You seen a Video on youtube and decided that Du pvp was the worst ever. But did you I play DU PvP try it out by yourself?
I play DU PvP from the first day it went live back in Alpha. I would prefer it many times over let's say War Thunder PvP that I played for like 4 years non-stop before getting into DU.
You say there is no strategy in DU PvP which is absolutely wrong. In DU PvP you have a 3D space Map that is empty, yes but the composition of the forces fighting and their setup is very important.
Also to have many hours in combat favors the most experienced pilot in a Fight, not just the elements and talents you bring. This is the only game I know where you can bring your own Design to a Fight that it's not a template served already. In our Alliance we get exited each time there is a fight happening in DU.
If it is that bad how you state why is this so? DU PvP has been badly promoted and has not been made easy to learn for newcomers.

Strongly disagree. Building within the confines of the PvP environment, making designs that both push the limits and still look good, balancing compromises across the board, is far more interesting for me as a ship builder than making yet another hauler or warp shuttle.

You work with cross sections, keeping an eye on mass the whole time so you can keep your max speed as high as possible, as a fast ship has many advantages over a slow one. You keep an eye on thrust, because the more Gs of thrust you can manage, the faster your ship will accelerate and reach the top speed. But more engines for most thrust means more weight and thus lower top speed. Using more military engines or higher-tier military engines means more fuel consumption. Your decision on which weapon-loadout you equip your ship with also impacts the ship's mass and thus its overall performance. If you pick cannons, you pick close-range weapons that require being able to catch up to targets and get in close to them quick, but cannon ammo is relatively heavy compared to other weapon types. So now you fight the compromises of best-as-can-be top speed, thrust and also your ship's dps.

In contrast you can go big tanky battleship, where top speed falls out of the equation and it's all up to the rest of the stats, with focus less on quickness but how tanky you can make the ship. Also, for the most part, ignores cross sections.

THIS requires you to find creative solutions. It provides challenge. You build a million LEGO things that all do the same, how dull would that be.

What an uninformed statement of someone who does not know what they are talking about. Always so quick to judge when you lack the insight to know better.

All I see here is someone who is willingly not involving themselves with PvP pinning all the blame and all their issues with the game onto this aspect of the game, because that's the easy thing to do. Addition of PvP and their future plans to add more mechanics to it is not something bad, just because you feel whatever you enjoy in this game feels neglected for it. NQ is incredibly slow developing this game, most of what they do nowadays is rosey talk of a dream-like future while at the same time shooting down community feedback to what the community wants to see, saying it's not planned, not happening, not possible, or whatever else excuses they can find. That is on NQ though, not on the fact that PvP exists in this game.

Player numbers and specifically PvP player numbers are very low, we're in a sub-to-play early access beta stage game.

The whole fight around Gamma Alien Core had around 150 constructs involved. You compare it to fully launched, decade-long running game that doesn't come with the uncertainty of the terrain DU is right now.
Not sure how the lack of players and a lack of unified opposition of the players towards a big adversary like Legion is "bad game design". Lack of marketing engagement to create hype or whatnot to bring in players might be NQ's fault, but it's not a question of game design in that aspect.

Where I do blame NQ here is that they didn't do anything with the Gamma fight. They could have made a video of sorts to promote it, show how PvP actually plays out in their game compared to the false advertising they do with their youtube videos on PvP. Get some info from the parties involved, backed by the data of the server and pull it off documentary style, generating some hype and maybe moving people to involve themselves with it, to at least check it out.

If I tell John Doe: "I sell you a DAC for 20M quanta" and he gives me the money, and I do not give him the DAC, that is not even against the TOS. So with the lack of trust and guarantees, you can pretty much only trade via a trustworthy party, or with with people you trust directly, corret?

This is about as good as the old dispensers, which didnt show what you buy as you pay.

