  1. You are not taking into account the proposed tile defence mechanic that has been mentioned on several occasion by NQ, we dont have specifics but they are saying the connected tiles will offer protection and to attack tiles you will need to own tiles next to them. This is already creating large areas of planets like alioth (around the markets for example) which could well be for all intense an purposes SAFE ZONES (unless attack by a massive enemy). IF they wipe at launch, with pvp live, these zones will not have a chance to build up. Many people have said for some time, NQ are doing what they can to give us a chance to build something. The big challenge is changing the mentality of players who think this is rust, the whole concept of 'wipes' and 'being behind other players' proves that point.
  2. I thought the whole idea of what we are doing now is that new players come into a player made universe, which is already built, and get jobs from orgs and buy ships (not make their own) that was the vision I was sold. I would actually have no issue with new players starting with a chuck of points they can spend, this could even increase at time went on, so new player COULD specialise, but this is not a survival game, this is about build a civilization, it needs this time without pvp to build something that can be protected. There is a lot of work to be done, both by the devs and to change some attitudes in the community, include insular large orgs. Oh and wiping will change nothing, the vets will still be ahead within a few weeks, the big orgs will still be big, the hermits will still be sitting in there holes crying because they are bored and have no stuff. My idea would be - create a launch package which gives new players a pretty big chunk of skill points and money. So they can either focus on a skill or spread their points, they can also buy the stuff they need to get started from the playerbase.
  3. What my organisation of mainly solo players who I work with to build there own micro businesses, selling as wide range of products to markets all around Alioth and other planets? Sorry but people running off into the hills to hide from everyone like a hermit is NOT civilised at all, civilised is talking to people, communicating, making trade, selling services, at the moment you cannot do it in game (it is coming) but it is very possible using Discord and external sites. Some of us are doing it. You can still play totally solo, there any many orgs (dont know why they called them that, they should have called them GROUPS and then had sub categories) come in all types? Some are political, some pvp, some solo focused, some industrial, some that are purely mutual protection and nothing else. I like to think that if I was dropped on another planet with loads of people I would work with them to build something, not go try and solo everything.
  4. Trader..... hauler...... taxi driver....... make a racing team...... build a city or a road system....... hide in the corner of the galaxy and build the death star..... or my personal favourite, a space casion. Unless you play solo and want to do everything yourself, in which case, enjoy your holes and waiting for things to craft.
  5. i do apologies, I mean any quantities, the largest ship I use is the one above, which has one large container and carries 400t max. Which is very usual compared to a lot of players. So when i move ore, it is rarely more than 60km, never off planets and more than a few hundred tons. Thanks for allowing me to clarify. Interesting that was all you got from the post, do you do anything other than pedantic?
  6. I actually completely disagree with your opinion on the state of the markets (economy wise) they are filling up with a variety of products, everyday I am competing with bots less and less and margins are getting tighter an tighter on most products. We sell a wide range of stuff across a wide range of markets (across several markets, on several planets), i visit several every day. Two key things: NQ MUST sort the bloody parking out, get tough with people, make a barren moon and ANYTHING is left at the markets for more than 48 hours is dumped there, DO SOMETHING. It has been a problem for far too long. It screws up new player experience and stops people wanting to use the markets - I wouldnt mind if they were busy, but it is the same crappy ships and poxy advertising EVERY DAY, with the players that are actually using the market dotted around on the grass at some locations New players and orgs should be encouraged to manufacture and sell products, not use the obvious things but a wide range of stuff - we help our players to build there own industry and then enter the markets
  7. I have to say FAIR PLAY for coming on here and giving your side of the story. 100% NQ should not get involved here if this is clearly just a case of org theft. Sorry but the only people who should have access to that level of goods is people you TRUST. Giving someone rights to your org bank is major shit, you gave it to the wrong person. Sorry dood, I feel your pain. 100% that 'pvp should be in the game' but it isnt, and we all know that. Secure your shit! But they knew there was no pvp and they can do nothing to retaliate, sorry that is not an excuse here. This game has extensive RDMS and whilst it might have hole, that is not the problem here.
