  1. Another 'refresher' here. Not too many times, but twice a day is in order... A bit nervous about numbers (average edge needed per day etc). Someone please tell me: we are going to make it, right?
  2. I envision that at first there will be some random pmlace where people will start joining, that would end up being a major trade hub. This would happen repeatedly during alpha and beta stages and re-built after wipes, as players figure out how to optimize. Once DU goes live, this would be the main hub, for no other reason than history, and because humans have a tendency to create these centers, and expand from them. Not sure how territory ownership would support an independent place other than this being in a safe zone, and if you have a chance, could build there your hangar/house.

  4. Count me in the statistics of those who agree with subscription. Better yet, the model they have already informed about, using some kind of pilot license (the EVE PLEX) adds flexibility. Models like Elite, where you have to almost 'rebuy' the game after each expansion, may be the same amount in a year (I haven´t made the numbers), but doesn't feel great to invest that much money to continue playing the latest version. On the contrary, a lower monthly fee is easier to pay, and EVE has come with expansions regularly.
  5. I started the thread already assuming you won't have to deal with a model even remotely close to KSP. It would more likely break gameplay more than adding value to it. I only assume that because of the teaser the devs have shown us. It would be a different game than that they are showing us. I mean, you don´t want to deal with orbital mechanics in this kind of game, same as you don´t want voxel building in Rogue System. Im just curious about how are things going to work when it comes to placing satellites in "orbit" and a bunch of things only development will bring to attention.

  7. Hi, newbie here. I read through, I think, most of the forum trying to get an idea beyond that we see in the trailer, and have my question at this point: How will star systems work? That is: will planets orbit stars, and moons orbit planets? Will we be able to put a satellite in orbit? Taking into account what that means? From the trailer I am not expecting orbital mechanics here, it doesn´t seem the point of this MMO either, but curious about how such things would work then.