Here's an idea, instead of dropping this all on us in one release (fixing our ships, trying to figure out how to reallocate cores, go around in 2 wks and tokenise everything and do handovers, recruit org members, renegotiate terms, AND demolish a bunch of cores) give us:

    - DAMAGE ASSESSMENT: the planned screen or JSON export with total count of our constructs by player and org (which we should have had a year ago.) THEN ask us for feedback so we can all make an informed decision on this release based on how much it will really impact us,

    - TOOLS TO EASE THE TRANSITION: a "quick demolish" cos we've all known forever that pulling down a L static is a frikking nightmare and you've just never listened; also fix static core alignment (again for the 1000th time) and other basic tools cos many of us are going to have to rearrange our whole set-up, move bases, consolidate with mining operations, relocate from surface to space, etc. also many players haven’t bothered to rebuild or move our bases yet from getting done over in Demeter geometry reset, and

    - REASONABLE TIMEFRAMES: more than 2 wks(!) to absorb the initial reconstruction and redistribution of everything we've build in the last 16 mths.

    - EXCLUDE SPACE CORES: I mean, this should have been blindingly obvious. Space stations might be big, but they're rarely close together, there's no terrain to render, and generally less traffic around them so system o/h is far lower than ground constructs. All those who want to build very large bases can move into space, driving gameplay progression and luring more players one-step closer to PvP.

    Not rocket science.

I really hope there will be a good solution for data export.
Several projects in the community depend on that.

We in our org built in months of work a whole own economy system.
Members can store their ores in our ore deposit, they get "HC" (our own currency) in exchange, and can use these HC in the fully automated shopping center to buy nearly any item for a cheap and steady price (what is important especially for new players). Our players can transfer their HC to other members, or can use them to order something from our industry department (if its not in the shopping center, or a really large order). This system works well and is a great addition and an advanced community creation. (If you are interested, check this video: Hyperion Warehouse and HC-System it's German and not 100% up to date, but you can understand most of the content just with the visuals)

And there are many more complex systems like this from other orgs and players, that rely on sync with external databases, because the DBs in the game are too small to handle this.

All of these advanced scripted community creations would be lost if there is no proper and easy way to export the data anymore.
If we are restricted to just the ingame DBs, this will kill massive creativity in scripting because of the limitations.

If you don't want PvP don't go to the PvP zone.

There is a gigantic safe zone which was expressly created for this.
If people go out into the unarmed PvP zone it is THEIR problem, not this of the game.

The ore that we harvest in PvP zone costs us extremely more expensive than that which can be harvested in PvE zone. We are spending tens / hundreds of millions in quanta / playing time to have PvP ships to defend against pirates. We cannot let people freely mine without making this effort, it is unfair competition.
Someone so unlovable and condescending that you will have to understand this.

DUAL UNIVERSE is an initially PvP game. Yes, PvE has to see its place. But it's not YOUR game.

Who are these "normal" people you are talking about?
This is a game. In which you are perfectly fine in the safe zone.
You are trying to draw conclusions from in-game actions to the actual person which is playing a game. And that is an extremely weird thing to do in my opinion.

In a nutshell. PvP is not fair and will not be fair.
Protect you beloved and your friends. Stab your enemys and take everything they have.

The imagination that pvp space is fair is very optimistic on your side.

"Don't fly something in pvp space you can't reimburse"
If you fly in pvp space without weapon and you insist that you should be not shot at because of that, you are a ******.

Kids, have you never played any kind of pvp game?

I just want you to know, that the "Legion" isn't something completely new.

At the beginning there was the AC (Ascendancy) and some other orgs and alliances that stood against the AC.
Most of the counterparts to the AC vanished with the time, so the AC became the most dominant alliance in the game.
At the end some members and organizations in the AC were uncomfortable with the "government" of the alliance, especially because several of the major orgs became nearly completely inactive. As a result, they founded the "Legion".

So in fact the Legion is just something like the more active part of the former AC with just a few new members. It's nothing new.

But to be honest, even as a player of one of the Legion orgs I'm not completely happy with the monopolism that established. But thats a general issue of the game and its players, not just of the Legion itself. Several other active PvP-Factions that could've been a real threat to the Legion became more and more inactive, split up or moved to other games. But this game is dynamic. Sure, the playerbase got much smaller in the last months. But there are still more than enough active players who could stand up against the Legion. It's a matter of organisation and effort.

