  1. I've pretty much stated that if NQ wipes Talent Points (TPs) then I'm gone as a paying customer. But I might be persuaded to stay if NQ would compensate us paying customers with DACs equal to our paid subscription time during Beta. I would still feel that everything during beta was pretty much for nothing (and what has happened before might very well happen again), but I would not feel as if I was bend over and taken by a lamppost... 😉 The DACs would give us the option to use that paid for subscription time as we please, either sell it in game for quanta or start multiple characters for the relaunch. My questions: 1.) Would that be an acceptable compromise for you, the player? 2.) Would you stay with such a compromise after wipe/relaunch? 3.) Would NQ handing out DAC like that be realistic, as that's pretty much game time they are paying for twice.* *On the other hand they did destroy the first time they charged for it (beta) with a wipe. Note: This isn't so much a discussion about a wipe, how to wipe, when or if. But about possible compensation if a complete wipe occurs.
  2. All of them. If those are the kind of players that will only play if I lose what I paid for, then I can do without those kinds of people/players. And how long will you keep those new 'players'? And will you keep doing new skill wipes every six months/year? How many long time paying (subscription) customers are you willing to lose if you wipe Talent Points? Now, it would be different that if I had 24 months of subscription on a character, NQ paid me in 24 DAC. While not exactly happy, that would make me consider staying. But that's effectively giving away subscription time=money, which imho they don't really have.
  3. How should I say this nicely... I appreciate the attempt by an NQ employ to keep communicating, trying to give hope to players with 'concerns'. But... For a lot of us, the announcement on the 14th of April 2022 was a complete showstopper and that is now 8 weeks ago, almost two months. A continued lack of clarity and an apparent ability to make decisions on NQs part is not filling me with confidence. It's also eating up my paid subscriptions because I'm not playing due to the sudden lack of a 'persistent' universe, the 'promise' of DU. And while the Talent Points keep accruing, there is no clarity on whether we'll keep (all of) them. Any 'hope' I had of a relatively quick resolution on the issue of wipe or no wipe (and what exactly) has gone out of the window with this letter to the community. And even then, NQ has shown time and time again (during the beta), that what they announce and what actually happens can often be two completely different things. So for me, the actual wipe/launch date is the only 'proof' of what happens. That seems awfully far away, a couple of my accounts run til the end of January 2023 and I honestly have the impression that those accounts will expire before we have an actual wipe/launch... Instead of giving me hope and confidence, this letter leaves me disappointed, annoyed, and a little angry. I'm seriously starting to doubt the sanity of the person/collective that made the announcement on the 14th of April. Initially I had the idea to test some cheap builds and BPO them for relaunch (in the hope we keep those), but with all the changes upon changes that keep getting rolled out. Anything I build now, might not work at all at relaunch, so why bother? It's not as if the 'gameloops' themselves are fun and satisfactory in themselves...
  4. Assumption is the mother of all... 😉 BPs could very well end up in the shredder as well... As they would invalidate a TON of potential character income as people could import designs from others with quanta paid in a broken economy...
  5. But all the customers have walked out already...
  6. But you only risk it a few minutes during leaving atmo and then ~2U from the Radar range, beyond that you should not have any issues. Unless you're flying in the pipe and thus doing it the wrong way.... As for flying a ship costing 50M-100M... WTF are you doing! Are you nuts!?!? Why would you fly such an expensive ship? Fly a way cheaper ship! Fly safer! Profit! Look at the recent Alien Core Wars, the Asteroid camps, there are just not enough pirates to camp all the planets waiting for mission runners to fly away... Unless something changed drastically since the 14th of April I see no reason to change mission running to pay out more by either more per mission or able to do more double, triple or quadruple dip beyond the current capabilities. If the player population ever grows again an pirates infest the skies, then maybe NQ needs to look at missions, but not by paying out more, but by giving options to avoid pirates, at the moment it's just a lack of (interested) pirating bodies that makes missioning possible...
  7. Win what exactly? DU, like EVE, does not have a 'win' condition... Pay to do What? What this does is give people who are space rich and RL poor the ability to keep playing the game. And folks that don't want to grind, the option to not do that. Besides that, it means money for the developer, the RL 'rich' pay more so the RL 'poor' can play as well... Money for the developer means that the game keeps on existing and has room to develop... Theoretically....
