  1. For some random ideas for PvE content! Taking over Alien tiles and protecting them! No monetary taxes. Just defend against aliens to maintain the tile. Or get alien PvE drops to maintain the anti-alien field! Don't have to worry as much for balancing if it's PvE!
  2. I'd say the testing if builds are feasible sounds actually pretty fun. To do and to watch. Kinda like testing how well (or poorly) some builds do. Kinda like Tears of the Kingdom. Like what if someone tests if a "barney the dino" build is effective?
  3. Certainly will allow more players to enter combat to make clips. Also have dumb builds take on NPCs like in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
  4. If the wipe is to happen, what if we made the current beta areas a lost civilization? An apocalypse event! All the old areas would have mining units and industry disabled and be considered an exploration area. Aliens or arkship explodes or something. Any current constructs there would be in read-only mode. Any new ships that scan (identify) the old constructs would get some kind of benefit. Maybe credits or talent points. Amount could be based on rarity/cost of elements/voxels, number/credit value of player missions where it's a destination or origin, or traffic? So this would become exploration gameplay! If current beta players understood this, then their works get to be immortalized and be an everlasting mark in DU. They will build many great things. There would be tourist cruises and routes that allow experienced players to bring new players to just scan a bunch of the old areas in cruise ships. You only get money/talents points one time though. Then every new player that visits will wonder. "What's the story behind this place?" There would be discussions and new youtube videos based on this. Old beta players would become sources of information based on the history of the tourist sites. Any thoughts on this idea?
  5. The lack of a clear choice on wipe/no-wipe is hurting more than any actual confirmed choice. But they still need the beta to go on because they need to test and release more stuff. If they declare wipe then people stop really investing time in their projects and content creating until wipe/launch happens. Makes it hard to test newer features. Also all the negatives of that wipe. If they declare no wipe you still got a mess of forgotten projects and people unhappy and unwilling to rejoin back in. Other people have made their points before... but NQ needs to make a choice so the player base can make their choice.
  6. Yeah... they really underestimate how a solo player can make interesting content. Can't make interesting sites. The culture of several prominent places will be abandoned. I already have the foundations of a city yet to be built. Worked on making a logistics network to transport ore (myself). Making an in progress Alioth ring of like 10 L cores space station that I constantly have player missions. Have a separate space station outpost to support remote space rock mining missions. Also I have several missions supporting that station. So yeah... if you wreck the solo builders, you'll hurt the amount of player missions as well. Solo builders, especially good ones, love using player missions. Decreasing solo player core counts will harm player hauler missions!
  7. If 1 million per week per tile then -> Ore supply is going way down + Quanta supply is going to become a puddle -> No more ships being produced because no money exists to buy them PvPers aren't going to be happy because targets won't exist anymore I really don't like PvP here... but this makes me feel bad for players who do. The main issue is that this is going to cause a massive decrease in ore produced. This will also destroy the money supply at a far greater rate than the npc missions could ever counter-act at current mission payouts. The money sink is way too large! Even if large corporations wanted to pay their members, no more quanta will exist to actually pay them. Production of goods is going to stall because no quanta exists to buy goods and everyone will save up for schematics... which will destroy even more money. Without either increasing ore supply with more asteroid rocks or multiplying the npc mission rewards by 10x, this is going to cause the post-schematic market crash.
  8. Maybe also put an "asteroid report" in an (email) newsletter so everyone will get prepped/hyped? Something like... Safe Zone Asteroids: 20 T1 - average size 750m 10 T2 - average size 500m 5 T3 - average size 600m 4 T4 - average size 500m 2 T5 - average size 1000m
  9. One way to improve upon the schematic system is to switch the cost for schematics from pure quanta to T1 schematic quanta price + part-specific-research tokens to increase feature points cap on the schematic. T1 - 1000 feature point cap T2 - 2000 feature point cap T3 - 3000 feature point cap etc... Spend item specific research tokens to do stuff like the following Increase feature point cap 10^(2 + number of previous cap increases) Medium wings to increase point cap Produce faster 100 S-cores for making s-cores 5% faster (100 feature points per stack, limit 5) Increase size of item (Not everything but some of them maybe?) 100 xs-wings to make S-wing schematic (500 feature points for S-size, 1000 feature points for M size, 1500 for L-size) Produce with less materials (200 feature points per stack) 100 Container M to produce them with 5% reduced materials Improve aspects of the actual item produced (T50, power, weight, durability, brightness) 100 Large Atmo engines to decrease the warmup time by 5% You can fiddle around with numbers a bit but this would be a general idea. What does everyone think?
