  1. When core limits were introduced, we were told we would be getting some sort of quick dismantle tool to allow us to take apart a construct quickly in order to free up the construct slot. It hasn't materialised and I am trying to take one apart by hand. I am left with this: After about 10 minutes of searching I still haven't managed to find that transparent screen. While I've been enjoying the game so far, I find this particular piece very frustrating. I could abandon the core but then I wouldn't be able to put it up somewhere else without replacing the core and screen. I think I had a similar issue during beta but I found it eventually by trial and error. Not so much this time. Any suggestions?
  2. I tried diassembling a starter outpost (the wave one) and it probably only took about 10 minutes but the issue I had was that it needs a linked container to disassemble into. I ended up with my starter speeder with the S container dumped on it and full, I couldn't move it any more, my pack was full and rhe outpost still wasn't empty. Perhaps others are better? I'd just make an S core. That was fairly quick with nanopack skills.
  3. Markee Dragon is well known and has been selling game time codes for a number of games for a long time. I bought some 6 month codes from it recently and got them quickly.
  4. Why not just multiply up the daily quanta ammount instead? So you can just pay more and get 1 million per day instead of 100K. Better still we could multiply up skill training speed too so I can train skills 5x faster by paying more. NQ would make a ton more money.
  5. Contributor is the same as mine. It's the post-kickstarter but still pre-beta phase. I was expecting to get Rare rather than Exotic for my account. Perhaps the OPs is the same?
  6. Lol. Game will launch when they've finished adding all the new bugs ...
  7. Well, it's not really abuse. You do still have to spend the time making everything. I'm just talking about how to use offline nanocrafting time effectively. You should be able to set up 4 characters with nano pack queues and a shared container. You could have one finish a job and another character's job starts and uses it. And if all if the characters are logged in it works. But DU doesn't let you run the game multiple times on your computer (mine could run 4 copies, it just doesn't work) and the nano pack queue doesn't work offline so in order to get the value out of the nano pack queues for all your characters you need to use them the way they actually work.
  8. You can actually use this to your advantage if you understand how it works. So long as you log out with an active job you can have jobs queued against a linked container which doesn't yet have all the materials for the jobs. When you log back in it will try to catch up the queue and this will work so long as the requisite materials are there when you log back in. So you can bank some manufacturing on an alt and then go gather what you need. When you have enough raw material you log the alt back in and insta-build.
  9. Yes, but they're selling large engines, metalwork industry and a whole load of other things for around 150h each. TCUs could be one of those things if they just wanted people to try them out.
  10. I wasn't brave enough to link my steam account to a real DU character but CheekyFreeloader had some fun trying this out and it was working pretty well for me. There are a surprising number of tiles already claimed on Haven. Are the TCU ingredient changes just for this demo version or is this a spoiler?
  11. The collateral could be a loan of some sort. So you can take the mission and so long as you deliver the cargo you are fine, but if you fail the mission then you go negative (assuming you don't have 100mil) and there are restrictions on what you can do until you pay it back. Would work for safe zone hauling where there aren't many reasons for not delivering. For the PvP zone then I think this sort of thing comes under 'do not fly what you can't afford to lose'. If the collateral is more than you have then get richer before hauling through the PvP zone.
  12. Usually with this type of 'software store' if you go with a high profile one they make you agree to offer your cheapest price on their store and not undercut it anywhere else. And then they take a chunk. I haven't ever put anything on steam though so it might be different. But this is the cost of doing business and exposing the game to a lot of people. You have to ask yourself would you rather pay X to play a game with 1000 people in it or 1.5X to play a game with 10000?
  13. But you can still use Markee right now and get the cheap price for a year sub, and I'm wondering if that is part of the point here -- to encourage people to front-load the cost as much as possible by buying 1 year subs now instead of shorter ones. It worked on me, look how much more expensive that 12 monther is going to be! I've also been using Markee recently for the same reason, would be nice to see an EU or UK equivalent for these GTCs.
  14. Apologies if this is a duplicate question but this is a long thread. Does anyone know if the game time obtained from the refer a friend program counts towards the post-wipe rewards (i.e. if I got 1 month from the referer program and then bought 12 months does that get me the 'exotic' tier)?
  15. Can this type of station also have a base shield? Or is that just for alien cores?
  16. I have 200L, which was a decent amount at the time. I spent time working on the search but was never one of the core members and thought it was a fair share at the time (there was never very much of it and most was never given out). I was pleased when they announced the reward and really annoyed when they set the bar too high (100L would have been better, or have 2 tiers if they want like with the backer ones). I let off a lot of steam and am over it now ...
  17. During the PTS weekend I went into build mode on a starter outpost and got the element stacking error. But only once though. It is, indeed, very broken. Even without the stackingnsystem it is irritating to click on blue elements and get errors, forcing builds to be trial and error. You'd think, though, that if ever there was a good time to change the stacking rules for brakes it would be st the same time as a wipe so we don't have to fix a bunch of existing constructs we bought from ship sellers.
  18. Well, that just means they were listening to *someone*. Not necessarily the forums. I would love to be proved wrong though. Someone from NQ could like or reply here and we'd know they're at least reading this stuff. But will they ....
  19. I'm not so sure. Seems like we get completely ignored until someone says something and gets banned. Perhaps grepping the forums is a more accurate term.
  20. Yep. I have seen many questions asked on this forum. Very few are ever answered. Occasionally something happens which makes me wonder if NQ might be reading these threads. Perhaps Aphelia can come down here and answer some stuff from time to time ....
  21. Yes, but they then got it wrong and then silence. It's not out of character for them TBH. They seem to be trying to create some sort of 'rare valuable item' out if it by limiting the number they hand out. And that's probably what the people who bought most of the Thoramine for Starbase money wanted. But personally I couldn't care less because it will have no value other than a souvenir put up in my base. There would be no point splitting the stack and making two, selling one, etc because where's the fun in that? The people who are all about that sort of thing aren't the people who this sort of thing should be for IMO. Make a different rare collectable for them and sell it directly for cash if you want. They can have their 'limited edition golden $ statue' which cost £100 and there are only ever 10 of them. I can get my spinning statue of JC and stick it on my virtual front lawn to remind me of fun times which were had. Everyone is happy. But that's not the way things are done in DU.
  22. I don't think the schematic copy times are the bottleneck. It's the actual building time which bottlenecks things. But you probably could just about have one in 24 hours.
  23. There's nothing wrong with a little light trolling to keep everyone honest and make sure things don't get forgotten about. Did I mention how NQ screwed me out of my thoramine collectable reward by setting the bar a bit high. Now the people who bought theirs with Starbase money get to have the collectable while I don't even though I was part of the group that solved the puzzle. That's pretty much max stupid and without trolling the occasional thread it might get forgotten about.
