  1. Just a thought - communicating basic combat commands in languages dissimilar to English may well throw off anyone happening to listen in. You could really have an advantage there.
  2. Now trade, I understand that. Resources need transporting; less transport costs less. Trade will inevitably spring up around dedicated spaceports, much like real harbours. Just don't expect any order to residential zones - remember, everybody wants that three-storey mansion, and in a sandbox game, everybody can have it.
  3. In a virtual world, the placement of buildings and shops is restricted only by the time it takes to get there, not human fatigue, and even this could be circumvented if the game uses teleporting facilities. Expect cities to spread wherever they want, whenever they want. After all, no player would restrict themselves to a flat in a skyscraper unless they're really pushed for funds and resources. There is no ideal order when it comes to the urban sprawl.
  4. Question here, will the game include technology to set a position for orbit automatically for the new players, or will we have to experiment?
  5. To be fair, the DU universe contains humans from the cultures of this world, so the Hello Kitty branding would be feasible - albeit practically ancient, given the timeframe.
  6. I have to say, I've never seen an organisation quite like this. I hope you can fill that niche in the market, Guardian.
  7. Believe me when I say I have no faith in the internet to do that.
  8. I think NQ isn't going to be very lenient with any irl politics, let alone f***ing nazis, if the forum is anything to go by.
  9. This universe has a defined centre - the spawn. Closer to the centre means more influence over new players. I'd say that's a useful asset.
  10. Yes, maybe, but where would we be without all these puns?
  11. For this, I envision a system in which a special functional voxel is used to join two structures together when powered. If the power fails, e.g. in the event of a ship attack, or is switched off manually, the structures detach. This could be used to make the scenario you're proposing. For real though, if you're being attacked by pirates and you detach your cargo bays, you're serving them loot on a platter. You need a defense system capable of dealing with threats like that.
  12. Don't know about you, but I kinda like Unionists. Not personal or anything, of course not, just sounds good.
  13. Looks cool. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
  14. Looks good. Nice to see that the Syndicate as a whole is actually growing like a government entity or organisation would.
  15. Um, yes. An important thing you should keep in mind is not to hurt members of the Union.
  16. The Union is now recruiting! A Zetaboards forum (click here) has been launched to provide the necessary infrastructure to support communication within the organisation - if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us through that website or through messages on this website. Click here to find the Union's community page and join the Union if you so desire. We look forward to your arrival.
  17. I was looking at this topic and I remembered that the youtube channel said the voxels were comparable to metre measurements. So, it only makes sense to continue with the implemented, more easily measurable in-game system.
  18. I wasn't thinking into this website so much as into the game itself. The site is fine with forums.
  19. Hey guys, In other games I've played, groups like the organisations here have an in-game chat for live communication. I was wondering a chat like this would be implemented into Dual Universe for the organisations? It would mean that organisations wouldn't have to use off-game resources like Discord to communicate, and it would help to engage new players in organisations they've just joined. Sorry if this has already been mentioned / implemented.
  20. Thanks for the welcomes, guys. The logo does have a specific use but that can't be utilised without a physical game world right now.
  21. The Union Who Are We? We can be anyone. We can be anywhere. If you choose, you can be one of us. What Can We Offer? Protect your brothers, and they will protect you. In your time of need, the Union is indebted to offer you any and all of the services its members can provide. The aim of the Union is to provide a universal support network for any such member of the Union that requires the services the other members can provide. What Do We Want From You? We ask not for an army, only for a union. Mere might is nothing in the face of brotherhood. All we ask is that you are there to help one on of the Union as they would help you. You are free, even encouraged, to pursue your own goals, your own desires, otherwise. How Can You Find The Union? Simply follow the symbol of the Union (∪). When the time comes, we will find one another in the Universe, and we shall become legion. What Does All Of This Amount To? Each and every member is just as important as the next. Under the Union, you can expect to find a welcoming community that can help you on your journey in Dual Universe. We look forward to your joining, and if you want to know more, you can message the Legates of the Union. Addendum (14/4/17) The Union does not require you to solely be a member of this organisation. It is completely possible to be a member of another organisation while also being a member of the Union. Addendum (18/4/17) The Union now has a Discord channel! Click here to see what we're about.