  8. I dont dig, at all, unless I want to. I dont move ore either, or sell it. I do have lots of funs though......
  9. Today I..... started at our large mining base, had to drop some ore in the bins to get those machines going. Popped to a couple of local org mates to help them with their enterprises. Picked up stock to take to market, stopped made a drop, picked up ore from there and flew it to our ship shop Worked with our ship designer Poljack (pics below!!) to help him finalise a couple of ships we were selling Had another enquiry so flew to our outpost on Sicari, picked up a spare ship there, left Poljack there to customise ship Currently flying from Sicari to our space station to work on our T2-3 production line A bit tired so not sure if I will fly the product down to Ailoth tonight, or do it with a cup of tea in the morning You should get out more, pm me if you want a tour. 100% agree the games has issues, but it shits over any other space sandbox from a great height, even in its current state (for me anyway). It is up to you, if you want to build civilisation or dig holes. My goal in this game is to make billions of quanta and then spend it on making cool stuff that players like you can do, just give us some time.
  10. Sadly your video is not very clear on the placement of your voxels and your images dont work, so difficult to see what you have actually done with the build. It LOOKS like you have placed the voxels far enough away from the engines to not effect them. In which case what you are really showing is an issue with the distance at which voxel effect engines, not that they DONT effect them. Would be great to see a video with more voxel placement and position / testing and a bit less random flying around if possible.
  11. Hit me up, ALWAYS looking for ore / trading partners, we have assets on multiple planets
  12. You know the deal with MMO market stuff, as soon as you let the cat out of the bag, the bastad thing runs off with the bag and you need to do something else.
  13. No, something I mentioned several times in my post.
  14. First rule of Market Club, you dont talk about Market Club 200 tonnes can be a LOT more than 40kl of hema
  15. Not actually true, voxels SHOULD effect element placing and they do show as effecting it within build mode, if you place voxels behind an engine etc it will turn red, which is supposed to show it has reduced output, if you look in your reports when flying the ship you will see that all the elements should have reduced effectiveness due to being blocked. This mean that whilst you ship can function, its performance is greatly reduced. How well this reduction is working in game I couldnt tell you, slightly surprised you didnt show us an image of your actually flight performance, rather than this image, which really doesnt show us much. Trying to work out if this is a post based on actual evidence (that the output reduction is not working) or a knee jerk post from the new player. Here is a test i did, see one engine is covered by voxels and is showing red Here is the readout showing the element is 86% obstructed, which suggests that you conclusion that voxels do not effect element performance might be a little wide of the mark.
  16. Where did you hear that it is was supposed to be one per tile? Didnt realise we had data of the spread of ore per tile.
  17. I have never mined a moon in this game, dont think i ever will, especially not the safe zone ones. Just so you know, all the ore on the proper planets is flowing nicely, huge veins everywhere because the majority of players seem to be scared of pvp which is not going to be in the game for several months.
  18. IMHO still doing it wrong, dont worry most people are..... sadly cant explain, would ruin it for those of us taking a different approach.
  19. There is a good reason why the voxelmancers are the superstars in this game, I dont see many people looking for a 'boxelmancer......' See what I did there
  20. The only person I have ever seen quote it is you though, granted i could have missed it. I didnt even know the document existed until you posted it up lol
  21. Dood that quote is from a PLAYER MADE FAQ document, please stop quoting it like it was from NQ's own content.
  22. You dont do all of your tutorials in one zone, you move between Alioth and Sanc moon, both of these areas are not only used by new players but by normal players, all the time, every day. It is NOT a starting zone (which implies you only use it at the start). Yes there is a known drop in performance in these areas due to the number of assets and it is something the devs know about and are working on but it is BY NO MEANS unplayable for most players. Infact, once cached, I have very few problems at most markets, just slight loading time issues. If you are having something more than this, then YES the issue might be also local to your machine. For example, I had an issue where i would get massive lag spikes and freezes which would last for ages, it turned out to be a conflict with 3d Wallpaper Engine which was running in the background. Several people in this forum have extensive software / gaming dev experience, personally I would not dismiss Blazes comments quite so quickly, he normally talks sense when it comes to stuff like this.
  23. I only ever have to lift around 200t max, got no idea why anyone would want to lift any more tbh If you have to stick 100 l engines and ailerons on a ship to do something, I get the impression the devs didnt want it done that way.
  24. Slightly confused why you think that someone who like aesthetic design is a 'kid', we tend to find that it is peoples love for good looking ships that increases the quantity and value of the ships that we sell. I also like to 'min/max' the amount of quanta in my wallet. Having one of the best designers in the game building ships for my org certainly does that. Having nice buildings also bring recognition to my org and our activities. You would be surprised how many leaders I have spoken to through the quality of our asset design. I am all for quality design, and also for the devs doing everything they can to remove any benefits from having borg cubes / 'exploits to circumvent restrictions'
  25. You will be pleased to know though, I am one of those that is happy to defend them and doesnt mind losing them it and when it happens.
