  1. @Traceur Multiboxing is the act of having multiple player accounts ran by a single person. In the literal way, a one man army if you will. Multiboxing is not something that requires support. I mean, I multiboxed 5 mage accounts in WoW for a raid. In this game though, I think you'll need some good keyboard, with macro-keys and a little bit of know-how to create cross-window targeting. May I also add multi-boxing is lame? O.o
  2. @Dominar It's quiet possible you may see color variations, but I can't see outfitting gear not having similarities to one another. Each one different gearset means more time for the server to load such information, this is why games like Planetside 2 have pretty much the same weapon variations, minus color changes and sound effects, so it's less taxing on the server and the player's ram.
  3. @Dominar This is why there's the voxel-building element. Different people make different weapons and ships and gear.

    NPCs

Yes, I know of that, but you got to remember that a place can be over-crowded by players, can you imagine having NPCs taking player's spots in a battle and possibly creatng a heck of a battle? I personally am against this notion. I reckon we will have to see if NPCs could bee deployed as merchants for our goods on a marketplace, or can be actually part of a ship's crew.

    NPCs

The problem is NPCs = take server space. Terminals = take far less space. Just' sayin'.
  6. @Dominar Alien ruins can be sort of dungeons. Having to fight automated defenses and salvage their rustled jimmies after being destroyed. I am just not in favor of playable alien races. It makes no sense lorewise. You are supposed to rebuild the society and technology. If aliens exist... why bother with rebuilding and exploring O.o
  7. @Dominar The point is the game revolves around rebuilding "Human Civilisation". >_> Throws a wrench in the gears when it omes to aliens. It would be Human faction vs EVERYONE. >_> Casual human activity imho >_>
  8. What I'm suggesting mate is a short of "buffs that suit the playstyle". If a guy wants to build in a cave, he might need nightvision and let the game decide your mutation depending on where you choose to linger. Bodies of water = gills, top of the mountains = bettter health I guess, since your lungs are probably made of steel or something. Underground = cat's eye (possibly requiring shades when in daylight). I'm not talking attributes here, attributes are so 2000s to be tots honest. I'm talking ACTUAL side-bonuses that suit the player's needs. That, or a flashlight for caverns. And flashlight sounds lame >_>
  9. If tis' be in my power for them to do as such, then they shalt neigh.
  10. Sometimes I feel hot, but then I realize it's 107 degrees outside.

  11. This post made me think of Independence Day (the "better" movie) when the alien mothership starts detaching smaller saucers off its belly. Could be cool to one day, after building your shrine to your Lord and Savior, the 12 Gage Pump-Action Shotgun, that you see a giant dinner plate in the sky and then you see smaller plates leaving its belly.
  12. How about the TERA online mechanism with arrows? You maintain a lock-on for a while and if you succeed at that, then your missiles hit, then it's all about the enemy to compensate for that. The point is with Lock-On or Tab-targeting mechanics, it comes down to RNG sometimes and stat-grinding. That's my overall concern tbh. Tab-targeting could negate jet-fighters entirelly, since tab-targeting them would mean instant-death froma battleship's cannons. At least someone from the dev team could explain how ground combat will work. Will it be tab-targeting as well with skills and such? Cause I'm tots down for it if the armor you wear will be your access to skills, giving crafting of items a deeper meaning as well. EDIT : Upon researching the matter of aiming and why MMOS can't have first-person shooter combat, I am now backing the idea of Tab-Targeting for a game as Dual Universe. And let's face it, according to the lore, there is WARPING TECHNOLOGY, I don't think that they mastered spatial withdrawal but they failed to upgrade auto-targeting systems and still operate turrets manually. It fits the universe and lore. Plus, if they add a cone of fire element to it and a sweet sweet charge up mechanic for a slow but deadly shot rather than a pew-pew barrage, it can possibly be all about them jukes when you space-joust one another.
  13. That would be trick @yamamushi , cause... you know, Arkships left from Earth... so... yeah, we are Terrans/Earthlings/A-bunch-of-assholes as a species >_> Although, my idea mutated, hence, we could add a sort of "sub-class" system, or in our case sub-species, were you get to find out about how you were infected with an evolutionary mutagen that allows you to adapt to your new planet's ecosystem faster, hence giving you a choice of mutations, minor boosts like night vision (by giving you a sort of cat-eye mutation) or the ability to breathe underwater by developing gills on your skin, which would rock as an idea, given that some players will probably want to build cities underground because they love the Little Mermaid or maybe want fireproof skin, because they don't want to turn into Darth Vader because they slipped off a rock on their volcano hideout. Just sayin', sub-species sounds cooler than "alien blue people" ideas.
  14. What is the point of multiple races in all seriousness? The game's lore points to rebuilding the Terran civilisation (with all its PvP glory). You start in an Arkship from Earth, so I don't see multiple races being viable. ALTHOUGH. I'm tots down for some weird-ass Vault-Tec inspired experiments, turning us into werewolves, vampires, or ferret-human hybrids. Cause THAT would be awkard AND funny if it's randomised.
  15. Gas giants. Methane Gas Giants. And then a guy goes and lights a cigarette and shit goes to hell in a handbascet.
  16. I can imagine building a gate that leads to a planetary gate that its exit point faces down. Perhaps painting the entry gate with crayon, stateting "SAFE FOR USE". That would be hilariously sinister.
  17. @krm398 Tabula Rasa lost its playerbase because Lord Gariottron could not detach his head off of his ass and didn't take hints on creating an MMO for the 21st Century. Just sayin'.
  18. One word, many implications : Littlefinger
  19. What I think of FTL drives, is that hopefully, we can find the worst and most crowded jump points and stand there, waiting for a clusterfuck to happen as ships crash on one another as they exit warp. Grim, but damn hilarious since this is a game.
  20. We pray to our Lord and Savior, the Majestic Space Whale, for such an idea one day to be implemented. But what I think, is to first let the devs lock down how mechanical ships work and function in the game and perhaps in the future allow for biological ships to be ... uhm, built? Tamed? Stiched together? Such ships would take time off the devs hands and I'm pretty sure their hands are already full.
  21. @Tierless "Few PvP Areas?" That DEFEATS the purpose of a single-shard server big time.
  22. I can see fixed orbits being possible in the game, I mean, its essentially coded momentum when your ship stays still. It's not really different than the "breathing" animation in any MMO out there. Given the few things I know of shaders and what Jean-Christopher Baillie said on an interview with the XPGamer on youtube, they have "homemade shaders", which could mean shaders for nighttime, given a planetary rotation AND POSSIBLY a shader definition for when a planet is far from a star on an elliptical orbit. Who knows, if the code can support frigging mech-suits, I don't think it orbits are a no-no.
  23. Well, all the suggestions I read make me think of one thing : Grand Theft Spaceboat.
  24. You should name your mining organisation Ni Hao. If you catch my drift.
