  1. It wouldn't cripple your PC. The spreading of fire and the status of voxels will be calculated by the server.
  2. It would be a great way to unite people in my opnion. If the people of a city or a planet hear that a local corporation is building a city destructing device they would all hop in their fighters and attack the construction site together. Like an Elite Dangerous Community Goal but with actual effects.
  3. Tech should only be the represenation of a general idea. so if you researched Photon thrusters that should'nt mean that you can instantly make one of any quality. That's where skills should come into play. Science tech --> Part Design --> Shipbuilding
  4. I think there should be some kind of science points. Quantum physics, Alien Ecology, Mathematics, Matter manipulation ect. You should be able to get those by either reverse-engineering advanced equipment or by mainstream !SCIENCE!(I mean studying anomalies, setting up server parks to calculate ect. To make it cooler the points should be stored on harddrives so they could be stealed. And should be able to use your newly accuired points to research technologies. The techs should use more than one type of points like if you want to make a Quantum tunneling drive you have to use up 15 quantum points and 10 mathematics and 3 matter manipulation. This is basically Space station 13-s research system but way longer.
  5. Instead there should be a very little chance like 1% when exploring a new system that you find something big.
  6. I support this but only if the Space Creature only attacks when provoked. If there are no goals nobody will team up properly with anyone.
  7. The server has to scan the construct at least once per change. and it's easy to check if something is behind something. I hope they will spend a half hour for this.
  8. I wasn't arguing with you by the way.
  9. True, most people want's an MMO but you don't have to attack everyone who doesn't shares you opnion. By the way the point of the suggestions forum is to share IDEAS. Ideas don't always have to work out properly or be possible at all. Perhaps the idea wasn't good or something but you should not start a flame war. You confuse idea with plan.
  10. I will definetly play online but if you force someone to play online they won't be good community members and perhaps they even quit.
  11. In the internet age it's not a problem to update the game to solve balance issues. Basically every other PvP multiplayer game does this. We have some voxel based vechnile PVP game currently without outstanding balance issues like Robocraft, Avorion, Galactic Junk Legaue. Meta in a game can shift quickly. If somebody designs an engine which is super powerful then everybody will start working on an engine that is good against the first one. Another way to balance is to define material cost according to the output (Damage of a gun or Speed of an engine)
  12. False. Nomadic lifeform was abandoned because it prevented field farming and stopped the progress of technology. But gamewise would you want to stay logged in all night to guard your stuff.
  13. 1. Would be cool. 2. Would be buggy as hell 3. Yes please It would be really easy to balance. just limit the energy one voxel can take before overloading ect.
  14. Perhaps i misunderstood the devblog but i think you won't lose all your items on death.
  15. Puzzle pirates anyone? A hardcore game with casual mechanics. It's pretty stable but have horrible graphics and bad walk controls. By the way DU should use that game as an example for it's economy.
  16. As No man's sky taught us don't expect too much from random generated planets.
  17. The OG wrote about big, hard to kill alien fanua wich drops nothing but thin air and maybe meat you would have to kill them to secure the area. and you can't grind a creature that only spawns once. --EDIT It seems i misread something sorry Lethys you are right with the drops.
  18. I think the perfect solution is not VR instead AR (augmented reality) so you actually build the hologram of the construct in the "real" (not really) world and include an auto build button (takes time). What do you think?
  19. They could not use them as weapons cause anomalies would be hard to contain ( if possible at all). How would you transport a gravitational anomaly? And if the attackers manage to create anomalies at the target anomalies then that will be clearly the defenders' fault. I like the Anomaly charge idea it would make the scientists move from area to area but it makes no sense if the only use of this is destroying your own base. so people who delve in anomaly research should get great rewards. High risk / High reward. The Killer Meatloaf strikes!
  20. (Off topic) Down with Chernobyl! Aliens are better. I don't know why the game changed the setting from UFO landing to Chernobyl it's rude to make such differeces between the source material and the game. (On topic) If we can think a cause for the anomalies to appear it's a great idea. I'm a fan of S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Roadside Picknick too. I would make much more sense with a science system in place. so a faulty experiment (by players) could be used as a source (just like a Chernobyl research lab in the game).

    VR Capabilities

I think tab-targeting and VR are great together. It's much easier to just look at things to select them.
  22. With clever design yes. for explame if every player on the planet or even in the solar system gets a message that somebody is building a super weapon 2 or 3 weeks before completion then they can form a coalition and destroy the station with an almost 100% chance. and it would be fun for both parties (like an unbalanced capture the point game with huge conqunceques.). This way only somebody who doesn't care if his work gets destroyed will build a Death Star and players won't have to fear their buildings so much. but the tension will still be there.

    Big-War-Day

But it would make a great stress test for alpha and it would be fun for the tester. But it's a bad idea on live server.

    Plague

I don't think that lore comes first in games. Gameplay mechanics are much more important.(I understand you are joking by the way)
  25. I think death should lower only one of your skills not all. But changes in appereance would be cool (but that doesn't makes sense lorewise).
