How do you politely ask for something?

Recommended Posts

Here are the phrases mentioned in this lesson:
Give me – This is very informal and often mistaken as rude. For example, “Give me a glass of water.”
Could I have – It is one of polite ways in asking favors. ...
I'd like – It is also a very courteous and it fits every situation. ...
Would you do me a favor?

The most effective way is with a armed team behind you when asking the question.

I mostly love to use:

"I have an offer you Can't refuse"

Yep, the godfather is very polite too :D

Shows you just how much politeness is worth. And how meaningless its presence, or absence, when you prefer substance over style.

Yeah but only the opposite side of course. My side are definitely the good guys.

Because whoever I side with is definitely the right side.

So... don't be rude. -_-

I would like you to give me a glass of wate, please.

Can you please give me a glass or water?

Can i have a glass of water please?

Basically you use "can you" our "i would like" and add "please" .

Simple recipe.
