  1. -Founder and Supporter pack rewards are exclusively for people who back the game before it is released and have barely anything in them. Yes, the Sanctuary TUs and the DACs do have inherent value, but only a relatively small amount would be distributed to the backers compared to what the in-game economy would probably have in a couple of months after release.
            - Supporter packs are exclusively for early backers and will not be available once the game releases
            - All items within the supporter pack are intended to be a "thank you" for backing, and are designed to provide an incentive to support the game

-There will be no pay to win, and no cosmetics, the only thing that will exist is virtual game time coupons that can be bought with IRL money and sold in-game for in-game money, or vise-versa, if you have enough in-game money you can buy one and use it to pay for a month's subscription.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask

  2. Thank you for announcing possible information this time...

I was not acting Immature, but was taking a stance on what you state is possible about The Void Republic. But in reality you would know in the back of your head that TVR doesn't have 66 alts... So why even announce a false claim like that.... I cannot trust you like I used to because of what you stated. Either way, that's all I got for you.

Last I checked you never trusted us, or really anyone aside from you and your org. And Red apologized for his honest mistake, there is no reason to hold a grudge about that anymore.

  3. Hello MasteredRed. I can understand your point of view on the forums and your attitude towards The Void Republic. However, pointing out "false" info to stir up trouble among the forums will be at your fault. You state you aren't accusing a organization of having alts, but you're clearly stating a invalid fact about The Void Republic. Here's some advice... Just because you dislike The Void Republic doesn't mean you try your best to find False negative information. Now, please understand that many organizations are infested with alts. It's not a New problem. The Void Republic however, doesn't have any where close to 66 alts and I am sure we all know that. I also understand when you say Suspected alts they aren't proven in your book. Still, this system or program you're working on is currently not working too well from my opinion.

If you have any questions about Alternate Accounts and which organizations have them, The Community managers already know all of this. They haven't taken any actions, but they're aware. The Void Republic has a very low amount of alts as far as I know. I can't nor anyone else can't control people creating alts. Examples: Spies, Member Boosters, etc.

Thank you for trying to solve the problem, but please keep working on your program.

    1. There was nothing fake in Red's post, he just stated what came out of the program, which in itself outputs probabilities

    2. Spinning negative propaganda about TVR is pretty close to the bottom of the priority list in the DUA

    3. You can control the number of alts in your org, because you run the org and you have to accept member applications

    4. The fact that you think Red's program is meant to target you specifically is quite self-centric. He published this just a moment ago: LINK. Feel free to go look through it to make sure it is non-biased. And the next time you try to say that Red is stating false information about you and your orgs, maybe you should try talking to him first.

    Have a nice day.

    ;)

  4. Normally (every time to my knowledge), the alpha and beta stages are not to "try" the game before the official release. These phases are instead supposed to allow more people and their own unique ways of playing the game to help discover bugs and imbalances in the game, hence the term "beta tester" and "alpha tester".

  5. This is coming from a guy who joined yesterday with only two forum posts.   LOL.  Looks to me like it's probably someone from another org who might be a bit jelly.

    Who cares anyway?

Yeah, but at least this guy has an actual forum account and is actively contributing to the community. And I don't think anyone is jealous of faux accounts.

Also, the people who care are the people who want legitimate organizations that don't create fake accounts to look bigger and better than others.

    Just saying.

  6.  Why do people care about organisations so much? It not even a year before open tests. Many of players will not even start play, nearly sure... What will be changed if there would be 1000 members? Nothing...

Maybe that is a way to get alpha access, but... NQ must see IP or some other info about this...

I think the main problem here is the suspicion that these members are faked in order to make BOO look bigger and more powerful to an outsider.

@Rmhenn I think you made a double paste so it was a bit confusing, but I think I got your point.

Your point is valid on the premises that you could actually rent an already existing star system. Which would indeed be a flawed design.

I will not get into the details here, I think it's up for the developers to make it in a proper manner.

As for your scenario, it's more a story about having a player turtling on his private space, which is no different from having a prey that you lost track of because he jumped in hyperspace somewhere.

There also can exist limitations actually involving gameplay. For example to change a rule you must obtain the votes from all members, with a 48h countdown, which creates an awesome galactic vote. So you cannot shield yourself on a single click if you are in danger.

From what you thought to be a liability (changing rules) I found more incentive if done well.

But it's not about technical details here, it's about architecture.

But you yourself said that this would be in the style of rust and would grant the players who rented the systems special rights and rules, having people who did not buy it control the "administrative rights" through a vote would get nothing administrative done and would waste time.

