I can't even get NQ to clean up my neighbors racist slurs. I am surprised they even took a stand on everything. I logged a ticket, even went to the discord and tried to get a tech to do something. He just said "it will be taken care of" and then blew me off by saying "it was the end of his shift." I am about to send the stuff to a friend so he can take it to the courts of reddit how DU allows racist slurs and harassments with said slurs.

So with all that being said I am surprised NQ did anything about the ship jacking.

    About the situation:
The organization Desolation (https://community.dualthegame.com/organization/4124/) has used a bug very actively to move ships from the Safe Zones (even planets) to the pvp zone to destroy and therefore steal them. Around 300 players have lost there ships and a lot of new players with that everthing they had resulting in a big quit wave. We know, that Desolation even allows their members explicitly in their rules to use any kind of bug and exploit, which is clearly against the rules of Novaquark.

NQ now officially confirmed, that this organization doesn't get any punishment. So basicly this whole rules here
are complete bullshit, because you can do whatever you want, Novaquark will not punish you.

If that is the way NQ wants to go, this game will die pretty quickly because all new players, that don't have the power or organizations behind them yet will quit the game very quickly.

In my opinion, this is a very poor and weak behavior of Novaquark and a punsh in the face for every honest player in this community.

I have a 24 day old support request that has not even had an acknowledgement. Xsolla were kind enough to reply but only to refer me to DU as they say they can't do anything for me. This game is a scam. No replies from fanboys please.

vs what the actual requirements are

So I am not saying this is a scam, but this is definitely a case of people buying a game with wrong info.  And wait a few weeks?  I am paying a time share to play, I am not waiting weeks for a game I paid to enjoy today.     Here is the trailer I watched that lead me to buying the game.  this looks and sounds like a polished game.  Its not what I was sold.  Been 5 days with no reply from support.   So I am feeling a bit taken for a ride here

I really wanted to avoid putting this up here, but alas here I am a week later with an unanswered support ticket and lack of any faith whatsoever in NQ's ability to actually solve anything.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen! I have had a support ticket in for an issue that has prevented me from even launching the game and was looking for assistance from them, as it is only their product that is acting like this. Yet, like I said, here I stand a week a later without even a single communication from NQ acknowledging that they have even LOOKED at the ticket. I work as  an IT support technician , and I can say most people in this industry would lose their jobs for not even bothering trying to reach out with a simple "We are looking into this" or "Thanks, we will start looking into this."

Proof that I'm not just ranting:

I have never ran into a support team who has blatantly refused any form of communication with the end user, and it's down right awful when it comes to company image. Do not try and tell me "well their ticketing system is busy" or "they don't have enough people to handle the tickets," It takes two seconds to type "We are looking into this issue."

I would also like to note things actually got destroyed in EvE online.  Present gameplay when you crash you never lose your stuff. Well the game world doesn't at least. No territory warfare, your bases are all safe. No need to ever replenish your L containers. Add more maybe, but not replenish. Even in PvP if you lose your shit the enemy can get it all, and keep it. Imo we need element destruction back sooner rather than later.  At the very least in PvP and cant til things are more stable for it to happen for everyday crashes and re-entry errors. This helps the economy, especially if your pressed for time, and only needing to replace 1 or 2 items to get you mobile again, you will see people probably buying more.

The thing is more than enough time has passed now for these issues to have been fixed. So at this point either NQ does not have the money to properly upgrade the servers or they don't know what they are doing. And that's the honest truth. No more excuses need to be made for NQ anymore. It's been 2 weeks, and this is the worst beta release I have ever seen in 20 years. DU should have NEVER been a single server for everyone, for any reason. DU needs to be at least 3 completely separate server shards. And until they understand that the tech. simply doesn't work for what they are trying to do, these issues most likely won't go away.

And no they don't communicate at all. We are still getting random restarts without notice and stealth hot fixes that break more of the game then they fix. For example they told us in a two sentence announcement that they fixed industry. What they actually did was require 1800L of all materials, not update recipes to reflect it, not update the tutorials which it broke, and never told anyone what they actually did. They have yet to address the players who duped tons of items in all the server lag, or the exploiters who literally cleaned out the moons of ore 24 hours after beta release. They insist that everything be overly hard for players, and that we deal with the server issues on top of it.

