  1. Currently the PVP community is vocal because NQ literally robbed them of 21$ or so. Game is being advertised as PVP while in fact, PVP is completely pointless and impossible to find even if you do it just for fun. No one flies outside the safe zones. Everyone warps back and forth. There is no way to intercept them. Those that don't warp go to 30k in 2.5SU safe zone and good luck trying to catch-up. The only pvp cubes of the previous patch are sitting 1su away from safezone and run there if there is any danger. There is no commitment so PVP goes to "we fired at them, they fired at us. We now both sit and repair our ships". There is no way to be a "pirate". The transport ships don't need to do much to avoid you. IQ>40 is usually enough to fly in complete safety anywhere. I am not talking "1v1 white knights PVP", If I want that there are games that do it better. I am talking about sandbox "surprise buttsex PVP".
  2. 4) Building cool ships with voxels if that's your thing 5) Trucking, just need couple of weeks for markets to settle down. 6) Salvaging, not the NQ one, there are many leftovers from pvp ships dead that were left in space due to people just not caring to repair/dismantle them as everything was so easy "let that broken space engine Ms rot in space I have 100500 of them anyway" etc. Not sure about their core status, in most cases core was dead, don't know if it can be picked up now.
  3. Markets are currently unstable. You need to wait about a week or two then you can trade. Twists like the above don't help. People are now scared to buy more schematics as they don't know what NQ want to do now. The sooner people invest in schematics and rebuild(now much smaller) factories the sooner economy will stabilize. Prices will go up for now, then will slow down and go back down again - cheaper items will complete this cycle fast, expansive items will do it slower.
  4. How I see it: There will probably be hexes with better output and hexes with lower output. If you are ready to fight for it, go for the better hex and get it, then defend it and get high output for doing so. If you don't want to fight for it, go for the lower end hex and hope no one attacks you and you will get lower output for lower risk. Hexes in safe zone will not be able to generate that type of "energy?" or will be limited to the lighter versions as use of those higher end generators is forbidden by Aphelia authorities due to environmental problems. Like risk vs reward thingy. There are ATM two things that we seem to call "energy" and they to be completely unrelated: 1) Energy as a resource that factories etc should consume when they are running 2) Energy as balancing factor so core of size N can only produce E amount of energy so sum of elements that can be put on that core should be <E. In my case I use energy as (1)
  5. I was blowing up ships in the other game and that facebook ad popped up saying I can do it better in DU. I believed it...
  6. You can build a space capable ship with nanocrafter without schematics. Cool looking ore miner ship capable of lifting like 1-2kt of ore to space ~= 15mil. That's about 700kl of t1 ore sold to bots with new prices. You don't have to craft everything yourself, that's not how the game is supposed to be played. If you want to craft something, pick a single item, purchase schematic for it and craft it 24/7 (buy ore, sell the product). We are playing MMO not single player game with multiplayer option like SE.
  7. TLDR: Patch notes: We now have better protection for your voxelmancy ! Players QA question: WTF ? All my ships been copied, I lost all my work! Q/A post patch: Yea, we completely disabled the protection for now, we will enable it next week. Players after QA: Let's talk Linkedin...
  8. it contradicts pretty much the spirit of the game. Single shard universe. If they lose this one, then this game is dead 100%.
  9. Where is the I get the schematics changes but hate all the rest (dead ships jumping away from you) option ?
  10. I mean, you will still go buy your engines and wings as you need lots of them but you will at least be able to make that damn small element that you only need 1 and you forgot to buy it when you were near the market + the smoother transition for new players. Wanna build it yourself ? Start with generics, see how it works. Wanna build a factory ? Make a plan, specialize, go for it.
  11. The nanocrafter is too limited + it doesn't allow for newbies to get a hand of industry. What i propose is to shorten the gap between nano and efficient industry for newbies.
  12. As many people are against the v0.23 i wanted to share a possible solution without getting everything upside down again. Introduce a "generic schematic" for t1 of each type per price range. That schematics still costs 75k but allows building any item in that category (any item that has a schematic for 75k) but at double the material cost. This will not impact economy, it's inefficient. This will allow people to build their first stuff relatively cheap and not force them to always buy all their simple stuff from market. Those can as well be limited in how many cycles they have.
