Required Internet Connection

Hey Everyone,

As you may read in the Title,

How fast should my Internet Connection be to play DU? (I mean mb/s if its possible to predict something like that.)

 

Ps: if there is already a Topic about that throw me in the cellar and send me a link to it. ?

Multiplayer games (especially MMOs) try to minimize the amount of data that's sent from a client to a server, so it's usually very small. I've downloaded games with most of my internet while playing multiplayer games before. You should worry more about ping (the time it takes for a packet of data to be sent to the server).

A fast ping isn't neccessarily needed since DU is not twitch based. 

 

A good internet connection with lots of mb/s is a nice to have since you need to load all player made constructs

IIRC NQ recommends a minimum Internet connection of 6.000 kb/s but 2.000 should work too. As has already been mentioned, a good connection is only a nice to have ☺

I was able to play with a tethered 4G internet connection from the hospital with no real issues, so I'm not sure how that factors in but there's some info for you

I would say any modern internet connection has enough mb/s to support any game. 

Ping is not a issue. 

 

But as all games i (strongly) advise a low packet loss connection. 

So i would stay away from home wireless and 3g,4g in a low covered /saturated zone.
