  1. I haven't read or seen anything on terrestrial vehicles either yes or no. I'd imagine the materials required wouldn't be that much less than for a ship so would it even be worth it? Unless there was some hard to fine resource that differentiated the two.
  2. No it's a joke from another thread about COPS being pirates and ..... ohhh never mind.
  3. This is going to be us trying to get off the starter planet.
  4. Or you probably could replace griefers with COPS,
  5. I know this is a for fun silly ideas thread but that one goes too far .... BLASPHEMER!!!
  6. I have faith that JC and other devs who can write an expansion/vast game like this won't allow it to be impossible to leave the starter planet. With that said anyone want to bunk up together if it gets crowded?
  7. With your avatar I was expecting something more like Cloud City
  8. Calm down this isn't a compare or debate DU to NMS. I am not saying anything about DU in this thread. Just curious on people's thoughts about this happening with NMS before release after all the secrecy and hype for years.
  9. Yeah but later on it may only take a newb a few hours. So for us starting on day 1 it will be harder and we'll pave the way for future DU toons. After a few months the starter world will be a quick launch for the newbie and no reason to have to build a base or whatever on it. Or someone can be mean and constantly destroy the stargate at the starter planet and never allow future newbs to have it easier. lol
  10. Says the guy with 1307 posts so far. lol sorry had to.
  11. Whoa calm down lol. No one said that time frame is total game play time. I get NMS definitely. it about playing in the sandbox, setting own goals, increasing relationship with other races, exploring more and more planets, gaining new skills/tech etc. The game play is about the playing not like a story driven game. However, getting to the center of the galaxy was suppose to be this hard accomplishment that would take dedication and it is the one place in the universe where something special, or at least it has been hyped, is located. Sean eve said some people may never make it. I did type galaxy but I meant he made it to the center of the universe. I am also completely aware this isn't a NMS forum (hense my first sentence) but being a similar game (sandbox, space sim) I would guess it is a topic people on here are interested in. General Discussion is listed as the place for topics not listed specifically anywhere. If the mods want it deleted then they can of course.
  12. I thought the length of time wasn't with the building of the ship but when the game launches no stargates built. To build one you need the tech, a probe sent out which takes days to weeks. The building of the stargate system at game launch from scratch is what I got as taking much time. Once people begin building stargates the expansion will be much quicker for newbs starting a month or two after release.
  13. I know this doesn't deal with Dual Universe but I am guessing that many on here are interested in NMS. So who has watched game play vids posted before release or "leaked"? One guy said took In a way it is funny and in a way it is tragic with the years of hype, waiting, and work put in for it to be spoiled before release. So have you soaked up everything you can with this leaked info or are you purposely staying away from it? **This is not a compare DU to NMS, or debate about the two, simply curious on people's reaction/thoughts about this happening to NMS before it is released.**
  14. I like the idea of having a starting non-pvp area. Guaranteed plenty of toons online to interact with and being an MMO that is the point. I think the idea of the starter planet is to have a safe place to build your first ship .... to fly elsewhere to establish whatever you are planing to. With this in mind NQ will obviously set it up to make sure there is enough to get newbs started. I would guess that you couldn't claim land on the starter planet, forcing you to progress and move out into the universe and expanding the universe as you do.
  15. The Dominican Republic is mine! Called it haha
  16. I noticed and thought the same .... the stars in the back show the planet moving in an orbit or some sort.
  17. Babylon 5 (or any number) Deep Space 9 (or any number) Satellite 5 (or any number) Blue Star Gamma (or any color or alpha, beta, etc.) The idea is to be consistent when you build 1, 2, 3, .... 100 stations ... just slight variation to identify a specific one but rolling name theme to identify your organization. I have one more I can list here but then I'd have to blow it up and take it over when the game launches b/c I want to use that name.
