  1. 30 FPS is no enjoyment for me in any game, it feels clunky and unnatural. Whether it's a slow or fast paced game. A good FPS is 60 and I still can tell the difference between 60 and 90 in viewing comfort easily. Up to 144 FPS it even increases for me in a subtle way or in direct comparison. I'm not talking about my K/D. Below 60 is a pain to play.

  2. I think there is a difference if only an elite close to the staff circle can participate in world quests or if you create open and accessible events which would call for an actual group effort of the community and not a selected few. I don't think it's about winning but about being able to part take in a game. Events should cater to the masses indeed, especially in an MMO.

To solve most of them you needed a degree in astrophysics, astronomy something pretty much 75% of the player base didn't have, in fact if you looked at the forums most of those discoveries were made by the same people.

More like 98%. And yes wonder why it's the same people? because they're close to the staff and some players out if this group became staff even. I think people really don't see the extend of nepotism here. I find JCs obsession with RPO really creepy and it doesn't fit into the concept of Dual Universe at all. There is absolutely no deep social focus besides trading in this game and very little incentive to leave your ship for anything than mining and selling that ore imho.

@carijay766 They should define clearer boundaries, I usually ask staff or a GM on discord if I'm unsure. Sometimes it takes time for them to respond and sometimes they even provide bad responses, because they may be unsure themselves. But sometimes they do respond and it's a good way to have something to back-up your claim if you wanted a ban appeal.

I was trapping for a while, because I had gotten no answer whether it was allowed or not (Asked a minimum of 5 times over a long period of time) and only after people had been complaining about me, a GM removed my trap, so I knew to stop trapping. tbh people shouldn't walk into a building with a massive sign saying "Free" xD

@Moosegun Well, laws of civilization are just words we decided to write down on a piece of paper. It's not a part of the "code" in our world, they can be broken. Laws are to be enforced and passed on by organizations themselves, not enforced through a system like RDMS. They could maybe make it easier for organizations to communicate these laws, but that's about the only thing NQ would need to do. The main things NQ could do for crime would be hunting animals, drugs and stealing. Drugs could have cool effects like faster sprint for x amount of time or when AvA comes out, more damage or health for x amount of time.

There you have it. Even the most reasonable sandbox mechanics like trapping are forbidden. This is turning into a carebear theme park. Why give the player options just to cripple them again completely in hindsight. Exactly my thought why would you run into someone's property with a big sign on it or buy from a dispenser that says AGG 5k quanta... ? It's like you're getting punished for the stupidity of others. Not what I call sandbox.

    Hey @carijay766

Locking threads is a moderator's decision and in most cases not made by NQ. We do this when members fail to keep it civil, friendly and constructive. Example: if this thread would be locked, your comment would be on the list of reasons for that lock - it's completely off-topic and can be considered trolling and flaming. Please respect the original author's intent for the thread, which is to help improve things - not to spit at your host's feet.

Furthermore please refrain from proclaiming about our, the moderators team's, or NQ's preferences. I for one love pizza, moonlight and friendly discussions. Not only is your comment in violation with our Forum Rules, the statements it contains are wrong too.

Since I just @mentioned you in one of the other two recently locked threads, where your comments were one of the many reasons I locked those, I begin to wonder about your motivation to partake in this community. If it's merely to troll and flame I'd strongly suggest you to reconsider. Respect the rules, turn the aggression down and politeness and constructivity up. Thanks.

In case you want to dispute how moderation is done: take a look at the forum rules as they contain a paragraph at the end about where to send such reports.

    @Guest Dubble

As there has been enough off-topic I want to add something of value:

Reading this I'd think that Starfire maybe meant that you could send a private message to one of our Community Managers like @NQ-Naerais. Since forum members can't really solve this here (and I can't send private messages to guests) in fact yes, I considered to just give this statement and lock right away, since the path this would take given current situation was rather obvious - but I thought it could just as well become a topic where members get constructive and come up with suggestions on how to improve the paragraphs you address or add more observations about where documents are lacking in a positive and constructive way. Maybe a bit optimistic, I admit, but you know they say hope dies last ;)

    Mellow greetings

    Mondlicht

    ps

@blazemonger your post came in while I was still typing. Thanks for taking it back on topic - my words above clearly didn't take your comment into account. Hope paid off :)

Clearly mods act as henchmen in every social platform may or be forums or discord so NQ doesn't look even worse than they made themself look already and they again escape responsibility. Mods are 100% representing the company or are you saying you were not officially put in place and you're acting against the companies guidelines, rules and intents? Please pick one.

