Do you think it would be possible in game to, with the correct skillset, to hack in to an organisations space station and gather intel/other info.

Also do you think there would be a way for a space station to detect whether or not it is being "hacked".

First of all, that would require long-distance communication between DPUs (which I hope will appear in game). Secondly, an organisation should store their Very Important Data on such DPU (it would be safer to store them on, for example, external website). Moreover, if long-range communication is possible, it won't be reasonable to apply it to your ultrasecret DPU. The best way to protect data is to keep them offline.

it may be that certain tech could be built such as encryption and hacking tools .. the higher the encryption tech the more chance of automatic detection and prevention of hacking and of course vise versa

Chances are any important documentation will be held on a person's PC in real life.

Now, if we were to hack a Core Unit in order to extract authorisation codes, that would be a totally different thing, but still, it would extraction of intel in-game.

If it can be done stealthily, even better.

It would be cool but you probably won't get the best of information from ingame things as like twerk said most of that will probably not even be ingame

by Intel, I imagine confirmed things such as being able to see container storage items ect.. that we know need permissions or "powers" to be viewed, it may be that 2 rival merchants go into a turf war in a zone and enlist the use of a merc to gather intel on their competitor to try and get an edge on the market ect .. (just a very simple idea)

Decent cyber warfare capability would be something I'd love to see. What's Sci-fi without some sort of computer based character. That said - you're also dealing with quantum computing and advanced AI's.
