  1. 'sup Bro ?

Is Dr. Drizzay, so lizzay, and plizzay with D-O-double-Gizzay !

From all of the online stuff I've used DaSchiz, DaSchiznit and I have never seen anyone else use the doggystyle.  I don't even care if you kill me in game, I can't be mad at ya. B)

And your post was made at 4:20 ... just keeps getting better

  2. The first thing I'm going to do is build automatic turrets along the parameters of the Arcship and other safe zones to spawn kill players the moment they exit the safe zone. Why? Because I'm Malicious!

Well I'll just take them out to restore balance around the Ark zone. Why?  Because that's Yin Yang  :P

BTW why like your own post?  HAHAHA

  3. To me size doesn't matter (that's what she said) but it is all about the people. The name, logo, anything meta game like rpg stuff doesn't matter much to me ... people give that stuff meaning.

So not sure if this is really what you are asking but all that stuff in the thread title doesn't mean much to me.  Within the same org or not, I like to play with people who have some degree of respect, honor, trust, relaxed for the most part but still goalish type oriented; knows when to play/relax and knows when it is srs time to be srs. These people like to compromise and work well with others.

If you have a group of people like that then whatever highs or lows come along you all have people to rely on.  Stuff some orgs make mandatory like contributing to the org monetarily or devoting time to some organizational project or risking own property to defend the organization's interests. .... these things are dictated in some orgs but the people I like to play with WANT to do these things.  It isn't asked of them but  it is offered by them.

Like in Eve, I have a solo corp but a tight group of many good people across many orgs big and small and we do things together because we want to not just because we are under the same banner. Those situations I have been fortunate enough to be a part of are the most satisfying to me.

  4. Yes visually as well imo.  How weird would it be to see a ship but can not lock on or see it on your radar?  I'd think there is a bug or something tbh.

As far as a while to charge up weapons it can't be op of course but it should be a choice that works in terms of being offensive.

  5. Or set it up so permissions are kill everyone not in org.  Lure them in and boom ... trap set and executed.  Then no need to store tons of resources ... and you just may collect them instead.

Not that I would do such a thing but I'm sure someone would.

  6. Slightly off topic but I hope there will be an option to automatically renew my subscription and cue my skill learning as long as I like. If I have a 2 or 3 month break its good to know I've been learning skills for those months I diddnt log in and manually pay my subcription. My eve account was set up like this so when I came back I had learned like 3 months worth of skills without even logging in. It's a waste not playing the game I know, but I was thankful that I came back to being able to do something that would have been a long and frustrating wait for

    I wouldn't see why NQ wouldn't like donations ;)

  7. Yes, but we do not know if you'll be able to apply a script to a construct you purchased without edit permissions. If scripts are considered a part of the construct, then you would not be able to add a custom script to a ship you purchased from another player, just as you wouldn't be able to take the ship apart and reverse-engineer it.

JC stated that you will be able to on a purchased product. If you own it then you have edit permissions.

  8. You could be a spy org in disguise. Oops I ruined it all, create another from scratch then. It would fit nicely, you'd at some point reveal your dark side.

Thanks for blowing my cover .... geeeesh ... last two months of subterfuge and work all for nothing.  Now I'll have to create Yin Yang Confederation ......

    OH SHI- did it again.

  9. I doubt they will be able to stop someone that want to implement a backdoor if the code is unreadable.

As I understood JC in the interview he only said they wasn't a "blow up on spot" function but through unseemly means you could do the exactly the same (overtime or not).

    For example :

They will be element that receive signals and react on reception so you would just have to script a suicide function that takes control of the ship direction and send it in the nearest sun or to a enemy base upon receiving a "go suicide :)" signal.

You could also make the ship broadcast signals around itself upon entering a pirate-full zone: "I'm here : (x,y, z)" for all pirates to see

Or make the ship use too much fuel by activating the shield or whatever consuming task randomly to deplete the ship and render it useless.

Because with a good script your construct will be better and do more than with the default script.

Furthermore a script will be very specific to the construct anyway so you won't be able to just copy-paste it unless you put it inside the exact same construct.

JC stated nothing that will be game breaking.  Plus, once you sell something with a script in it, the ownership of that changes and is no longer in control of the seller.

A good script written by you would be better than the default and that is my point.  With access to your creation, your scripting now people can simply buy the default cheaper and copy your script and put it in the new default item. There is no motivation to continue to buying the same item from you except laziness.  So the price increase for your item versus the default isn't based on your creation and how better the functionality is but how much more are people willing to pay to have it entered already versus entering the script themselves.

  10. Lots of points already made but the simple test I use to determine P2W or not is: All factors in Pay to Win must occur. Paying is the constant but what exactly are you winning and how? What insurmountable advantage are you gaining by throwing rl cash into the game?

In this game and many like it items must be produced by players. There is no NPC vendor you pump a bunch of credits into and get gear and weapons from. Resources still have to be gathered by players and items need to be assembled by players. There also isn't anything that can't be acquired by simply playing the game. At worst its pay to progress faster but again nothing you gain from buying a bunch of DACs and selling them in game will give an insurmountable advantage.

If gear was the end all be all then might have a point but its clearly not as skills, stats, attributes and such also play a role in character power. This is a sandbox game, not some arena instance grinder heck combat in this game isn't even the end all be all experience.

Besides if one is so strict and non-tolerant of paying for stuff in these games not sure what games you can play anymore nowadays. There a clear examples that are P2W, there a clear line that they shouldn't cross and honestly I haven't seen anything yet form this Dev and this game that comes anywhere close to that line.

Exactly!  I'm sure with all of these pages this point has been made, including my earlier post but Patton is making his own definition which doesn't apply to this game. The flaw in the arguement isn't the arguement itself but the definition it is based on.

It is like saying a rainbow is only blue because I define it by saying it ends where the constant ends (color change).  Ok ... maybe not the best analogy but there is no use in arguing with Patton b/c his definition is this issue .... he is looking at a cell and not the body as a whole.  There are two different perspectives BUT!!! each is looking at two different things; the arguments aren't about the same thing.

  11. I beg to differ organizations wishing to build a artistically coherent area around their headquarter (like mine) and not having grievers put a giant penis near your beautiful building will fight for that territory.

And in the future, the bigger the territories you have in the safezone might reflect the power you have in the system. At least in a newcomer's eye.

I guess you didn't get the jedi mind trick reference at the end of my post.  ;)

  12. JC said that there won't be anything like that able to be put in. Like a backdoor kill switch or anything like that.

If I spend time creating a kick-ass script for an element, then after the first one is sold my script is known already.  I can't "invent" a unique item and continue to benefit with income until someone else "invents" something better.

    Element A is basic

My "invented" element is better so I charge more

After buying one of those elements from me, why would you buy another from me when you now have the script? You'd buy the cheaper element A and simply enter the script copied from the one you bought.

See what I mean?  So why spend hours on a better script to sell in a market then?  This takes away a huge aspect that I thought LUA would bring into the game. The only reason to spend hours writing a better script is for your own use to have advantage over others or to distribute to your own organization's members.  There is no inventing the !phone and cashing in for a bit.

  13. Markets are created by players.  How safe a market will be depends on the players. There will be tools to have very safe to not safe at all market locations.  Obviously the market creator or creators have a personal interest in making their market as safe as possible .... more traffic or transactions the bigger the pie is from where they will get their percentage from.

IDK if there will be a distance limit as to the available buy sell items or contracts you can see.  Maybe depends on your technology such as only can see planet wide, or then system wide, or then galaxy wide. No matter what though, you will have to physically go to that market to grab the item.