I dont see any trolling in calling out contradictions of people/arguments or stating my opinion/experience just because some disagree with it. I don't see where I went completely off topic either, but feel free to enlighten me and give some proof for your accusations.

PS: your subtle threats and one sided blameshifting (I certainly wasn't the only one with a harsh or direct tone and there was even actual insults from other parties who did not agree with me) trying to make me responsible for something that NQ caused (very well known tactic by now) are of course very much appreciated at least you're making it obvious that censorship is based on terror not reason - complaints about certain moderation approaches go directly to NQ, do you really think they would objectively judge about them? Clearly silencing critical voices is in their utmost interest - not an actual discussion (which surprise surprise include contradicting opinions and also critical voices sometimes)

PPS: Why, instead of blameshifting and threatening consumers, don't you try to give some constructive answers to the ongoing questions that many of us have regarding the CoC (as someone who is closer to the source than any of us and can also actually consult the devs for clarification)? This would certainly settle a lot of the ongoing confusion and show that NQ actually has some interest in working with the community. It would also flatten the waves which im sure is in everyone's interest.

I love when alts come to post.

Fact is you CAN scam in game you just have to do it within the confines of the games mechanics.  Not by exploiting or finding bugs to use.

Lol at anything "within the game mechanic" you were one of the guys whining about how it's bugusing when players act within the game mechanics but it's deemed illegal by NQ in hindsight. Cut your hypocritisy.

  7. In my experience even if it was tolerated before or even fully legalized NQ is very prone to spontaneously doing a 180° turn and you'll get punished out of the blue. So even if they'd say ingame scamming is okay or the like, you're always at risk to become a victim of their randomness at any time.

Judging from the posts no one here has an actual clue about what goes and what not, due to the indeed insanely vague rules and NQs inconsistency and despotism. They're all waiting for some made up excuses from NQ to tell you "that was obvious" in hindsight.

So much for the boundless limitless civilization sandbox world that the game was pitched as. At this point the game is more crippled by the overlying shadow of terrorism from the Devs than your average theme park game and on top of that you got random acts of nonsense by the devs.

And if we imagine some fantasic situation when NQ takes him in some private setting and consult with him on matters, they can actualy profit from his insights quite a bit I think. Yet probably (and sadly) it never happen.

Indeed absolutely fantastic in terms of delusional... We've seen that NQ is incapable of learning from mistakes pulling out every psychological defense mechanism in the book to avoid responsibility.

I thought this game was a 13+ Are you sure your mum knows you’re conversing with adults?

I am cranky often, I know this. But as some have already said, it’s because we want this game to succeed.

I have said on many occasions that this game is basically “digital crack.”  It can be devilishly addictive at times.

Adults are never bitter? Do you really think some neckbeard nolifer doesn't hate themself and is bitter about himself and everyone else? Just look at yourself and other white knights how pissed you all are about people creatively exploring with curious minds. They hate it if someone is actually having fun here.

  10. Rip this thread, I can guarantee you this will be shut down aswell soon. NQ doesnt like meanie talk, especially if theyre the reason its happening and made themself look bad in so many occasion. They love to purge they love to censor. They love to shutdown bad press creating more bad press. Marketing geniuses right there.

Ok. I do not claim complete knowledge. Therefore, I will indicate those places that you clearly assume and distort.
    1.

Do you know exactly how the database is implemented? Or do you suppose? The fact that links to the markets were lost is a fact. As in the game, when you remove an engine or machine, the link is lost.

The no links are lost in bp. No database is lost of stored correctly and professionally. The database. The market names. All was lost even tho they set the elements themselfs again (I was around when it happened and checked the terminals occassionally and followed the process).

So days or hours? 10 or 100 players?
It is about these assumptions that I speak. You base your judgments on them.
Regardless of how many people beat one person, everyone will be responsible personally.
Even if the developers did a bad job of the database, even if this is the approach of 10 years ago, it does not justify what was done.

I don’t understand at all how arrogant or stupid it is to steal from the developer market and then admit it to them. What were they hoping for?

Theyre and you were basing your justification for a perma ban on their intentional destruction of the database and the hard to replace part.

