Tried all of them. They annoyed me. So I turned them off again ...

As you say, if they would at least do something, and without the annoying sound.

If they don't do even one of scan, gather, grow and develop, lay eggs or produce usable poop (like NMS pets on the pet roster do) then they are basically a waste of developer time when there are so many actually necessary things that still need doing.

Like, say an actual non modal UI so that I can use more than 10% of my 49 inch screen real estate efficiently.

  2. Why on earth would NQ set an exact 24 HOUR TIMER for recalibrations and not allow skills to reduce the time other than to hurt the players of their game?

EVERY SINGLE DAY I'M HAVING TO STAY UP LATER AND LATER TO CALIBRATE MY MEAGRE T2 MINING UNITS....

Because on day 1 I set my mining units at 9:20pm after i finished work IRL and the next day, I wasn't able to set them until AFTER 9:20.

As it happened, it was about 9:30 by the time I finished calibrating them.

The next day, a client phoned me just before I could calibrate them and ended up calibrating them at 10:15...

Now the next day, I was unable to calibrate them until 10:15 finishing at about 10:30

The day before yesterday, I went out for a drink and got back at gone 11pm. Now last night I was unable to calibrate them before midnight. So I had to skip calibration until Saturday afternoon at 12;30pm...

I've used Hanlon's razor so much this last two years that the blade is duller than a taxman's suit. To the point where I could easily believe NQ chose 24 hour cooldown SPECIFICALLY TO IMPEDE their PLAYERS and INTERFERE with their PLAYSTYLE. There is no other reason why a GAME DESIGNER would PURPOSEFULLY choose such a PLAYER HOSTILE cooldown.

This means that once a week I am effectively either losing sleep or losing a day of calibrations.

Thanks for willfully and purposefully making your game a POORER EXPERIENCE at EVERY OPORTUNITY you get.

    Wearily yours,

       Jinx.

I got a pet but I’m a bit disappointed in the look I think they look lame and like it was slapped two gether  but I like the outfits  well some of them

    “two” = number 2

“to” is the spelling you’re looking for.

yes, I’m not a professional but I could have knocked-up the small one in Blender in quarter of an hour.

    quite disappointing.

now imagine if you checked a box on their menu and then they helped you surface scavenge by gathering the same type of whatever material you were currently harvesting. They could start at the annoying small volume rocks in the pile.

It would still have been nice if I was notified or even knew about it.

    Doesn't really matter.

And no, I won't be going there, because there is nothing to see (EXPLORE) there or anywhere, anyway ...

three of NovaX’s constructs are used in their ship/ construct museums without a single notification or even attribution. In fact additionally one of our member’s constructs was was sold to a customer, rebranded and rebranded version is also in the museum. So you could say we had four of our constructs used.

it is what it is. When you upload a picture to Facebook and post it to a page you expressly give them permission to use it as they see fit. (It’s in the EULA) And you will find your photo being used to train random AIs throughout the world. when you design a ship or a piece of LUA code on DU it becomes theirs (which makes me wonder about open source licensing of uploaded LUA code, now that I come to think of it).

We were kind of encouraged to see so many of our tiny org’s constructs being selected my NQ from among all the amazing things players have made, but of course we would’ve liked to have seen a little signpost out the front with the creators name and a Org on it.

this goes for every construct. There were so many constructs at the museums that I wanted to follow up but of which I have no idea who the creator was.

I just visited DU Discord. What a CircleJerk that space is ... seems only the 10 or so players left (all PVPers of course) and the 2 NQ devs left there and all praising everything and talking as if everything was stellar .... echo chamber ...

wow, what the hell happened? did they do a purge of "undesirable elements" or something? Last week the Discord was a total Saxa and they had to implement a timer to reduce the vitriol.

Hearing the tone and the words used when it was announced on a stream that a cash shop is in the works I'd say they're paying attention to the forums.  I've still got the majority of my pre-paid year for them to win me back and that's the most generosity (or money) they'll get out of me without tangible, objective improvements.