If everyone stays in his small 10-man organization, its clear that they don't have a chance to fight Legion. But in fact, most of them would even struggle against a single org of the Legion. If you want to play PvP in DU very active, you have to organize yourself in bigger groups. But yes, NQ could do something about this, so that even smaller groups could be more annoying to large alliances. If there would be some ways for smaller orgs to still get the needed ressources and rise up faster, or something like "hit and run" - so you can attack single ships of large orgs and withdraw fast enough before reinforcements appear - this would give the PvP in the game much more depth (like the pirates or rebels in most sci-fi movies). But currently nearly all this features that would make PvP more balanced are missing.

This is NQ’s bad design, not legions fault. NQ was warned about asteroids design flaws and given advise on how to make it better, deaf ears.

Legion is probably only 100-150 active at most.. shows state of the game if that number is the dominant force that shows this bad design off.

Juventer reacted to NQ-Nyzaltar in "DSI / TSU / UEE" investigation
    Dear community members,

A few weeks ago, we took a stance regarding “out of the game”/IRL-related practices to discredit, threaten or shame publicly another Community Member (even if the involved person is guilty of several infractions) that could be an opponent in-game.

As the DSI (Dark Star Imperium) / TSU (Trinary Star Union)  / UEE (United Earth Empire) case blew out of proportion during January, we investigated.

We are really serious about differentiating real life from the game itself. Unfortunately some didn’t take our stance seriously. We gave them a chance to come clean in a private discussion and restart on an healthier basis. They didn’t take the opportunity for what it was: a last chance.
As they preferred “playing dumb” with Novaquark staff, we can’t have any trust that they won’t continue. Therefore we have decided to ban permanently those Community Members for various reasons (all not being banned for the same reason(s)):
Not being honest towards Novaquark staff. Making and encouraging ghost accounts. Abusive recruitment practices. Practising real life harassment and/or threatening another player. Making false report to Novaquark’s Customer Support in an attempt to make ban someone they dislike. Spreading real life information without the involved person’s consent, aka Doxxing.
(strong reminder: even if a person gives you real life information about him/her, it’s not okay to share these information with ANYONE else without his/her consent. You can’t predict how the other person(s) will use this information and if he/she/they won’t share it again. If some trouble occurs following this sharing, you can be held legally responsible).

This might seem an extreme sanction but this shows how serious we are when we say we are not going to let toxic attitude and practices spread in the Community. Our goal to build a healthy and friendly community isn’t just a figure of speech. Anyone caught to spread or encourage any toxic behavior will be removed from the Community as it will be considered as damaging the Community and negating Novaquark staff efforts (without saying that it’s time consuming and a waste of our resources).

Saying it’s a long time grudge coming from before the arrival in the Dual Universe community is absolutely not a valid excuse. If someone has a personal grudge with another community member, he/she should either:
Leave it at the doorstep and/or settle it in private and peacefully with no one else involved. Contact directly (and only) Novaquark staff if the issue persists.
The moment someone uses the Dual Universe community as a tool for IRL revenge, he/she is not welcome anymore. We’re all here to have fun. It should always stay that way.

Therefore, the following Community Members have been permanently banned from the Community:
    Lime / Fullsend / mmtheboss / Sakej99 [DSI] Primarch Zelevas / TharisUEE Melkor_Morgoth
In addition the DSI Organization member list has been reset, and the Novaquark Team has appointed CN_Firestorm as the new owner of the Organization, should he accept to take a fresh start on a healthy basis.

We also give a warning to all those who were indirectly involved (with the evidence we found) but not actively participating in the recent community troubles. Next time, there won’t be any new warning. If you become involved against your will in some shady real life activities, you have only two healthy options:
Leaving the group doing such activity immediately. Report it to Novaquark staff.
If you stay in such group without leaving or reporting it and the group is caught, you take the risk to get the same sanction as those actively involved.
This investigation has taken (or more precisely wasted) a lot of time from Novaquark staff. We really don’t like to intervene in players affairs. However, if there is a chance that such affairs damage the Community by toxic behavior, you can expect Novaquark staff to step in. We hope we won’t have to take the same measures again.

    Best regards,
    The Novaquark Team.

In the PB under Librarys you can run code.. so my idea is that in the filter option in the (at this moment not existing filter ) "CustomLib(LibName)"  where you can then declare functions that can be accesed by and other lua script on the PB via LibName.FunctionName() ore something like that.
