when changing ownership of territory

    - taxes when creating an org

    - taxes when creating a blueprint

    - taxes when selling at markets

    - taxes when buying at markets

    - taxes if for some reason happens to having fun

    - taxes if not having fun

Aye, seems we were never meant to leave... all those occupied Tiles doing nothing... now you need to set up a business before you think of venturing out.  Good luck to all the newbies, because being on the back foot 'aint no joke.  The future is grim for new players... But, I guess they could just run around their plot all day picking up Ore as the prices are pretty good for that.

Should be a sub game... 'Ore Picker' ... until it evolves into the second release 'Auto Miner - Pay your Tax'

    ^^

People and even NQ should not forget that ore-stones are finite at Sanctuary. Surface ore will run out in no time. Then auto miners are only way to collect ore at Scanc.

  3. Game has still lots of issues.

Before Demeter it were not a problem and no hurry to fix them.
How ever now after Demeter update we must earn lots of Quanta every week to keep our assets in planets.

It is critical that we can perform all operations which are needed to earn that quanta without delays.

Right now there are many bugs which creates lots of delays to operations we need for earning enough quanta.

Now we as players are under strict timers to pay our in-game duties.

    Question:

How will NQ guarantee that they provide stable game so that we can pay our taxes?

  4. Game is still very buggy.

My proposal is that taxes are set to zero until game is stable enough.

True.. It's why I absolutely expect there will be a wipe, mostlikely with talentpoints and normal blueprints returned (currency, schematics and scans will be lost), but NQ will not say it out loud in fear of losing the few active players they have left and I do understand that.

As I expect that what NQ will eventually "release" is what really is the game in Beta state, a wipe at that time, or shortly before, just makes sense and will cleear all the old pain as well as open up the game for new players much more. Existing players wil have a massive advantage in having their talent points back in the ppol so they can instantly respec and blueprints are good to go.

I would not really mind to see blueprints from before a wipe be deployable with just the required ore for it available. Otherwise you get the "I need my industry to get my elements to deploy my industry".. It also works around the problem where magic blueprints just restore the elements gained from exploits. you'll need the ore to get those elements back so effectively your exploit gains become a liability and possiblye very expensive..

Way back I actually suggested that deploying blueprints should require a core to be placed and the blueprints plus materials/elements needed added to the core, press a button and the core will build the construct. SImple solution, much cleaner IMO that then "this is only a placeholder" box we still have ever since the very first time blueprints were introduced years ago.

If there will be wipe then it must be complete.

We cannot cherry pick what suits our interests.

yeah, a lot of people are ok with the system because they assume the prices will stay the same or only drop marginally, while in my opinion, T1 will drop to an all time low.

Calibration Talents are supposed to apply through VR, however, that was said in the same video, in which they stated that scans will carry over, so take it with a grain of salt.

Also we must remember that current Bot price for T1 ores are temporary and bots are going away at some point.

Other thing to consider is that MUs may not have maximum output, if calibration fails.

"This feature is only available to player-owned, not organization-owned" implies that the HQ tiles are not intended for use by orgs and it makes sense to design it like that.

NQ creates an exploit if they do not prevent that from happening anyway. The statement made by NQ as quoted above implies they should put measures inplace to prevent this.

    I hope so

You are saying that it's fine if orgs can amass or at aleast have full access to hundreds of tiles where they only need to pay tax when the situation calls for it, including locking down tiles with specific ores or quantities of ores and only pay the tax if they need to mine these?

How about individual player having a change to rent tile to org.

Same here. I was already only logging in for daily stipend and occasional mission, but even that was already a frustrating experience every single time. So I stopped doing that when it became clear that the ships I purchased in player economy would stop working soon. Because I already had very little motivation left in the first place.

I was basically just waiting around for the game to become worth playing. Although I had pretty much already abandoned all hope of that ever happening. Then they laughed off my AMA questions as off-topic, and that was the final straw.

Then shortly after I uninstalled the game, taxes were announced. I actually reinstalled the game so I could move my stuff to Sanctuary so I could stay away from the game as long as I wanted without losing anything. Who knows in a few years down the road, right? Oh yeah and I had to dismantle my 80mil Caterpillar XL too because otherwise I couldn't take it with me without changing Lua parameters, and I couldnt change Lua parameters because that is BUGGED. The elevator would stop working soon anyway because of the atmo brakes issue. Thank you NQ!

And THEN a few weeks later they say, oh sorry we forgot to mention, you can still have tax-free HQ tiles outside of Sanctuary... After I already took down my base and abandoned my  perfect beautiful little tile on Alioth close to the market. And now of course that tile has already been claimed by someone else. Best of luck to them with the abandoned large core that I couldn't pick up because I couldn't find all the voxels to delete.

