"Well said. You could keep an official HQ that friends and foes know about and build some generic building that houses all the secret operations. You may even go further and build a conspicuous "secret Headquarter" building somewhere remote/centralises/ lightly/heavily secured while the real one might just be a simple bungalow at plain view with four sub-Terran floors."

"In the long run, the months-long trips may be shortened to mere days or even minutes. Although, that might take several extension packs down Dual Universe's life line. Not to mention, as the game progresses, so will the technology. Star-gates are not a bad idea, quite the opposite, they are important and needful. I have no idea how the extension packs may come in the future, even less what they might contain. But suffice, it to say that until we reach the level of incredibly fast travel in Dual Universe, Star-gates are the best options for celerity. "

"Instant godlike knowledge-I like that term--would be great and the only option for small organisations or alliances that have control over a planet; or for alliances/organisations that are yet to properly cement their hold on the planet. The other option of multiple (plethora as you put it) would be great for keeping your eyes in space. All in all, having a handful of smart central processors is better than relying solely on just one. If your godlike knowledge sensor is "mortalised", you'll be fighting blind. However, if there are multiple central systems, each coordinating a group, you'll have a few left, even if one kicks the bucket." -

"Well, aesthetics are judged personally and differ from individual to individual. I have no right to tell you this or that ship is ugly and thus, demand that you stop producing it. However, we have the right of freedom of expression (of opinion, in this case). If gustavoultra looks at that ship and says: "That's ugly.", it's his personal opinion. You or I may come along and say: "That's a beauty.", it's our individual personal opinion. It's one of the many reasons I support the fact that there should be a variety shipbuilders in Dual Universe. There are many brands of products (gadgets, vehicles, appliances) and a lot of people choose one over the other simply because the aesthetics of one repels them and they judge the other beautiful. Function has its importance and so does aesthetics. As long as gustavoultra doesn't insult of try to enforce his opinion on others, he's free to express his own opinion. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. "

"Yes, indeed. They will also need cargo ships to haul all the materials for building capital ships. In the long run, some people might need transport ships to ferry smaller crafts around a growing Universe. Finally, some people might need a Death Star as a deterrence or weapon. " -

" I think gustovultra's fear is that Dual Universe will be overrun by ugly ships. Be rest assured, gustovoultra: that will not happen. Perhaps when space travel is its infancy, we may see some ship builders build ugly ships that were made just for getting to space. But, as water flows under the bridge, most of them will improve both the aesthetics and functionalities of their ships. Feel free to find out more on the forums, though. There are plenty of ship builders around."