It's frankly getting stupid. Right now NQ is basically a poor EA. And whats worse is we keep being told to...just be patient. Just have patience. No...You fix the issues NQ. Fix them already. Stop completely disrespecting out time, effort, and money.

As the title says, blueprints are 100% broken currently. I have nearly 2 dozen of them, ones from alpha, and ones I made today. None of them work. They either say I'm missing items in my inventory that "I HAVE IN MY INVENTORY" hence the green cube. Or when placed the blueprint is ONLY the modules are placed, and all honeycomb materials vanish into the ether, removed from my inventory but never placed, leaving me with a giant ball of floating modules.

Their server backend has a long way to go. I keep getting weird errors and bugs while trying to mine.

One of the weirdest is the parameter not set which makes the last mine task mine the smallest possible size. Why would it do that? Why wouldn't it just .. not mine anything?

1 and 2 - has to work anyway, otherwise servertech failed and NQ will not have their wet dream of "million of ppl playing on a single shard"

3 - have 64gb ram too and it lags af. While it might be a bit of an issue for some ppl with 8gb or smth, it's not common that ppl have problems because of that

4 - some ppl (like me) CAN'T be wired. And for many ppl 50mbit is all they get. If DU needs more than that, then they exclude 80% of ppl

5 - if ppl dont try that then they're lazy. But Half of the ppl I helped had login problems AND did everything right.

I totally get that...but I think NQ could manage expectations far better.

They said "hey the game is now in public beta, come sign up for a subscription and play!" -- I think many players expected a more stable product in return for their money.

You can't really blame people for "expecting too much."

It was up to NQ to set those expectations and communicate the honest state of the game. How they present the product to the consumer is 100% up to them.

They could have called it a public alpha and not done so much press -- they still would have attracted a lot of new players for funding and testing, only without souring the first impressions for so many new people. They presented it as a beta with some bugs, not "help us be our alpha QA, and pay us for it please"...

It is a public launch -- no matter what label you slap on it, when you charge for a product and present it as being usable in your marketing, you can't blame the customer for being disappointed.

I will absolutely be coming back and playing ( yeah i paid for a year ? ) -- hopefully this influx gives NQ the funding they need, but I worry they're going to need to earn back the trust of a lot of players...and that instead of doing that they are going to dig in and become a super-niche product that never has the resources it needs.

    Michaelk,

No NQ has not stated anything about these problems. They have yet to officially stated any form of communication regarding server issues. People keep buying the game, and the server issues keep mounting. NQ is more than happy to take peoples money, even when they can't actually play the game. Which is sickening. I think we all completely understand they are a small team making a big game. I'm certain that's rough. But there is simply no excuse for server issues to still be a problem nearly a week in to the Beta.

As for the Discord. It's a toxic mega fanboy fan club. It's not even worth commenting there or seeking help. They don't even use a proper support ticket bot for the Discord for help issues, so the support channel is awful mess.

Has NQ even said anything about these problems?

All I see on their social channels are posts about how much fun people are having -- no mention of issues, timeline for fixes, or apologies. Generally no reply to anyone complaining in the comments. They didn't even bother with an apology in the email where they reset all our passwords.

I also have seen some people on these forums that just want to shut down anyone with anything critical to say about DU. If mods are also shutting people down on discord?

It isn't a good look for a community.

I get it if you are mad that people aren't seeing the game for all its potential...but NQ needs to at least say something about the problems people are having, never mind quickly fixing them as people would expect of an MMO at any public launch.

"Sorry we didn't expect it to be so popular, give us a week to fix things, and we'll credit every account 1 free week of playtime" would go a long, long way to keeping people interested and happy. Radio silence and trolly "loyal" fans is not really a winning strategy imo.

(if y'all alpha players that saw the game at its best really want to help NQ, be patient with new players especially if the issues are clearly NQ's fault)

People are not just going to deal with the server issues. They'll just leave. That's how this works, and you end up with a failed game. And don't get me started on the Discord. If you aren't a troll or a mega fanboy they mute you. Any feedback given is instantly shutdown. I was personally muted for reporting someone to the Mods for name calling, just because the Mods knew them. So you have no idea what you are talking about.

Work on making a solid sentence and we'll talk.

    Dear NQ,
While I am sure you are working steadily and extremely focused on dealing with the current server issues. I feel it's warranted since it's been nearly a week dealing with these issues, that server issues need to come to an end. And sooner than later. All Betas have a rough start. However this is the worse my community and myself have ever seen.

