I have opposite view. Less intervention from NQ on the game market is better for long term play. Right now, after wipe, most of potential suppliers are focused on rebuilding their factories and chaines of supplies. So those who don't want to build their own factories, can only wait (or build them ofc). Be patient. Bots are simple but very lazy solution and we shouldn't ask for lazy solutions.

You can switch to the mobile view on the PC by clicking change theme in the very bottom left corner. This may help? It's the only other template available to choose from.

If mass mining is for players who are sick of mining then dont mine, do something else.

If there is no real benefit to mass mining over manual mining, then why include it at all?

How would mass mining work in practice? A machine that tunnels? That wont work because veins will not be straight lines (I think).

Again if you think manual mining is boring, do something else.
JC explained that there wont be mining ships. For economical reasons and social reasons. You can suggest whatever you want but a productive idea is proposing something that works within the rules of the game.

If you disagree with a feature then you need to get familiar with the available information and make a case for why your idea is better.

Your own guns, or those of a mercenary company you hire, or those of others in your organisation who are there to protect the build site. And potentially, depending on how they work, Territory Units, which are used to claim land. It's unknown whether they will prevent disallowed people from entering the territory or if it's simply an alarm that goes off. You can also build protective bubbles similar to the safe zone around the Arkship; however this will require extensive resources.

I tried to make sure a similar topic wasn't already posted, but I didn't have time to look through every post on this forum or any other.
Many may think this idea is crazy or stupid, but I think that not having construct vs. construct at release may overall help gameplay. My reasoning for this has to do with getting settlements and cities built by multiple factions early on without one group coming and destroying everything. I could easily see one large organization being able to put the time and resources to building a massive mobile weapon platform before doing anything else while most others start by focusing on establishing some sort of base of operations. If this were to happen, then that destructive organization could easily find any settlement fairly quickly, as we will likely be locked to one planet for the early stages of the game. Using their weapon, that one organization could steal any valuable resources, and defend the most valuable resources in order to prevent other organizations for growing. This would force others to either join the ruling organization or quit playing, as there is nothing they could do without the resources to build anything of worth.
    Any other thoughts on this?

There's probably going to be some kind of environmental sound effects or ambiance.   We can all agree on that right?

So the problem is this is a building game.  So an area that might have been a dense wooded area with fog and crickets might later become the middle of someone's stark white labratory or cozy livingroom.  This is something that they never solved in Landmark.  One of the things that drove me nuts in Landmark was ending up with the border between two different environmental areas in the middle of your build.  It would basically ruin an otherwise perfect spot for a project.

I think it would be excellent for them to give us ways to control any environmental ambiance or sound effects.  Even background music.

Eventually.  Not exactly a top priority.

Indeed, they might be. But, it has already been stated by a lead developer that planet-destroying weapons will not be present in the game. While no doubt super awesome, such a weapon would be just too powerful, and would have too great a chance to ruin the game for other people. Imagine players pouring countless hours of time and effort into the creation of a planet covered in a few large cities, only to see the entire world obliterated by the Interstellar Legion of Trolls. It would be a huge deterrent to builders if their work could be rendered non-existent and irrecoverable in a single moment. Thus, the maximum power of weapons will be intentionally limited within the game, to ensure everyone stays equally happy.

From what I've gathered, the main way of travelling between systems will be through stargates similarly to EVE, except here they will be player made.

Now I was wondering what would be the benefit for an organisation to build a stargate if anyone can use it after being constructed ? Will stargates be player controlled, or will they just become neutral entities once built ? And will they be destructible ?

Having them player controlled would open up a number of gameplay possibilities such as taking over stargates, setting up tolls, limiting the use of the gate for enemies of the controlling corp, or if you're banned from using a gate, hacking into it to be able to use it... Of course even if the gates will be neutral, gameplay like that can arise, you just have to camp one side or the other with ships or a station.

Moreover having destructible stargates would open up a lot of options for warfare, making it possible for a defender to slow an enemy down by destroying stargates on their path, as well as to allow an attacker to destroy gates between enemy systems to hinder their movements (that would be similar to blowing up bridges/railroads behind enemy lines to prevent reinforcement of the front line), or between enemy systems and the outside world to destroy their trade with the rest of the galaxy.

Finally, having an evolving landscape of routes between places, would alongside spicing trading up a bit, give some use to the mechanic that has been mentioned several time of travelling between systems using FTL engines. They mentioned that the trip would last around a week, and you would need a very well built and expensive ship, so if stargates become public and indestructible after construction, the only use of this would be to travel to systems outside the network of gates. However, if some of the aforementioned mechanics are implemented, you might have a much better reason to do such a trip, for example to smuggle goods into an embargoed system or to make a strategic attack deep into enemy territory if you can't break through their stargate's defenses.

What do you think ? Should stargates be neutral, or should they be player controlled ? And should they be destuctible ?

The point is talking to someone you are close at or come across with, TS wouldn't give you that feature, and the spammers can get reported. Anyway, I think the orgs masters only should have the right to use city-speakers to inform the population.

In one of the other videos when they go inside the large space station you can see some of the decorative (mesh) elements used to create the interior corridors.  So if you want you'll be able to simply plop down an element to decorate a corridor.

But also if you were to build/decorate a corridor yourself out of voxels like in the video you could save a portion of it (make your own preset) and copy/paste it to speed things up.

All the textures and lighting look amazing already.  Damn i can't wait to play with those voxels.

    So many questions though.

I wonder how Gravity will work off of planets on asteroids or space stations?

How much movement will there be in a solar system.  Will things like that asteroid be spinning or orbiting a planet eventually?

Will planets rotate and orbit their sun?