An official warning and statement towards the players involved, a clarification of the situation and a deletion of the stolen items or voluntary return would have absoltely been appropiate and no one wouldve bat an eye about that. I talked to several players involved and all of them have told me they even deleted all the items very shortly after taking them, because they did not want to gain a profit from this (some kept a souvenier at best until it was obviously deemed a bannable offense in hindsight). Scoopy and Uber did not touch the AGGs as they were of high value. The market terminal themself were of no value and not even placable, they became a mere souvenier of the incident. The plastic voxels that the market was made out of has no huge value either. I guess you could have charged them for some XS lamps at bot market price if not returned or proof of deletion.

The developers in the game act as a game master.

Exactly and they have shown that theyre insane, irrational and tyrannical masters on the one hand and on the other hand nepotic and grooming towards certain alpha backers.. Only the most immoral people in history have sided with such people.

If an authority gets contradictory, hypocritical or start even blatantly lying to you they loose their natural authority and can only push their stuff thru with force and fear. This has never lead to anything lasting or positive in the history of mankind.

Its their right to make shitty business decisions. Its their right to ban half the player base. But if you love DU you should change your thinking. Its not NQ we're here for its DU.

I rely on facts and documents from the developers. You rely on speculation and your own desires. In principle, everything is clear.

    Too many assumptions.

Where is my speculation? Where is my assumption? I rely my arguments on avaible actual evidence (not on a post that consists of a lot of lies and contradictions), may it be from NQ, what ive seen with my own eyes or seen screenshoted/documented from other sources. It was definitely more than confirmed 10 people who took a hand full of voxels from the market. I just dont know the exact numbers. If im speculating I'm making it clear.

If youre going by this 1:1 attacking Players in PvP who dont consent would break that rule aswell. There are no sanctions and youre ruining someone elses day with it. This rule is so vague its useless. A removed partially disassembled market wouldnt stop players from playing in any way, there were still at least 17 markets left on alioth alone.

NQ banned because they had a absolute shit way to implement the database for unfathomable reasons which no player could have anticipated and players unintentionally deleted it. They overreacted to their own absolutely amateurish mistake. No reasonable developer would have implemented a database in that way. Thats an 10 year old approach on making a game. And youre forgetting this was out in the open for hours if not for days without any reaction from NQ, so it was not one or two players who participated is was several in the 10s, maybe 100s who knows for sure.

Are you saying we shouldve known by then that they would become unreasonable and limit people in their freedom or even punish people if they played the game within the games intended systems? Obviously NQ is straying away from their initial promise more and more. Crippling the game as time goes by.

There was absolutely no feasable indication that using the games system would have a perma ban as consequence. No prior example. No rule that wouldve made that clear (only rules that were reinterpreted and bend to an insane extend). No one in history of DU has interacted with an construct of NQ in that way, all other interaction with NQ placed structures did not have any negative consequences. Period.

Ahhh seems ive gotten to you.  See normal people spend time in places they enjoy, and doing things they enjoy.  You've already said you've gotten a refund and DU isn't for you. Fair enough.  No problems there. But you continue to shit up the forums, troll, and talk shit about the devs and NQ.  People with underlying problems exhibit the kind of behavior that you are doing right now.  Hopefully things get better in your life.

Again: look who is talking.  You even respond to my one liner with multiple lines. Who is wasting time here exactly, I dont even read past sentence one in your posts.

Yours are equally trash. Far be it for me to tell someone how to spend their time, but you aren;t subbed to this game. Are vocally against it. Yet you hang out there.  That comes off as pretty pathetic, and someone who has things going in their life, dont do those sort of things. You come off as a sad Individual  with very low level trolls.  Once again, why are you hear?  Life is too short to waste it hanging around a place you hate.  I do hope things get better for you in your life.

For someone who has issues with understanding interconnections they might sure be overwhelming and not possible to compute. You seem to be one of the simpler folks with your name calling and all. Why do I hear? Because I have ears son. Youre hanging out here aswell wasting your time, your illogical contradictions fit the mindset of the average NQ supporter it seems. Sad that you pull me down to ad hominem argumentation. But I guess thats the level the an ignorant NQ supporter wants to be on, so I do my best to involve you in the discussion aswell - I will make it simple for you and wont use so many big words - I promise.