Server issues for much longer are simply not going to be accepted by the DU community. We are starting to lose players, because they have a bad taste in their mouths, and most will not return.
Players are spending hours and in some cases days on loading screens. Players are dealing with the constant pending operation, computing data, and terrain that doesn't load.
Players can't voice their concerns on Discord, due to the Mod Staff actively silencing discontent, and issuing unwarranted mutes. Which I assume you have directed. And on top of all this we get no communication at all. Just random restarts that actually make game play worse.

Regardless, the server issues need to be wrapped up and soon. You are charging for a Beta, that has no current way to cancel the subscription, and you expect players to just keep dealing with these issues. That's not how this works. Deal with the server issues, even if you have to schedule employees around the clock to get it done. There is no more time on this issue. NQ you are killing the game in the first week of Beta. There is only so much to do in the game, and currently players can't even do it.

Does anyone have a direct email or phone number to reach support?   My friends have been playing since Friday after I invited them with my beta codes.   I am a backer who has played up until the new beta launch on Aug 27th.   I am not able to log in to the game, I can't play with my friends, I am not satisfied with the over 48 hour wait for something this simple to fix.

I am getting HTTP ERROR: ERROR 100 when trying to log into the game.  The error says my username or password is wrong.   I have verified my email.  I have changed my password 12 times.   Each time, I am able to log into all the normal websites for DU (including support).    However, I can't log into the game.

I am not satisfied with the fact I gave them $300 to support the game, addicted my friends to play it ... and now can't get in due to some stupid account glitch.   Is there anyone who can be reached via phone or email?   The support ticket que is obviously a joke.   And the Discord reps said they can't help.

if anyone knows, please post - I would really like to play the game.

How about some acknowledgement from NQ? All I see from their Twitter are screenshots of "how great the game is and how much fun people are having".

They bungled the release and are just doubling down on the marketing efforts to attract more people instead of being honest, taking a step back, and fixing the problems.

That will only make this issue much worse. Every new player they attract that has these issues will feel betrayed and angry. First impressions matter, and NQ hasn't even made an effort to be honest about them...

Looking at their social media it's like the release had no problems at all!

If I were an investor, I'd be panicking right now, too...because they bungled the release and seem to have zero self-awareness of that fact...and seem to want to hide that from new players which will only make more new players angry and not come back.

NQ should acknowledge the rough launch to deter new players from jumping in until they've fixed extremely basic problems.

Otherwise they are just digging a deeper hole.

Which is the fault of NQ execs, not their gamers and customers...

The rushed a release when every dev working on this project likely knew it wasn't ready. Their password system doesn't even work, and that's extremely basic and critical!

That will always be a recipe for disaster and stress -- it isn't "whiners" that makes life stressful for customer service and dev, it's leadership.

The leadership decided to push a game that wasn't ready so they could get more funding rolling in on a monthly basis, and it backfired. Else their leadership was naive enough to believe their product was ready.

Holding leadership accountable does have a point, because all those people working sleeplessly are doing so not because "gamers are whining" but because they decided to launch a product and ask for money before it was ready.

I get that people are loyal because they've seen how great the game can be...but sycophants can ruin a game as quickly as "whiners" if they attack anyone with completely valid criticism.

This is a really weird take to me...

Y'all know they are asking for money, right? They're asking us to pay for a product with the promise that it will be at least somewhat playable, if a bit rough and buggy.

That's a fair expectation for a public beta launch.

The OP hasn't been able to play because of unusually bad mistakes with a lack of infrastructure available at launch (20+ million dollars raised didn't seem to go to auto-scaling servers!) and an inability to securely handle passwords, which is extremely basic.

I want DU to be a great game, but it is 100% acceptable to whine when the game you purchased doesn't really work. This was not a "smooth" beta by any stretch.

If it was free I'd think differently, but people are paying for a time-limited subscription to a product they can't yet enjoy. Each day they can't login is money wasted.

The "gain" on doing this topic is holding the company accountable for their shoddy launch -- because we all want this to be a great game and it will absolutely be ruined if they can't get on track quickly. How many failed logins do you think people will do before giving up and writing the money off as a loss? If this initial group of new players goes away, it might be years before they can earn them back with fixes and improvements...

Great that you're loyal to some game company, but that's even less helpful than people "whining" that the game they paid for doesn't work.