Still, if it actually required player input for them to consider delivering a cash shop, then this game is in a worse financial position than I imagined.

  7. I’m afraid I can’t agree with the OP.
removing players from the main game strikes me as counter productive.

but a build client environment with Core BP export to the main game I could live with, however NQ have straight out said this is not going to happen.  Builds happen in game. The end.

I have two VR headsets and would love it but the performance is no where near adequate for a barf-free experience.

    IMO I would rather have

    1) PVE by way of NPCs. I.e. The three Ps… Piñatas (NPC loaded trading vessels), Pirates (NPC hunters targeting players) and Police (NPCs that turn up at reported crimes and respond to bounties).

    2) in atmosphere PVP including air to ground and ground to air. With terrain occlusion (ie no targeting or shooting through  asteroids or mountains.)

but programming is not NQs strong suit so I doubt it will ever come to pass.

IMHO, two changed alone would spice the game up no end.

but you see ten replies to this thread would likely have 10 different opinions as to “how to save the game”

and since NQ have closed the Ideas thread it’s clear they have no intention of starting to listen to us going forward.

now all we can do is wait for NQ to do whatever they feel like.

The regular replace element (RMB->Advanced->Replace) also recycles the replaced element. Nothing in the UI prompts tells you that, but it does happen.

Awesome, I'll try it out the next time my Albatross HUD lags the fk out and I tank my ship into a Thades cliff at 700kph... ahem....

I just repaired a crashed ship using replace with recycle. Two clicks for each element was a bit annoying but not nearly as bad as holding down the the LMB for 10 minutes per element to repair them. And I was able to sell some parts to help with the cost. It's certainly an adequate first implementation.

so there IS a replace and recycle function in the game?

It would indeed be ridiculously annoying after a total MP6 wipeout if you had to manually replace broken parts in a build and then manually recycle each item, one at a time.

there’s no way NQ would implement something as half-arsed as that, surely, after months of waiting for any new features to emerge.

will check the recycle tool when I next play.

Are you per chance running Windows 11 and did an update recently? I have noticed since launch that the client seems more demanding, I have no evidence, just a gut feeling. It's also sometimes extremely lagy, no matter if I run it on an extremely low powered client or a somewhat more capable client. When I log off and log on again it's often just gone.

For me it’s in-game tools like Albatross aHid that show this kind of degradation.

I have a fairly top end rig : RTX3080 5900x 64GB DDR4 etc.  but albatross hud slows to a crawl (literally single digit FPS) after an hour or so. I have to log out and restart the client multiple times a day to recover the performance.

  11. This game is a constant struggle to make ends meet. If you want to partake of anything you have to put in a decent amount of EFFORT.

I was under the impression this was supposed to be a game.

Orders for T2 parts has dried up on Thades as the few people living here complete their factories and now we’re stuck for income.

  12. Speaking of death of ore market, has anyone had issues trying to sell ore?

\I often have a situation where even though I have 10k of Txxx ore in my ACTIVE container I am unable to create a sell order. The "amount" shows zero.

This game has sapped my confidence. I no longer know whether NQ are being NQ or I'm having a stroke and am doing something wrong.

This game is like the C++ version of Gaslighting.

  13. Playing this game since first alpha is like being that jaded barman who watches all the fresh young ladies turn up at the bar giddy with hope of finding their “man”…

Five Jack Daniels and Rufie later and he knows exactly how their “romance” is going to end.

So he sighs and just polishes another glass, trying to turn a blind eye to the emotional carnage and heartache.

I think you are missing carriers. Now it is sufficient to stack alts with packages on a ship. With your mechanics you would need to stack ships on a ship. That's bit more complicate but not enough to prevent exploits.

Maybe another solution would be changing the mission design. With a suitable time limit and several randomized pickup- and delivery locations in a row it would be almost impossible to stack missions.

    Carriers? I’m not following?