Also, in my scenario, BobCorp's members consisted of only bob and his friends, so they still would have voted yes.

(I do apologize for the double pasting so I put in some lines in case it happens again)

  8. NQ did not say definitely that they are going to stick on that. They said that they had their decision made after a meeting and an evaluation of pros and cons. I did read it all entirely. It appeared to me that the decision was still pending for feedback, and because we are said to give feedback anyway, let's try to be constructive at it.

It seems to me that proposing renting of universe space for communities, in a model similar to server renting (with no server, got it?) is not only a commonly accepted and welcomed practice for gamers, it is also a successful business model, that can earn you millions of income per year as I explained previously. I see no obstacle for this to happen in DU, it can be properly made.

    Alright, lets start this off,

This is not a good idea,

"Why?" you may ask, and I shall explain it to you.

The renting of universe space will be extremely harmful to the game for multiple reasons. First, lets start with a hypothetical. The egotistical rich mommy's boy Bob decides to start an organization, lets call it "BobCorp" for the time being. One day, Michael from the much larger "Mike Inc." decides that he wants declare war on BobCorp. Bob, being Bob, decides that he is not having it and goes to NovaQuark and "rents" his system. Now as you said in a previous post:

    ...

The goal is to permit players to rent their own space WITHIN the single shard universe, not on another server. For example to be allowed to rent a star system. Instead this solar system is administered by players who actually pay for this service, with their own rules and restrictions. Implementation should make it smooth for other players so that if it's a private rented space, you will simply not see it or things like that, all the details are not important here.

    ...

The bit that I am focusing on is this bit:

...administered by players who actually pay for this service, with their own rules and restrictions.

So, Bob, after buying his system, decides to exercise his ADMINISTRATIVE RIGHTS, and bans all of Mike Incs members from his system, now Mike and his minions cannot attack bob's system and bob continues on being a carebear. Mike responds buy enclosing all of Bob's territory like a warmongering amoeba. Bob, after seeing this becomes FURIOUS AND SPILLS HIS SPECIAL HOT CHOCOLATE THAT HIS MUMMY MADE HIM. He goes back to NovaQuark and rents out ALL of Mike Inc's systems and bans everyone except for him and some of his sniveling friends and they go through Mike Inc's systems, pillaging and looting everything while all mike can do is watch as his months worth of work burn in front of him, afterwards, Bob, having taken everything and destroyed all of Mike's work, waits for the month to end and cancels his renting of Mike's systems, because he is happy having his one system, and for his safety bans everyone except for him and his cronies from entering.

    THE END.

See how your plan could be used in the most ultimate form of Pay to Win?

    Cheers!

  9. Seems to be a lot of discussion here about code, but I haven't seen any discussion about C#. I'm no code expert with any degrees but I would like to know if it would be possible to use C# as well as LUA to code scripts in the game(also due to its similarity with C++). also, considering it is quite similar to java it would be quite easy for people who know java to learn C#(that's how I learned it). Just posting my thoughts though.

  10. Good point, but what I was thinking is that there could be a privilege system to make sure nobody steals your motor while you are planetside (fairly sure the devs are already working on something like that).

  11. This cryopod style logoff mechanism is quite interesting, but what if they also functioned as escape pods? So if they (the player) logs off and the ship is destroyed, the escape pod ejects and has the possibility to get away.

Something else I thought of that adds on to the escape pod idea is that when the player logs back in, he gets a menu or something that says who destroyed the ship (possibly even show a replay like CS:GO). A way for smaller ships to have an eject feature could be the cockpit detaching.

This might be a bit too OP though considering that an auto eject feature might keep you from ever dying and taking away a sense of mortalilty (and some people might take advantage and create escape pod capturing ships that actively capture people while they are offline).

    Just my thoughts though.

  12. I believe Gas giants could open up a very interesting aspect to planetary gameplay, a planet where one cannot hide from sight and radar underground. Where you can experience the extreme buoyancy as you go further down that at some point requires force to go down instead of up.

you could also make a floating city like bespin from star wars

  13. Very interesting, gas harvesting in general would be very useful more quite a few different reasons.

    1. considering most gas giants contain significant amounts of hydrogen harvesting could be used as a source of energy (fusion).

    2. gases could be used to create multitudes of things (as OP said) like water (back to the hydrogen idea).

    3. could POTENTIALLY  gather up unfathomable amounts in order to create a star (because why the hell not).

    4. any other crackpot idea I haven't thought of yet

not quite sure of the validity or probability of my ideas (especially #3) but those are my thoughts.
