Okay, so single player can maintain around 40 MUs simultaniously, but only 25 construct slots?
So I can't even use the full potantial of my account, that sounds bad for me.

I just want to say, thank you NQ for the continued  stream of information.

    EDIT

As a ship builder, I like to have examples of my ships next to the BP dispenser  so that a potential customer  can examine  the ship. As a solo player with no alts, this change will make that impossible.

Under JC you guys said there would be no hard wipe, at worst there would be a soft wipe to refresh planets and we would have magic blueprints that build our constructs back. Since then, your team has proven you can do a terrain wipe without wiping constructs and enhance visuals/landscape at the same time.

Given that, there should be no plans for a wipe, especially given every player's financial investment and hundreds of hours of gameplay at this point in time, correct? Players should know as that would dictate what we do in the game and how much effort we apply accordingly.

    Thank you.

Demeter, our sixth major update of the year, was published today. And when we say “major”, we mean really, really super big game-changing major.

    Demeter’s finest features include:
Terrain Update - The many changes and new features in Demeter came hand-in-hand with the integration of new tech for voxels on planets called hexoctree, which helps with data storage and performance. Watch the Inside Novaquark: Demeter Edition vlog to get a closer look at what it can do.  Mining Optimization - With the release of Demeter, we have decided to do away with the tedium of manual mining for resource gathering. Players may still wish to do some fancy terraforming to shape their territories to their taste, but they no longer need to do bowl-of-spaghetti-like tunneling. The mining units introduced in Demeter changed the dynamic by fully automating mining operations through the use of mining units that can pull from infinite pools of resources. You’ll also score an adjacency bonus for running mining units on your adjoining territories. Get the full scoop in the Mining Units 101 devblog.  Territory Management - Changes to territory management provide more balanced land ownership, with territories now requiring the payment of weekly taxes. Unless it is marked as headquarters, the territory goes into an abandoned state when taxes go unpaid for a period of time, allowing for the requisition of static constructs deserted by the previous owner. This presents lucrative salvaging opportunities for cunning players who seek them out. The Territory Upkeep devblog will give you more details on claiming territory, declaring your headquarters, and how to score cast-off constructs.    Visual Improvements - We’ve made significant improvements to the biomes of some planets. With Demeter, the biomes of both Jago and Teoma received impressive makeovers with new flora, fauna, and even a covering of snow in some locations. The addition of ambient effects, such as butterflies, provides lovely, ambient touches that breathe life into Helios.
Important note: The territory changes include a geometry reset that will remove underground tunnels. Subterranean constructs will still be there but will be encased. Players may choose to excavate their constructs themselves or may contact Support for assistance. See Prepping for the Geo Reset for more information.

A full list of the improvements and changes in Demeter is available here. If visuals are more your thing, this video will show you the major additions to this new release.

    Hi Noveans,
Thanks for the warm welcome! Since I've joined I've been amazed by the incredible job the Novaquark team is doing, working hard on delivering the dream of Dual Universe. I’m also very impressed by how you, our community, have been supporting the DU project from day one. Let's all keep moving forward together!
    Cheers,

While I don't disagree with the changes to Airbrakes, can you explain why Demeter is the time to implement this? A time where we are all already experiencing a game changing shift in the way we will play Dual Universe, with entire systems being implemented and changed, why would adding an previously un-announced change that will go and cause the majority of constructs to not function properly, be something you thought should be included with Demeter?

marxman-1 reacted to Hagbard in Demeter will probably Kill the game if it goes to live servers..
Ok, usually i am not negative but the balance of Demeter on the PTS server has some severe problems.

    1. Territory costs of 1m per week:
this will lead to almost nobody claiming any tiles any more outside of the sanc moon unless the territory can produce some serious income. so all "player made content" will disappear after some time

    2. Scanning results do not get deleted and show l/h for mining units
this will lead to ALL really valuable tiles being claimed within the first 24h after demeter goes live, as it is really easy to identify  the most powerful tiles for mining units if you have containers full with scanner results.
so after day 1, the fun is over and the "mega tiles" will be claimed by those players/orgs that have all the existing scans.

NQ, as demeter is balanced on the PTS, it would kill the game if it goes to the live server

    - New players some days later would not have a chance to find income opportunities despite missions.
    - earning quanta will be a lot harder, so people would stop spending.. this would kill industrialists workflow.
    - the imbalance between experienced players/orgs and new players would get worse and even more players would demand a wipe or simply not enjoy the game

    please reconsider your decisions.

    Hagbard.

As stated in the video showcasing the Demeter update a talent point reset or some kind of reimbursement may be on the table for us.

Some players may never mine again due to auto mining and some of the talents like scanning range really don't have a place in the game after Demeter.

They stated that if enough players wanted this it may happen, then they would consider it.

I for one am for a talent refund, what do you all think?

If there is a wipe, the most active and organised groups will be the ones to profit most from it because they will recover the most quickly due to better organisation multiplying out more collective hours spent playing.  And within a few weeks everyone will be complaining that Legion won DU again

Regarding the (endless) wipe discussion. The main thing that breaks the economy and creates the slow markets is that there is no destruction: players only ever have to buy each element once, unless they do PVP. Bring back the breaking of elements for crashes and the economy becomes healthy overnight.

I would not have a problem with a wipe if this would have been clear from the start (like during Alpha). But it was heavily suggested over the last year it would not happen. If I fully loose the year of daily time investment in my factory I would probably not have the motivation to start anew.

SInce the dawn of time, stowaways have been a staple of history. If someone is able to infiltrate a ship, they should be able to.