  13. The game copies eve mechanics in like 95% of what it has. Once it stops being 95% similar I will not compare them. (hope it won't)
  14. That's the price of beta + no wipe. Make the end-game content gates, the way to get there is still in development. I was sold a PVP game where PVP will come in 2 patches. Welcome on board.
  15. 140 days ROI is more than good. 2 weeks ?? You are kidding right. We are playing MMO EVE has stuff with years in ROI. That's the price of stable economy.
  16. I am ok with pew pew to bits until rest is implemented. Just worried there won't be enough shit flying around post patch.
  17. Game is advertised as open world pvp with piracy that's per NQ. "I should be able to avoid it" doesn't fit that.
  18. So PVP should be paused up until the point you decide to get the L radar you say ? Or up until you have enough warp cells ?
  19. That was removed this patch, now the freighter can lock and shoot the same way as the attacker. All cores lock ranges are equal, XS cannot have L guns. With all this, let's make warp drive require L core.
  20. Worse, it was someone telling someone on discord and then the second someone decided to tell everyone. The original message was on English. I told about it in one of the threads we had, I think the one about the element destruction. But who cares about random person talking about stuff like this right ?
  21. when combat involves transport ship it's piracy. Core part of any space game.
  22. Yep I completely agree that all those are missing and your only way to making money is damn boring mining. The problem is, if this change would happen "later" it would be even worse and create even more problems while the change itself(without taking the lack of content into consideration) is good.
  23. OK but what about the warp drive ? Why we allow XS cores, small ships to instantly appear on the other end of the solar system with 1 click ? Let's make it L core only so you actually need to invest if you want that "i win button" and you pay more for actually warping. ATM it just doesn't makes sense to put more restrictions on the PVP side for "balancing" while PVP is the least popular and worst implemented part of the game.
  24. First, all players encountered the same. It's didn't only hit you. Prices go all crazy now as market is destabilized but for established players I can give you the numbers: I play solo, been doing A LOT of thinking and min/maxing over various alts etc. I ended up before the patch with: 10 assemblers running non-stop and producing L space/dynamic cores, Warp drives, AGG M/S. 10 assemblers for each of the items I mentioned. (It was popping up like 3 dynamic core unit L/day, 1 AGG M/day) Now, I am thinking kinda wondering if I turn that all into single L core or may-be single AGG S factory. Not sure I have enough for schematics. I started my industry at about 2-3 days after beta release, I had 2 lines building container S. The patch made industry "specialization" instead of just everyone building everything without thinking twice because they can. At the end, products will become rare and prices for product will go up so those who build them can get more value out of it. If you want to do industry, first you should understand that it is now not "just to have it", it's a goal to reach. You can start by investing the money you have into some low level schematic, like, containers or may be even smaller cores. Then try building it, you can start by buying the parts they will soon be at the market most likely OR buy the schematics only for the part that is most valuable OR you can build the part and sell it to the market if they are not there to the other "you" that will build the containers. Again, my advice, let the markets etc stabilize, they are highly volatile currently and you can't do any math atm + the industry units of t2+ prices are crazy high as there was not enough time to build them. Once the dust settles, make a plan and follow it. I am an ex EVE online player, that game has the most established economy in game world I believe. You need to mine for YEARS there to make a biggest ship solo (and it's not worth it as there are schematics too) but this is the only way of making the economy work. As to the part that you are "behind' the more established players, that's gonna be only for now, if you do it smart the difference will evaporate with time. There will be more patches etc that turn everything upside down. It's OK for a game in beta. Strong will survive, weak will perish - Natural selection. I take the survival as a challenge, try to predict what to do before the patch to gain advantage. What to do now when all my industry is now irrelevant. It is part of the game when you play hardcore games. DU is not a "casual" game by design - no casual game makes you stare at the screen to fly from point A to point B for balance.
  25. So you can't put L guns on XS cores. Why you can put L containers on XS cores ? Why you can put Warp drive L on XS cores ? What's the point of it? You are nerfing PVP even more. If you want to balance, balance it. Make only L cores warp-capable (Warp Drive L), only L-Cores to be able to have L containers etc. Sounds fair.