So the damage is already done. I can't reclaim the tile, and even if I could, I can't put my base back because it's impossible to deploy static core blueprints in a sensible way. I knew the move would be permanent, I just didn't know I might not have to pay taxes!

Why those fucking idiots waited a few weeks to mention THAT... It should have been the VERY FIRST thing they said weeks ago. And it should have been included with Demeter right away. Unless of course they are talking out of their ass and only considering HQ tiles now because of the backlash against taxes. Just like they are talking out of their ass about the "accidental" atmo brake issue on PTS (first they said it was not an accident they just wanted to test it).

Pissed off doesn't begin to come close. This is just so surreal I must be stuck in a psychedelic trip, someone pinch me please.

The only saving grace is that it's not much of a loss because it's a laughable bugged shit browser game anyway and that's unlikely to ever change. So I'm just gonna grab the popcorn and enjoy watching this unadulterated dumpster fire from a distance until the ship has well and truly sunk and DU has been permanently put out of my misery.

P.S. for the idiots who think you need taxes to clean up inactive player assets, get a load of this: All NQ has to do to determine whether a player is inactive is... drum roll... check when they were last active! For a subscription game, this simply means: Check if they still have a paid subscription. Now this won't work for crowdfunder backers because they don't have a subscription, but you can still check when they last logged in. No need for any taxes not even 1 quanta. Although if this game is in such shape that it needs to start deleting assets from backers then that tells you something. And also it's not very polite to say the least. We're not even out of beta yet ffs. NQ still owes us a game.

    Adios.

Dont be upset because of those taxfree HQ-tiles. Because they are not taxfree anymore!

They are taxed but you dont loose them if you not pay taxes--- what ever that means.

  10. In real life this is called Direct Action

These actions you propose are how ever most likely bannable even if they are done in a name of free speech.

What could be done is to create a long in-game event as a protest rally. Not by violating EULA but creating lots of publicity. Inviting as much streamers and YouTube content creators as possible.

This would need careful planning and some knowledge about civil rights protest organizing.

Didnt we all sign up to a game where all territories outside sanctuary would be potential open for attack?  Pretty sure that was the plan.

Actually original plan was that first there will be only 20 km radius from Arkship as safe zone.

Plus definition that other safe-zones may be implemented later.

So first of those implementations were Sanctuary moon.

    - even sanctuary moon definition has changed a lot.

    - it were supposed not to have any ore what soever.

    - only player markets

    - then it got surface ores, then ground ores, now auto-miner wealth

So safe-zones do change, Old definitions are obsolete. Only new ones do count.

Definition how to loose your assets has always been:

When you go outside of safe-zone you may loose your assets; what ever safe-zone may be.

Nope, YOU obviously don't know the history.the arkship secure area (ASA) was always a thing and right from the start a 20km radius was deemed safe around the ark

    True

How ever also other sanctuary areas were possible. It were not defined how big or small they would be and how many of them.

    - they would be introduced before or after release

Also "sanctuary units", with protection bubbles were to come. Those would need upkeep to maintain their protection.

At kick-starter (or supporter packs) we were also promised 2 STU:s (Sanctuary territory units)
    - only one STU per planet.

    - more STUs per planet were possible to have by talents.

    Sanctuary moon were introduced later.

    - no ores available

But it gets harder and harder to guess what this "certain way" is. For a long time it looked like building pretty constructs is part of it. Now the builders get punished with a tax or expropriation. If everything that players do might finally be turned against them than they will stop playing at all.

    So true.

I've decided that I will not re-sub when my current subs expires.

Red-line for me is this tax-system. Pay new taxes or loose assets which has been acquired playing by the book in 100%

  14. We were a small group of gamers who decided together to participate NQ:s Kickstarter and support development.

I’m the only one of us which is currently playing actively for a reason.

Others have logged in so that they had a change to look how things are developing and to taste a bit about game features. They have own tile at Alioth and small Home base also.

They decided to give game time to develop more and come back at launch.

So now you are punishing your original Kickstarter backers with taxation of their property forcing them to play unfinished game or allowing looter to take their in-game assets.

WOW – This is really vise move.

Do you seriously think they newer come back after this?

Then this is fixed in short. with these fun taxes and people losing their stuff most people who were once told they would never loose their stuff after its build unless warfare happened will probably leave, or just camp at the sanctuary for ever. in both cases, gameplay dies.  Fun to see that those who exploided for billions will again get the better in this next downgrade

What is loot without any risk? Its fake content.

Maybe NQ thinks they can gain few players by promising cheap loot paradise.

This Territory TAX - change of rules after persistent world launch is extremely bad Game Design.
