Any chance we can expect more regular updates of the raw data? I recently completed work on the majority of the back-end of my website and have started creating a system to allow people to grab specific data from the data set without setting up their own database server and dealing with updating and importing the data. The plan is to make this a publicly available tool but i don't want to fully announce it until i get regularly updated data and so far have been unsuccessful creating my own scraper so I must rely on other sources for the raw data.

That would be amazing. I assume its the exported table(s) and can we also expect this to be updated with the normal data or will this be updated less often?

Being able to pull the raw data from your site would be great. The code behind it is of no real importance just the data is all I'm really interested in. How i get it and where make no difference to me so long as its not like 3 weeks old and is accurate. With the player and organizational data alone it would make some of my planned program features a lot easier and faster to develop since it would mean not having to write a program to parse HTML source for the data (which i have been working on and is proving to be quite difficult).

I use C# and would love to be able to use data from some of these tools as they appear to create applications to make life easier for organization leaders and just normal players. Right now I'm working on a program that will scan an organization's players to make sure they aren't in a organization that is blacklisted. I also have other organizational administration tools planned for the future and a lot of what i have planned would be made a lot easier if this data was easily accessible. Most of my tools are planned for Windows desktop and in the future some tools may be web based on my organization website.

While only allowing backers to create organizations is a good idea I believe it might cause some negative affects on new people looking at maybe pledging. I am not pledged yet because I do not know fully what to expect yet. I would like to get into alpha but over $120(USD) is too much for me to spend on a game that has no real game play video beyond the basic videos released by developers. There is also the issue of already created organizations by non-pledged players. What will happen to us? Will we be punished because others abused it or will it be handled on a case by case basis as other artificially inflated organizations appear and are discovered? Perhaps another solution would be to "tag" accounts that all log in from the same IP addresses....have an automatic checking system that just checks the database for last used IPs and check how many IPs are the same so if you have say 5 or 10 accounts being accessed from the same IP maybe flag them and their owned organizations for review. This could at least cut down work by having the program check and flag automatically so IP checking doesn't have to be done manually for say 50 accounts. I don't know how that part is done for DU's setup so it could be easier than the forum on my organization's website in which case that might not be very helpful. edit: Perhaps maybe requiring a bit of activity on forums be a requirement to create an organization? Make it require X posts on Y different threads for non-pledged members to join or create an organization. This way it will require the account to actually do stuff making artificially inflating numbers require more work and effort especially for larger numbers.

I think something similar to EVE Online's courier system might be a good way....the hauler puts up a collateral say 75% to 110% or so the value of the cargo. upon accepting the money is taken from their wallet. upon delivery the collateral is returned and the reward is given automatically. in the event the hauler fails the collateral goes to the person who created the quest/contract and the items stay with the hauler or whoever has them in the event they were stolen

They begin to evacuate and helpless escape pods are flying everywhere trying to avoid being killed. What do you do? Do you fire on the helpless escape pods or do you open fire killing everything in sight showing no mercy?

That would be because Halo is a lot better than Star Wars. at least in Halo everything is a bit more unique and not just spheres and triangles

I plan to start a corporate military that will take contracts to help fight wars and make money in the process. So my play style will be military leadership.

I am looking at the physical beta package but upping it to cheapest digital alpha package would really require some user video and not developer video on alpha before i could justify spending over $120 on a game. Just wish i could get alpha without paying $120

It is extremely unlikely that they would actually be followed. Every organization will most likely have its own rules of engagement that will be followed completely ignoring and community rules. The only way to actually enforce it would be to have a large enough organization who wants to act as a police force and even then they would most likely see heavy resistance from other organizations.