  8. My game loop pretty much ended the 14th of April... But before that, I did 'projects'. And depending on the project I did the different ingame activities to achieve that. I've done a lot of manual mining, after the auto mining, a ton of auto mining (project to get 25M of Natron at outer planets for fuel stations) Building Space and planet stations as infrastructure, getting the quanta to buy the space elevators for travel between the two. Doing mission running to acquire quanta to fund those 'projects' Creating infra structure to do that mission running, mining, building, etc. effectively. Manufacturing stuff effectively, sometimes for sale, mostly for my own use. I want to design a couple of specific ships, but at least half my time the last year and a half has been spend fixing the sh!te NQ 'broke' after their patching, so designing ships really hasn't happened yet. There was some pvp... But that was just me being shot at (and sometimes blown up), darned pirates! Pvp for pvp sake is not my thing, pvp for defense (currently not doable) or getting access to resources I would not otherwise have access to (like plasma) would be a future possibility... Maybe...
  9. Maybe NQ wants to make a DAC blockchain or... DAC NFTs... 😉
  10. Isn't that a form of pvp? People spend a ton of time building those large ship capture arays! If players can't retrieve the ships by themselves from the beanstalk, they'll eventually should be salvageable by the tile owner... 😉 Or is only pew-pew pvp allowed? Note: I do not own any beanstalks...
  11. I'm wondering how many expensive elements I could fit on an L core... 😉 I'm of the thinking that if you think you say something reasonable, someone in game will misuse it heavily!
  12. I suspect that this would kill the game, not only with an exodus of paying subscribers with multiple accounts that have been paying since the start of beta. Also the amount of negative press that would generate would be a killing blow to NQ. Or is that your objective?
  13. With full cargo/fuel containers? I can fit a crapton of containers (~1100 EXL containers) into an L core... And a LOT of stuff is going to fit into that. Imagine If I can start the game with 800 million liters of stuff... Even if it's just T1 ore, that's 20B quanta I can sell instantly to a NPC market buy order... Now... If I do that for 4 characters...
  14. Are you just saying things... There has not been a price increase since 2003... There has been 1 price adjustment in other currencies, and that was one adjustment (and it wasn't that big).... So where do you get 'the one before that' from? Or just just tossing out numbers again that don't mean much, if anything?
  15. Erm... I'm seeing 23.723 online right now, I've looked earlier this week and saw 26k player online (and I'm not looking at peak hours). Last Sunday the peak was at 28k+. Source: https://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility Peak was 65k+ in 2013, it's already been way lower for years. Also keep in minds that these are not unique players, these are unique accounts... If players are leaving massively, the stats don't show it that way at all. This player with a 17.5 player history is still around, because I'm not an idiot and paying $20 per month. I pay per year, buy via Markee Dragon and often via a sale. With the next Omega sale I'll be resubbing my accounts with a 2-year code. I did the same with DU, buy a year for my accounts. With current inflation in the western world, not expecting a price increase at launch is not realistic...
  16. As things stand now... A single month of subscription is €9,99. That more months of subscription is less per month, then buy a subscription. I suspect that if you buy 12 DAC at once for RL money, you'll also get a discount. But the ingame token will be more expensive then a subscription, motivating people to subscribe and paying a premium for 'p2w'. How things will stand after release.... I suspect that the subscription price might increase to €14,99 or if they really want to emulate EVE... €19,99/month... 😉 Compare that to the EVE prices of €19,99 for a single month or €270,99 for 2 years (€11,29/month) vs 500 PLEX (1 month) is €24,99 or 20.000 Plex (40 months) is €649,99 (€16,25/month). So price increase incoming! 😉
  17. I feel like I'm watching the movie Idiocracy (2006) again...
  18. We got the announcement of the 'announcement' on April the 14th, 2022. It's now May 15th, 2022. A month has gone by, and NQ has effectively not been able to come to a decision on how to wipe their game. Is this a lack in leadership (capabilities) or is this just a hail Mary were NQ wants to keep their (paying) customers as confused as possible, for as long as possible? If NQ can't come to a decision in a month, and we got confirmation two days ago that they were still 'discussing' it at the office from a YT podcast by official sources. Do you think they can come to a decision in two months? Six months? Twelve? Then how much more time until actual implementation? Meanwhile our subscriptions are being eaten by a DU that's just not persistent as was advertised. How long can such a situation last before it's completely irreversible? This is not a thread about wipe or no wipe, this is about the lack of decision making. So we're taking bets on when the actual wipe or no-wipe happens and when that decision will be made. Place your bets here! #SchrödingersDU
  19. Why not OR Space engines Or Atmo Engines and 1 appropriate fuel tank (XS). That gives atmo people a vehicle and space people a space vehicle... And not rich people a pocket rocket that can do both...
  20. Companies do... At least the 'succeed' part. Look at all the startups and companies that have virtually no income and still get more and more investors...
