  1. Back in mah day, we rode horses to school and LIKED it!!! lol. Just because you had to back then doesn't mean it's a necessary or desirable gameplay element / experience.
  2. Still no reason for it to consume so much computing power.
  3. ... so if someone locks a planet for a warp and there's a space station wall in the way, they explode? that sounds like a major bug that needs to be addressed asap
  4. I think you'd enjoy Factorio. DU, however, is not Factorio. this just sounds incredibly annoying
  5. Uhh. What does that mean?
  6. Mostly agreed with everything except this. One could argue that the UI is an augmented reality display projected on the inside of your helmet.
  7. I suspect that there's no occlusion culling for voxel calculations and it's always doing something regarding every bit of terrain within loading distance of you... the game is horrifically unoptimized so far, I've seen nothing voxel-wise that's superior to even Space Engineers or Planet Explorers yet it uses 5x the resources.
  8. It could also lead to multi crew dynamic ship reconfiguration... slap on a couple L thrusters, use em to change a vector, then remove before a lock could be established. Or add them for an acceleration burn and remove at speed to present a smaller target.
  9. Clever. I like your style.
  10. Ahhahahahahaha. All bugs should be fixed, especially 'useful' ones. That said, that's a hilarious bug sequence break. Are you saying that bug has existed since Alpha?
  11. The mere act of relogging instantly shows the vanished constructs. No file manipulation is required.
  12. What if targetable range was determined by highest tier of elements on a target ship? L gun+radar on an XS core? Targetable at L range. M gun / L radar on that XS core? Targetable at L range. S gun and M radar? Targetable at M range. Etc. Non-combat XS core ship with L engines? Targetable at L range.
  13. Would you mind showing some examples of what you consider to be poorly built ships versus well built ships?
  14. Pvp really doesn't make much sense in the ingame lore. Humanity escapes a destroyed home planet and comes to a new solar system to rebuild society. Where does conflict and self destruction help with that? Keep it to VR, if anything. Sociopathy and psychopathy are mental illnesses that should have been solved and completely removed from such a society. As Charlie Chaplin in the Great Dictator said, we should try to help each other; not profit from misery and despair.
  15. Surface rocks. As they actively regenerate in real time, infinity T1+T2 resources can be obtained from a single Sanctuary hex, given time and effort. I actually haven't mined any subsurface deposits yet and I have a fully enclosed S static core (256m3 of shiny black iron, ~1024m3 of shiny black concrete, and 256m3 of matte black concrete) and am gradually filling it with lovely machinery. It is tedious and requires lots of precise clicking and holding, true, but at optimal rates, I can obtain up to 24kL of T1 (20 rocks per minute) or 14kL of T2 (12 rocks per minute) per hour. I got the achievement for 10kL of surface coal rocks last night, but the achievement for 100kL of surface quartz rocks will probably take a few more days.
  16. I think you might mean 'uses'. Some form of Minecraft's NEI or JEI mods or Factorio's FNEI mod would be very nice in Dual Universe. Here's an example from the FNEI page. Each of those icons can be clicked to view that item's recipe and uses.
  17. Yes, please. This would be amazing. Could we get Procedural Wings from Kerbal Space Program, maybe?
  18. Or Dual Factorio Universe. Both would be awesome. hmm. flying spidertron, anyone?
  19. Actually, surface rocks in purple (npc) hexes can be mined. Even starting from nothing from a respawn starter hex, you can still mine/craft/build a basic speeder without spending money.
  20. Use one of the translate hotkeys. Translation allows precise positioning of both elements and voxels while allowing free movement to see all angles.
  21. I see no reason why a civilization with such advanced hand-held tools should not have vastly more powerful construct based tools. I envision a mining ship with an x-ray vision mode that allows pinpointing of resource nodes from a km away underground, excavating a passage to the node, and mining it. Let's make it happen, NQ. Oh and also, resource nodes really should be a lot bigger in general. 10x the current minimum size as the new base minimum. Same resource count per hex, naturally.
  22. No, the end goal of this game is to build a thriving civilization. Pvpers are the emotionally disturbed and should be rooted out and exterminated with prejudice.
  23. Yeah, there's a huge problem with constructs just randomly vanishing. Earlier I was surface mining my hex. Got about 600m away from my Void Cube base and when I re-approached, it was gone. Had to relog to get it to appear again...
